New Colony Introduce
Welcome to New Colony, located at 3101 Homestead Duquesne Rd, West Mifflin, PA 15122, USA. Situated in West Mifflin, New Colony presents itself as a mobile home park that may offer affordable living options for local users. As a potential listing within the "RV parks near me" category, it could be considered by individuals and families seeking a long-term location for their mobile homes or recreational vehicles. For inquiries, you can contact New Colony at (724) 899-3303 or +1 724-899-3303.
Based on the available customer reviews, perspectives on New Colony appear to be varied. One reviewer with ownership within the park notes that it's "not TERRIBLE," particularly for those who own their trailers and generally do not face financial difficulties. This resident also highlights a positive aspect of the community, stating that it has been "quiet" under the management of the second company in their nearly two years of residence, with less unsolicited traffic. This suggests a potentially peaceful environment for those living within the park.
Another reviewer acknowledges that "theres issues here of course," as is common in any living situation. However, they suggest that for individuals with lower income or those seeking cheaper living options, New Colony "is not the worst place to be." This implies that affordability might be a key characteristic of the park, making it an accessible option for a certain segment of the population looking for "RV parks near me" or mobile home living.
A more concerning point raised by the same reviewer involves the history of reported incidents, mentioning "3 shootings over the last couple years." While they attempt to contextualize these incidents as "mostly been private disputes" and state that they have personally "never had a problem," such information is crucial for prospective residents to consider regarding safety and community environment. It is important to note that perceptions of safety can vary greatly among individuals.
In contrast to the more neutral or cautiously optimistic reviews, another former resident who lived in New Colony for two years expresses significant dissatisfaction. This reviewer describes the management as "money hungry jag offs," citing specific financial penalties for late payments or short payments. They also mention paying a substantial monthly rent for a double-wide trailer on what they describe as a "pice of slab and garbage" with no utilities included, deeming it an "insane amount." Furthermore, this former resident claims that the park has "really went down hill" and alleges the presence of "a bunch of druggies running the place" along with increasing rent. This strongly negative perspective highlights potential issues related to management practices, costs, and the overall community environment.
When considering New Colony as a potential option within the "RV parks near me" category for long-term RV stays, it is essential to weigh these contrasting opinions carefully. While the park may offer a quieter environment and potentially more affordable living compared to other options, the concerns raised about management, safety incidents, and the overall condition of the park cannot be ignored. Prospective RV residents should inquire specifically about the availability and suitability of RV lots, the terms of any rental agreements, the utility services provided and their associated costs, and the park's rules and regulations.
The information available does not provide specific details about the services and amenities offered within New Colony. Typically, mobile home parks that also accommodate RVs for long-term stays may offer basic utilities such as water, electricity, and sewer hookups. However, the negative review's mention of no utilities being included with the lot rent suggests that these might be billed separately or not consistently provided. It would be crucial for potential residents, whether for mobile homes or RVs, to clarify these details with the park management.
Given the conflicting accounts regarding the environment and management of New Colony, a thorough on-site visit is strongly recommended for any prospective resident. This would allow individuals to personally assess the current conditions of the park, observe the community atmosphere, and potentially speak with current residents to gain a broader range of perspectives. Direct interaction with the park management is also essential to clarify rental terms, fees, rules, and address any concerns arising from the reviews.
In conclusion, New Colony in West Mifflin, PA, presents a complex picture based on the available reviews. While some residents highlight its quiet nature and potential affordability, others express serious concerns about management practices, costs, and the overall environment. For local users searching for "RV parks near me" or affordable mobile home living, New Colony warrants careful consideration and thorough investigation. It is imperative to conduct a site visit and engage directly with the park management to form an informed opinion and determine if New Colony meets individual needs and expectations. The contrasting experiences suggest that while it might be a viable option for some, others may find the conditions and management practices unsuitable.

New Colony Reviews
Eh?It's not TERRIBLE... if you own and never have money problems. We own our trailer and other than a few months where we've been behind, we get left alone. This is the second company in almost two years that we've lived here, and it's quiet! People don't come here unless they need to.Theres issues here of course, there are anywhere, but if you're low on income or want cheaper living its not the worst place to be.There have been 3 shootings over the last couple years but once you look into them it's mostly been private disputes, and I have to say I've never had a problem. My daughter loves it!
May 21, 2020 · Skyler CharlesI lived here for two years until I had enough. The people who own this are money hungry jag offs. If you late buy a day 25 charge. If your check or money order is short 25 dollar charge. I payed 900 hundred a month for a double wide trailer. They have a bunch of druggies running the place now and rent is going up again. For a pice of slab and garbage no other utility included. That’s an insane amount. This place has really went down hill!
Nov 13, 2018 · C LairdI hate this park. They are under new management and the rent is raised with no new services provided. So basically we pay more and more money each year, but their crappy level of service remains the same, or if we're really lucky, their level of service goes down. They have two offices, apparently with only one woman running both, so there is never anyone around to answer the stupid phone. You leave messages, and have no replies back. Stupid inefficient management. This one star, which I was forced to select, would represent how pretty the area is, which has NOTHING to do with the park; Elizabeth is just a nice area.
Mar 07, 2015 · JustinandErikaOne of if not the most expensive in southwest PA although it's not near shopping or bus lines.Won't TNR cat population. You'll hear or see dying cats and kittens all the time. Won't cut grass in timely manners or will skip areas they're supossed to do and it becomes a mess. They'll block the street and fill in some nonexistent road holes though. Mailboxes aren't protected. Someone could open the whole thing and steal everyone's mail. There are rules against pools for some disturbing reason. Pools of a certain size do not quality for the fence laws. So I can't fathom the reasoning. On that note people will still put them up and hide them. Along with chickens. There's a rule to not park on the street and everyone does it. You'll be trying to go up a street and a pickup is blocking the lane. Why is this permitted? Where are the fines for this? There are teens that'll block the road coming up the hill and there have been some dangerous instances. There have been robberies. The one way in and one way out road is also a problem as well as it not having a walking path and there's always almost a crash at the blind spots. All these problems and more and they're still putting in scam $100,000 mobile homes.
Aug 18, 2021 · Annie ResureI’ve lived here for about 2 years now and it’s been great! Management and maintenance are both wonderful at addressing questions or concerns and it’s also very quiet!
