Twin Mills Campground Introduce
If you're searching for "camping near me" in the Howe, Indiana area, Twin Mills Campground, located at 1675 IN-120, Howe, IN 46746, USA, has received some recent feedback that potential visitors should be aware of. Based on the provided customer reviews, there appear to be significant concerns regarding the current state of the campground, its amenities, and the attitude of the office staff.
One recurring issue highlighted in the reviews is the perceived decline in the campground's condition. One long-term visitor stated, "They have let the sites go and not taken care of them," indicating a lack of maintenance. This suggests that the upkeep of the camping areas might not be up to the standards experienced in the past.
Another major concern raised by multiple reviewers is the status of the pool. It was reported that "The Pool is closed down all season," and another reviewer mentioned that it "never got repaired and never got an answer why not." The closure of a key amenity like a pool for the entire season would undoubtedly be a significant disappointment for many campers, especially families and those looking to cool off during warmer months. This suggests that a primary recreational feature of the campground is currently unavailable.
Interactions with the office staff also seem to be a point of contention. One reviewer described the "office staff" as "very rude," and another echoed this sentiment, stating, "Rude office people." Negative interactions with staff can significantly impact the overall camping experience, making guests feel unwelcome or poorly treated.
One detailed review recounted a particularly negative experience related to a long-term stay request. The reviewer, who was in town for business and needed to stay for about six weeks, was informed about a mandatory background check for stays longer than a month, which they complied with. However, after 33 days, they were asked to leave immediately because the background check had not yet returned. Despite finding another campground nearby and moving, the office called five days later to say the background check was back and they could return. The reviewer's reaction was understandably negative, stating they would "never stay here again" and would not recommend the campground.
Interestingly, one positive aspect mentioned was a "golf cart parade," which one reviewer described as "The best part of the whole stay." This suggests that there might still be some community events or activities that are enjoyable for guests. However, this single positive seems overshadowed by the more prevalent negative feedback.
Another concerning comment was, "This used to be a great place but it's not the same... Many great people have left. It's like a ghost town now. All the fun is over. So disappointed." This indicates a significant downturn in the atmosphere and overall appeal of Twin Mills Campground compared to previous years, particularly since "new people took over" management.
Given these reviews, if you are searching for "camping near me" and considering Twin Mills Campground, it would be prudent to weigh these recent experiences. The feedback points to potential issues with site maintenance, the unavailability of the pool, and negative interactions with the office staff. While there might still be some aspects like community events that some guests enjoy, the overall tone of the recent reviews is largely critical.
To get the most up-to-date information or to understand if any of these issues have been addressed, you could try contacting Twin Mills Campground directly at (260) 562-3212 or +1 260-562-3212. However, based solely on the provided reviews, there is no promotional information to share, and the overall impression is one of a campground that has declined in quality and service.
For local users in the Howe, IN, area looking for camping options, it would be wise to consider these recent experiences at Twin Mills Campground. The reviews suggest that the current reality might not align with past positive experiences, with concerns about the condition of the sites, the closure of the pool, and the rudeness of the office staff being prominent. While the location itself might still have some inherent appeal, potential campers should be aware of these reported issues before making a decision. It might be beneficial to look into other campgrounds in the vicinity to compare amenities, services, and recent customer feedback.
In conclusion, the recent reviews for Twin Mills Campground paint a concerning picture, with complaints about neglected sites, a closed pool, and rude office staff. While there might be isolated positive moments, the overall sentiment suggests a decline in the quality of the campground. If you are looking for "camping near me" in Howe, IN, it would be advisable to take these points into serious consideration and perhaps seek more current information or explore alternative campgrounds in the area based on these recent experiences.

Twin Mills Campground Reviews
I will never stay here again or recommend it to anyone. They have let the sites go and not taken care of them. The Pool is closed down all season, The best part of the whole stay was the golf cart parade. The office staff is very rude. This was my second time staying here. Last year the place was really nice but since the new people took over, it has went down hill. I came to town for business and told the girl in the office I needed to stay for about 6weeks or so, she proceeds to tell me I have to do a background check if staying more than a month. No problem! I filled out the paperwork and turned it back in to the office. I received a call from the office 33days later and she said that my background check hadn't came back yet and that I needed to remove my camper and myself from the property IMMEDIATELY!!! So I made some phone calls and found a really nice campground 5 min away and moved the next day. Five days later after I moved out, the office called me ( The same Rude Girl) and said my background check had came back and that I can come back and stay until the end of the season!!!! ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! AND NEVER AGAIN...SO I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS CAMPGROUND.
Aug 25, 2024 · Andrew FrazierRude office people. This used to be a great place but it's not the same. Pool never got repaired and never got an answer why not. Many great people have left. It's like a ghost town now. All the fun is over. So dissaointed.
Oct 26, 2024 · Sharon RodriguezOur main issues and why we will not be returning:The pool was in disrepair and closed, and we were not notified ahead of time. This is a big disappointment when we chose our sites based on proximity to pool and it is one of your biggest amenities. The recreation building, or whatever it's called, was rented out all weekend. Which is fine, except for the fact that these guests were allowed to blast loud pounding music until well past midnight on Friday and Saturday night. I don't understand how this is acceptable when the rest of the campground supposedly has quiet hours beginning at 10pm. We were in the tent area which is only maybe 100ft. from this building. Also, no one is around past 6pm in the store or otherwise to enforce anything. So the store is unavailable for food or any other needs, and again, guests were allowed to ride their golf carts around until well past 10pm playing loud music or honking horns. The website misrepresents the amenities and the care for guest satisfaction overall. When there are photos on the campground website that display putt putt being played later at night with fun lights glowing, we were confused when the store and any activities requiring equipment (i.e. the putt putt) closed at 6pm.When we talked with any of the staff about our concerns, of course all they could do was shrug their shoulders and say "sorry". Which is unfortunately not helpful. The bathrooms were mediocre at best. Sharing one sink with not only members of the campground but also the group renting the building all weekend was not ideal. The men's bathroom (showers specifically) were described as very gross and unclean. And 2 of the 3 showers were out of order.Again, overall we did not have a good experience and will sadly not be returning. The only nice thing about the campground was the park. And the beach was alright as well.
Aug 06, 2024 · Audrey WroblewskiWe were just traveling through so we were OK with not having access to a pool. The campground was lovely and we enjoyed seeing all the seasonal/permanent campers - a lot of "house pride" with cute decorations and well kept sites. On the negative side, we didn't get the code to get through the gate from the office (a resident let us in) and the site had not been cleaned from the last camper and had lots of trash. We would definitely recommend this campground for a short stay.
Aug 14, 2024 · Judy SimonWe stayed here this past weekend and how disappointing it was. We have been camping here for the last 3 years now and this weekend was our first this year. The campground looks so deteriorated. Pool was green and closed. Bath house right after the pool is in such poor shape. Toilets are cracked, huge hazard! The handicap bathrooms full of mold and very smelly. Smelled like sewage while taking a shower and there’s no ventilation taking that out. At least it had hot water I guess… Our site was full of pine cones that we had to clear out ourselves to be able to have a decent spot. Also tree branches not trimmed all over the roads hitting the trailer… for the amount you have to pay for a weekend is so NOT worth it anymore. Is just so sad, we use to love camping in Twin Mills, not anymore ☹️.
