Kootenai River Campground Reviews
We loved almost everything about this campground! Grassy spots at each site, well maintained. Lots of flowers in unique and cute containers everywhere with cute solar lights in the pots. The laundry room and showers are spotless and spacious. There is a nice big sink outside the laundry room. The playground is amazing. Swings, tire swing, tether ball, an outdoor play kitchen with accessories, a sandbox complete with sand toys and play trucks too! A nice gazebo with seating for about 12. Easy walk to the river with chairs and picnic tables. They will give you hints about what to see, where to go and how to get there whether rafting, hiking, motorcycle riding or driving. This would be a great campground for a family reunion. All the rv sites are pull through which is a bonus! The dog park isn't fenced but it's a big grassy area. It's right on a highway and the train goes by, but it didn't disturb us. The gift shop is amazing with reasonable prices. We are definitely coming back.
Aug 29, 2024 · Diane BrunkowWe had the best experience staying at Kootenai River Campground! The location is awesome, close to town as well as several cool spots to check out. The owners of the campground are some of the most kind and hospitable people you will find. They truly went above and beyond to ensure each camper was comfortable & equipped for the duration of their stay. They are also full of information on what to do if you need some help ironing out the details of your trip. The grounds are nicely maintained & the whole place has such a cozy feel to it. There is even a cute little playground for the kids. Would recommend staying here time and time again. So glad we had the opportunity to!
Jul 21, 2024 · Brazia BNice well kept campground. Spots are pretty close to each other, some have slightly more space then others with a picnic table and some grass and there are trees. My biggest complaint is it is right on the highway and all night long it has traffic, especially bad on the weekends. The pet area is only a few feet off the highway, considering my husband tends to drop the leash quite often it was a bit nerve wracking. Host was very helpful and friendly. We stayed in a RV, the tent sites are back farther and look pretty nice. There are also cabins for rent. There is a nice short walking trail through the trees down to the river but again it's right on the highway so not very peaceful! Nice chairs to sit on by the river but you have to hope no one throws something off the bridge, lol!
Sep 23, 2024 · Karen DWe stayed here one night while passing through. The owner Chris was a super nice guy. The campground was immaculately taken care of. Our site was super clean with beautiful green grass. There is river access which is very nice. Would definitely recommend staying here. Definitely will again in the future.
Jun 13, 2024 · Thomas AllisonWe loved the campground from the minute we pulled in to check in. We were there for 2 nights in a pull thru site. The sites are a little close but very nice. If you needed an extra power cord, he would bring you one. It was very quiet and we didn't really hear any road noise. If you need ideas of places to go in the area, the owners will be able to help you. They have a site, bathrooms, showers laundry and there are also cabins available the tent sites looked really nice. The owners did there was a path to the river and they had tables and chairs for you to relax in. The playground was really nice and they had a sandbox with lots of toys for the kids. The wifi didn't work much so we had to go into Troy to text our kids. We will definitely stay here again if we are in the area.
