Wawaloam Campground Reviews
We enjoyed our time at this campground. Although we only stayed for a weekend, it was a fun time! Our campsite was by far the biggest one we've ever had and everyone there was friendly. Although we didn't get to use the amenities like the pool/waterslide they looked nice. The grounds were neat and tidy and when we first got there, the lady at the office was very nice. Though there isn't much to do around the area, it was very quiet and that was exactly what we were looking for. We will be back in the future!
Oct 07, 2024 · Megan RousseauHad a great trip with our 4 kids and dog. Campground offered a lot of activities to keep the kids engaged and entertained for hours. The water slide was a huge hit. We enjoys a peaceful campsite amount the trees. Nice mix of seasonal and transient sites - felt very welcome as a transient. Campground was one of the best stocked and never had to leave the grounds if we didn’t want to! Kids are begging to come back!
Aug 25, 2024 · Schwandt FamilyA really great campground. This might be the largest & busiest campground we’ve been to but it was never an issue. Fantastic, large & clean bathrooms. The workers were extremely friendly & there was a great camp store as well. While there, they put on a Xmas in July event. It was really fun to see all of the decorations & small parade rolling through.
Aug 09, 2024 · Matthew PhilipsUsually not one for a bad review but there were a few things about this place that I felt needed to be shared.I'll start off by saying that the scenery is very nice. Campsites are spacious, and nothing is overgrown, it's all well kept.Getting into the things that caught my attention. Number one being that our camper was situated at the back of the grounds, and that I had to walk at least 1/4 - 1/2 a mile to find the nearest shower. Once I got to the restroom, I found that the showers were coin operated, and there were no change machines around! The only one on the property (that I'm aware of) is at the laundromat in the general store. The water also began to overflow all over the floor. No "out of order" signs anywhere so no one would have known. Not to mention the Scherr amount of spiders....Secondly, the store and hours. After walking a half a mile to the shower, I decided I wanted a bottle of water, so I walked a cross the street to the general store. Granted it was still before 6am, so I didn't expect them to be open. Once I was there, I found that there were no signs stating their hours anywhere. I checked their website, and google, which didn't provide me with anything either. Even called their number, which told me they were on the line with another guest or that I had called after hours. How am I supposed to know when to reach you if you don't have your hours posted anywhere?Third thing is the management. Someone in my party stated that the staff at the store were not very great at answering their questions. On our first night we also called looking for the showers, which we were told were behind the general store. No showers. My friend and I then had to walk a cross the park to find them.If I were to recommend this place at all, I would say that it's worth just having a place to sleep in, and going to shower, eat, and extracurricular activities elsewhere. It's not too bad, but it surely needs all-round improvements if we're going to pay that much money to stay here again.
Jul 01, 2024 · Gbull AdventuresMy husband and I spent 7 days this year with our grandchildren visiting and were very pleased to with the pool and activities provided however I don't know if it was a off week for the cleaning crew but I was not pleased with the bathroom facilities. They were not in working order and very filthy. Three showers and only one worked most of the time. We were on a site with no plumbing so I relied on the shower facilities which I had to skip quite a few days. 2 of the showers didn't even have forcits and they didn't have any out of order sign in them. On a Saturday, the busiest day of the week there was no toilet paper in any of the stalls so I went into the men's side and found some in the cabinet cuz people were yelling to pass some from the other stalls but there was none. I was afraid to book for next year and didn't till these get resolved. I have friends there and love to visit but not if I'm not comfortable.
