Glacier Valley Campground Introduce
Are you a local resident in Wisconsin searching for the perfect "camping near me" for your next outdoor adventure? Consider Glacier Valley Campground, located at N8129 Larson Rd, Cambria, WI 53923, USA. You can reach them at (920) 348-5488 or their mobile number +1 920-348-5488. This campground offers a variety of amenities and a generally well-regarded environment, making it a potential choice for families, groups, and individuals looking to enjoy the Wisconsin outdoors.
Glacier Valley Campground is situated in a location that has been appreciated by many visitors, particularly those traveling with families. One group of three families who stayed at the campground highlighted the "spacious" nature of the campsites, noting that they were conveniently located "just a short walk to all of the amenities." This suggests that the layout of the campground is designed for easy access to the various facilities and activities available.
For families with children, Glacier Valley Campground appears to be a hit. The presence of "playgrounds" and a "pond" were specifically mentioned as being enjoyed by the kids. Additionally, the inclusion of "mini golf" provides another source of entertainment for both children and adults, adding to the recreational opportunities within the campground itself. These amenities make it a potentially attractive option for those looking for a family-friendly camping experience.
The cleanliness of the facilities is another aspect that has received positive feedback. The "bathrooms and showers were pretty clean" according to one reviewer, which is an important factor for the comfort and overall satisfaction of campers. Maintaining clean and well-kept facilities contributes significantly to a pleasant camping experience.
While many aspects of Glacier Valley Campground have been praised, it's important to acknowledge some mixed feedback regarding the check-in experience. One reviewer expressed significant dissatisfaction, stating that the experience each of their three families had checking in was "one of the worst, unwelcoming experiences we have ever had camping." They described the owners/staff present as "not friendly" and "rude," noting a lack of basic greetings and a feeling of being an inconvenience. This feedback suggests a potential area for improvement in guest relations, particularly during the initial arrival process. It's worth noting that this negative experience was shared across multiple families within the same group, indicating a consistent issue during their check-in.
On a more positive note, another group, consisting of motorcyclists participating in the Cambria Dump Run for the second year, had a contrasting experience. They found the "hosts very welcoming and helpful with meeting our needs." This suggests that the hospitality offered might vary depending on the circumstances or perhaps the specific staff encountered. Their positive experience highlights the potential for a welcoming atmosphere and helpful service at Glacier Valley Campground.
This group of motorcyclists also praised the "cabins" they stayed in, describing them as "very clean, quiet and provide us with all we need!" This indicates that Glacier Valley Campground offers cabin rentals as an alternative to traditional tent or RV camping, providing a comfortable and well-maintained lodging option. The quiet nature of the cabins would appeal to those seeking a peaceful night's rest after a day of activities.
Furthermore, the motorcyclists noted that "the grounds are well taken care off and the other campers are very friendly." This contributes to a positive overall camping environment, where the physical surroundings are maintained and a sense of community exists among the guests. A well-maintained campground enhances the aesthetic appeal and safety of the area, while friendly fellow campers can enrich the social aspect of the camping experience.
Based on the information available, there are no specific promotional offers or discounts mentioned in the provided reviews. It would be advisable for local users interested in staying at Glacier Valley Campground to contact them directly at the provided phone numbers to inquire about any current specials, seasonal rates, or potential discounts for local residents or groups. In conclusion, Glacier Valley Campground near Cambria, Wisconsin, offers a range of amenities that make it appealing for families and groups looking for "camping near me." These include spacious campsites, playgrounds, mini golf, a pond, and clean bathroom and shower facilities. The campground also provides cabin rentals for those seeking a more sheltered accommodation option. While the majority of the feedback regarding the campground itself and its amenities is positive, there is a notable concern raised by one group regarding an unwelcoming check-in experience. However, another group of returning visitors, the motorcyclists, reported very welcoming and helpful hosts. This suggests that while the campground has much to offer in terms of environment and amenities, potential guests might want to be aware of the mixed feedback regarding initial interactions with staff. For local users considering a stay, contacting Glacier Valley Campground directly for booking information and to inquire about any current promotions would be a prudent step. Despite the mixed report on check-in, the positive comments on the facilities, cleanliness, and overall grounds suggest that Glacier Valley Campground could still be a worthwhile option for your next camping trip in Wisconsin.

Glacier Valley Campground Reviews
We stayed here with 3 other families and liked the campground and amenities. Our sites were spacious and were just a short walk to all of the amenities. Only issue with the site was there was a tree growing right next to the parking pad that drastically affected placement of the camper. Our kids all enjoyed the playgrounds, mini golf and loved the pond! Bathrooms and showers were pretty clean as well.I would have given this review 5 stars, however, the experience each family had checking in was one of the worst, unwelcoming experiences we have ever had camping. The owners/staff, whoever was there, were not friendly and were rude. Not a hi or hello when we arrived and we felt as though we were an inconvenience to them by "checking in" as the sign advised to do. When 3 different families experience the same thing I would say that you need to re-evaluate your camp host skills as we did not feel welcome upon arrival.
Jul 14, 2024 · Lori klisiewiczWe are motorcyclists and this is our second year of staying here while we participate in the Cambria Dump Run. The hosts are very welcoming and helpful with meeting our needs. The cabins we stay in are very clean, quiet and provide us with all we need! The grounds are well taken care off and the other campers are very friendly. Would definitely recommend this place.
Aug 28, 2024 · Mary ProvoI like to visit this campground due to the fact that I have family that have a seasonal site there and the campground is smaller but nice, however the customer service has definitely been a turn off for me. Of the times I have camped there I do not remember encountering a friendly worker in the store. I also just called recently to ask a question about an upcoming stay when the call went to voicemail, which in of itself is not a problem, but the call was ended before I could even leave a message. So I called again hoping to either speak to someone or leave a message, someone did answer and once I asked my question was answered with an unpleasant "you could have left a message, I was on the phone with someone else ." Needless to say I would not visit this campground if it weren't for my family!
Aug 19, 2024 · Heidi DGreat owners, very down to earth people. The pond with the DJ is a blast. We had a great sight right next to the pond. A great way to spend the fourth.Side note, lost my wedding ring and they took the time and also found that for me as well.I recommend this camp ground!
Jul 17, 2024 · Bryce WeilandIt was ok! Smaller size in everything!!! Bathrooms/Showers extremely small and old. Not at all Handicap accessible! The site we were on was kinda small cause we had a big electrical box and transformer that were leaning over. So we had to put a tent on the gravel rocks where you park. Had a bigger patch that had new grass and hay laid down that wasn’t cut. We had to get a an adapter for the electrical outlet cause a standard 3 prong outdoor extension cable wouldn’t fit. At first they told us they didn’t have any and we would have to drive 30 minutes to WalMart. Then later someone else said he found them with a $10 deposit. Store hours were very wishy washy. We left on a Monday at 9am to turn in adapter to get $ back from deposit and no one was still there. We finally just left and will not return. Staff did not seem very happy or welcoming at all upon arrival or other times we were in the store to get ice. Pond was smaller but had a nice blow-up obstacle course and a trampoline in the water that the kids loved. Did not have lots of activities for kids that went with the theme for the weekend. We had Xmas in July and they had a cane cane hunt. We didn’t even to bother with it. I felt like there were more dogs there then people and you could definitely hear them all day long! Sucks to be waken before 7am by barking dogs!
