Great campground! Owners are very nice and the park itself is well kept and beautiful! Being right next to the Shenandoah River is really nice. If you are trying to go fishing, I suggest going up river a little bit where the water is deeper. There were a lot of fish there but none of them bit for us. 😓 the campground store opens on Memorial Day so it might be closed when you visit. The campsites all didn’t have sewers (I think) so you will need to use the dump station. Great campground, amazing views, worth a visit! - Eason Cai

The environment of Watermelon Park & RV Campground is clearly a major highlight. Its prime location directly next to the Shenandoah River provides campers with stunning views and immediate access to the river for various activities. The campground itself is described as "well kept and beautiful," suggesting attention to maintenance and an aesthetically pleasing setting. The presence of the river enhances the natural appeal, offering a tranquil backdrop for relaxation and recreation. Local users can expect a setting where they can immerse themselves in the beauty of the Shenandoah Valley, with opportunities for enjoying the sights and sounds of the river.

Based on customer feedback, the services at Watermelon Park & RV Campground are noteworthy. The owners are mentioned as "very nice," indicating a welcoming and hospitable atmosphere. The staff is also praised for "awesome customer service," particularly in relation to the tubing experience. This suggests that the campground prioritizes guest satisfaction and provides helpful and friendly service. While specific details about all available services are not provided in the reviews, we can infer some based on the nature of an RV campground and the activities mentioned.

Likely services include various types of campsites to accommodate both tent campers and RVs. One reviewer noted that the campsites "all didn’t have sewers (I think) so you will need to use the dump station," which implies the availability of a dump station for RVs. It also suggests that while water and electrical hookups might be available at some RV sites (though not explicitly stated), individual sewer hookups at each site may not be standard. Tent sites would likely offer a designated area for pitching tents. Access to restroom facilities is a standard expectation for any campground, and while not explicitly mentioned, it is almost certain that Watermelon Park & RV Campground provides these for its guests.

A significant feature of Watermelon Park & RV Campground is its direct access to the Shenandoah River. This offers opportunities for various water-based activities. One reviewer specifically mentioned going "tubing" and described the trip down the river as "about an hour and a half," highlighting this as a key recreational offering. The staff even includes drivers who presumably transport tubers to the starting point on the river, and the reviewer recommends tipping them, indicating this is a valued service. Another reviewer mentioned fishing in the river, although they suggested going "up river a little bit where the water is deeper" for better fishing prospects. This indicates that fishing is a popular activity for campers at this location.

The reviews also provide some practical information for potential visitors. There is a "campground store" that "opens on Memorial Day," so it might be closed during visits before this date. This suggests that campers may be able to purchase essential items or souvenirs at the store during peak season. The absence of individual sewer hookups at campsites is also a key piece of information for RV owners planning a stay. The overall sentiment from the reviews is highly positive, with descriptions like "great campground," "amazing views," and "worth a visit!"
