Yaak River Campground Reviews
Wow, what a great find. This has really been a highlight of our 5 month trip across the U.S. First, it is a beautiful setting on one of the best fishing rivers. The campsites are very private. They have potable water, dumpsters, bear storage, fire pits, and the cleanest pit toilets I have ever seen. The campground hosts were very knowledgeable and very helpful. Definitely recommend spending some time. We went after Labor Day, and it was very peaceful.
Sep 06, 2024 · Andrea SparksBeautiful, quiet, and serene. This campground is exactly what you are looking for if you want nothing more than to relax, enjoy the sounds of the beautiful Yaak and Kootenai Rivers, and do a little fishing, hiking, and swimming. The RV spots are nice and wide and level. There are sturdy picnic tables everywhere and bear-boxes for the tent sites. The bathrooms (pit toilets) are kept very clean and the campground is managed by the hosts Steve and Cindy. We will be returning here for sure!Disclaimer: Although everything mentioned above is true and accurate, I must disclose that the hosts are in fact my parents. 😁 But I'm sure you will love them as much as I do!!
Sep 24, 2018 · Nichole WeeksGreat and beautiful spot! A lot of the sites here have river access. Try going to the smaller loop, it’s a little bit spreading out and more privacy. Highway and train noise could be too much at but we were fine and happy with the site!
Sep 02, 2021 · Piaw KerdpechThis is one of our favorite campgrounds ever. We stumbled upon it as a stop over for 2 nights and we wish we could have stayed a week! The hosts were very nice, the place is spotless and so gorgeous! We camped right on the river and it was a really big site. There is one large trash dumpster at the entrance, bathrooms and water spickets were scattered around. If you decide to stay, go do the Kootenai Falls and suspension bridge, very cool!
Aug 01, 2023 · Diana PurcellYaak River Campground. Loved it. We just stopped in to use a picnic table for lunch and had a great time. It was a short walk to the river that had plenty of flat stones for learning how to skip rocks on the water. The restrooms were clean as was the picnic area. Great place for a quick family photo of three generations.
