The provided phone numbers, (417) 858-3904 and +1 417-858-3904, offer direct contact for inquiries and reservations. Based on the available customer reviews, Viola Park Campground presents a blend of appealing amenities and some navigational considerations for larger RVs.
The environment surrounding Viola Park Campground is undoubtedly a major draw, given its location in Shell Knob, Missouri, a region renowned for its natural beauty and access to Table Rock Lake. Campers can expect a picturesque setting with the lake as a central feature, offering opportunities for scenic views and water-based activities. The terrain in this part of Missouri is typically hilly and wooded, suggesting that the campground might be nestled among trees, providing shade and a sense of natural immersion. The proximity to Table Rock Lake implies a lakeside environment with potential for wildlife sightings and a generally tranquil atmosphere. The reviews mention a "nice swim area," indicating direct access to the lake for swimming and enjoying the water. The overall environment is likely to appeal to those seeking a camping experience centered around a beautiful lake setting with opportunities for relaxation and recreation.
Viola Park Campground appears to offer a range of services to enhance the camping experience. One reviewer specifically mentions "very clean" bathroom facilities with "great water pressure" in the showers, highlighting attention to hygiene and comfort. The presence of a "restaurant down by the docks" is a significant amenity, offering campers the convenience of dining out without leaving the campground and potentially enjoying lakeside views while they eat. The campground is described as "laid out nicely," suggesting a thoughtful arrangement of campsites. While one review noted an initial issue with water hookups at their specific site and an out-of-order dump station, it also mentioned the eventual discovery of a water spigot on the electric pole, indicating that water hookups might be available at some sites, albeit perhaps in an unexpected configuration. It is crucial for prospective campers to clarify the specific hookups available at their chosen site when booking. The availability of a dump station, even if temporarily out of order during one guest's stay, suggests that this service is typically offered. The review also mentions a "nice 2 tier patio with table and fire pit" at the campsites, indicating well-equipped individual camping spaces. The quiet atmosphere reported by one guest, possibly due to neighboring sites being unoccupied due to flooding, suggests that the campground can offer a peaceful experience under certain conditions. The availability of a swim area further enhances the services for those looking to cool off in the lake.
The features of Viola Park Campground seem to cater to both relaxation and recreation. The direct access to Table Rock Lake, with a designated "nice swim area," is a key feature for water enthusiasts. The presence of a restaurant on the docks adds a unique element of convenience and dining pleasure. The "2 tier patio with table and fire pit" at each campsite suggests a comfortable and functional outdoor living space. The review mentioning a "perfect spot to put in our kayaks" indicates that the campground provides access for launching personal watercraft, appealing to those who enjoy paddling on the lake. The potential for scenic views, as experienced by the guest with unoccupied neighboring sites, is another attractive feature. However, the review also highlights a significant feature to be aware of: "very tight road, downhill with lots of trees to get to our site!" This suggests that navigating the campground roads, particularly for larger vehicles like a 37 ft travel trailer with a 20 ft truck, can be challenging and requires careful maneuvering. The hilly terrain, implied by the downhill road, is another feature of the landscape within the campground. The quiet setting, while potentially situational, could be a desirable feature for those seeking a peaceful camping experience. The setup of the sites with retaining walls around the pad might offer some separation and a defined cooking area, as noted by one reviewer.
Currently, no specific promotional information is explicitly mentioned in the provided reviews. Local users interested in Viola Park Campground should contact them directly using the provided phone numbers to inquire about any ongoing specials, discounts for local residents, off-season rates, or package deals that might be available. It is also advisable to check their website or any online booking platforms for potential promotions. Given the positive experiences highlighted in the reviews, particularly regarding the facilities and lake access, it is likely a popular destination, and any promotional offers could make it even more attractive. Inquiring about potential discounts for longer stays or for groups might also be beneficial for local users planning extended getaways or camping with friends and family.
In conclusion, Viola Park Campground in Shell Knob, MO, offers a compelling option for local users searching for "camping near me" on the beautiful Table Rock Lake. Its environment provides stunning lake access and a wooded setting. The services include clean bathroom facilities, a restaurant by the docks, and potentially water hookups at some sites, along with a dump station (though its operational status should be confirmed). Key features include a dedicated swim area, boat access for kayaks, well-equipped campsites with patios and fire pits, and potentially scenic lake views. However, prospective campers, especially those with larger RVs, should be aware of the tight and hilly roads within the campground and should clarify the hookup situation for their specific site when booking. Local users are encouraged to contact Viola Park Campground directly to inquire about current promotional offers and to get detailed information to ensure a smooth and enjoyable camping experience.

Viola Park Campground Reviews
My husband and I booked a camp spot here on our roadtrip west. The campground is laid out nicely. We took a swim in there nice swim area to cool down. There bathroom facilities are very clean and the showers had great water pressure. We had a nice dinner on the restaurant down by the docks. We got to put on our Missouri sticker here. 😁Definitely recommend.
Jul 23, 2023 · Keri LeeWe had a rocky start, but it turned out perfect. (37 ft travel trailer with 20 ft truck) We had gotten on the road a little late due to some mechanical issues, but planned to dump tanks when we got here. We decided to scope out our site; very tight road, downhill with lots of trees to get to our site! After we got there, didn't see water hook ups like I thought we had, so we backed up to fill our tank up. Then decided to go dump our tanks, which we discovered that the dump station was out of order. So, we had to drive 20 minutes up the road to a different campground to dump, with tight, curvy, windy, hilly, dark roads! Finally once we got settled that night, things were getting better. Next morning, we discovered the water spigot on the side of the electric pole (this was new to us). Additionally, we ended up not having any neighbors on either side of us or on any of the sights in front of us due to flooding. So we were blessed with a perfect view with a perfect spot to put in our kayaks, and a quiet campground. I really like the setup of the sites, there is a nice 2 tier patio with table and fire pit, with large retaining wall around the pad, which for us, created a great spot to cook food. All in all, despite the heat, it ended up being a great week.
