Woods County Campground Introduce
Are you searching for "camping near me" in the Cloverdale, Oregon area for a relaxing getaway? Look no further than Woods County Campground, located in Cloverdale, OR 97112, USA. While its exact address is Cloverdale, OR 97112, it's important to note that Cloverdale is a small unincorporated community, and the campground's specific location might be easily found using GPS or by contacting them directly at (503) 322-3522 or +1 503-322-3522. Based on recent customer reviews, Woods County Campground offers a welcoming atmosphere, clean facilities, and a convenient location near the beautiful Pacific Beach, making it a strong contender for your next camping adventure.
One of the most consistently praised aspects of Woods County Campground is its exceptional camp host, Wendy. Multiple reviewers specifically mention Wendy by name, describing her as "awesome," "fantastic," and "very very very nice." Her positive and helpful demeanor appears to significantly enhance the camping experience for visitors. One reviewer even stated that Wendy "made my stay!" This level of positive interaction with the camp host can contribute greatly to a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere, making campers feel safe and well-cared for throughout their visit. Whether you are a seasoned camper or new to the experience, a friendly and helpful host can make all the difference.
The environment of Woods County Campground is described as being "by the road." While this might initially raise concerns about noise levels, several reviewers explicitly highlight that the campground is "much much much quieter" than other camping options in the area. One camper who had a negative experience at a nearby noisy campground specifically sought out Woods County Campground for its peaceful environment and was grateful for the availability and tranquility. This suggests that despite its roadside location, Woods County Campground offers a relatively quiet and restful setting, allowing campers to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings without excessive noise disruption. The presence of trees or thoughtful site placement might contribute to this quieter atmosphere.
A significant feature of Woods County Campground that receives high praise is the cleanliness of its bathrooms. Multiple reviewers specifically mention that the "bathrooms were always clean" and "very clean." Clean and well-maintained restroom facilities are a crucial aspect of any campground, contributing significantly to the comfort and overall satisfaction of campers. Knowing that the bathrooms are consistently clean can provide peace of mind and enhance the overall camping experience, especially for those who prioritize hygiene and comfort during their outdoor stays.
The location of Woods County Campground is also noted as a significant advantage. It is described as being "very close to pacific beach which is beautiful." This proximity to the coast offers campers easy access to the stunning Oregon coastline, with opportunities for beachcombing, scenic walks, and enjoying the Pacific Ocean. The convenience of being near Pacific Beach allows campers to easily incorporate beach activities into their camping trip without long travel times. The "great view" mentioned by one reviewer could also be related to the proximity to the coast or perhaps scenic views available from certain campsites within the campground itself.
In terms of availability, one reviewer who arrived "on a whim hoping for availability" was relieved to find "several spots available." This suggests that Woods County Campground might offer a good chance of finding a campsite, even without prior reservations, especially during less peak times. However, it is always advisable to call ahead, particularly during weekends and holidays, to ensure availability and secure your spot. The fact that there were only "five other sites taken" on a Sunday night for one reviewer could indicate a more relaxed and less crowded atmosphere compared to larger, more popular campgrounds.
The campsites themselves are described as "good" and "clean," with the added convenience of a "water spout" at each site. Having access to water at your campsite can be a significant convenience for cooking, cleaning, and other camping needs, eliminating the need to carry water long distances. The "good" size of the spaces suggests that campers have adequate room to set up their tents or park their RVs comfortably without feeling cramped.
One unique aspect mentioned in the reviews is that the camp host, Wendy, had a German Shepherd dog. While some might have concerns about dogs in campgrounds, the reviewer specifically noted that it "was NOT a problem, quite frankly it made me feel a little safer." This highlights Wendy's responsible pet ownership and the potential added sense of security that a friendly dog presence might offer to some campers. However, it is always good practice for campers with pets to ensure they are well-behaved and kept on leashes, respecting the comfort and safety of other campers.

Its awesome and helpful camp host Wendy, clean bathrooms, relatively quiet environment despite its roadside location, convenient access to Pacific Beach, and generally available campsites make it a worthwhile consideration for both tent and RV campers. Camp host Wendy was awesome and made my stay! Yes, this campground is by the road, but the location, availability, and camp host made it well worth my stay. Bathrooms were always clean, and the view was great to wake up to every morning!

My girlfriend and I were supposed to stay at sand beach campground but didn’t realize that it was dunebug central, we could not handle the noise and left after an hour.I drove here on a whim hoping for availability, and thank God. There were several spots available🙏🙏 Host Wendy was fantastic and very very very nice. The bathrooms were very clean. There were five other sites taken. Spaces were good, clean, water spout which was great and much much much quieter than our previous campground. Wendy also had a german Shepard dog. Was NOT a problem, quite frankly it made me feel a little safer. all in all, I would absolutely stay here again, very close to pacific beach which is beautiful. Thank you Wendy🙏🙏
Aug 19, 2024 · GabeLook, it's not the best campground if you want privacy, shade, or being in the woods. But if you like friendly hosts and engaging with people, having a nice fire and enjoying a wonderful little town. This is a nice easy spot to use. The night time scenery was amazing and walking around the town at night was wonderful.
Sep 17, 2024 · Random GuyQuant little campground right on the river and 3 miles from one of the best beaches in Oregon
Aug 11, 2023 · Nathan BraunQuiet campground removed from the bustle near the beach. It has a bathroom with a flushing toilet (no sink) and potable water. The beach and amenities are a short bike ride down the road although there is not much of a shoulder for biking at first (there is later near the bustle) but also the immediate road is not that busy.
