They can be reached at (541) 957-7001 or +1 541-957-7001 for inquiries and reservations. Based on the available customer reviews, Umpqua Dunes RV Park offers both RV sites and cabin rentals, with a focus on providing access to the recreational opportunities of the nearby dunes.
Environment and Setting:
Umpqua Dunes RV Park is situated in Winchester Bay, Oregon, a location renowned for its proximity to the expansive Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area. This suggests that the environment surrounding the RV park is characterized by sandy terrain and opportunities for dune-related activities. The fact that one reviewer mentioned hauling a sandrail and side-by-side indicates that the area is popular among off-road vehicle enthusiasts. The recent improvements made by the county, as noted by a long-time visitor, suggest an ongoing effort to enhance the facilities and overall environment of the RV park. The reviewer who stayed in a smaller cabin found it, along with the restroom and shower, to be "sparkling clean," indicating a focus on cleanliness and maintenance within the developed areas of the park. The experience of having the entire campground to themselves during a Sunday-Tuesday stay suggests that occupancy levels might vary depending on the time of the week and potentially the season.
Services and Amenities:
Umpqua Dunes RV Park offers both RV sites and cabin rentals, catering to different accommodation preferences. The availability of cabins, as highlighted by one reviewer's positive experience with a clean and comfortable smaller cabin, is a significant amenity for those who prefer a more structured lodging option than traditional RV or tent camping. The mention of restrooms and showers, which were also reported as "sparkling clean," indicates that these essential facilities are well-maintained. The presence of camp hosts, specifically Karen and her husband, who were described as "very friendly," suggests that on-site management is available to assist guests and maintain a welcoming atmosphere. However, one negative review mentioned a significant charge for parking a truck and trailer used to haul off-road vehicles, which the reviewer felt was excessive and not adequately communicated during check-in. This suggests that there may be specific parking fees for additional vehicles or trailers, particularly those associated with recreational equipment.
Features and Activities:
The primary feature of Umpqua Dunes RV Park is its close proximity to the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, making it an ideal base for those interested in exploring the dunes with ATVs, sandrails, side-by-sides, or other off-road vehicles. The mention of hauling such equipment by one reviewer underscores this connection. While direct access from the RV park to the dunes isn't explicitly stated, its name and location strongly imply convenient access. The availability of cabin rentals provides an alternative to RV camping, potentially attracting a broader range of visitors. The friendly camp hosts contribute to a positive and welcoming environment for guests. However, potential visitors with additional vehicles or trailers for hauling recreational equipment should be aware of potential parking fees and ensure clear communication with the RV park management regarding these costs.
Important Considerations:
Prospective local users should be aware of a significant concern raised by one reviewer regarding unexpected and high parking fees for vehicles and trailers used to transport off-road recreational vehicles. This negative experience highlights the importance of clearly understanding all fees and parking policies before booking, especially if traveling with additional vehicles or trailers. The discrepancy in perception regarding communication about parking fees suggests that it would be prudent to confirm these details directly with the RV park management during the reservation process. While one reviewer had a very positive experience with clean facilities and friendly hosts, the other review presents a cautionary tale about potential hidden costs and communication issues.

Umpqua Dunes RV Park Reviews
My husband and I have been coming here for years! We really love the changes that the county has made and the improvements are fantastic! This time we stayed in one of the smaller cabins. the cabin, restroom, and shower were sparkling clean! We stayed Sunday-Tuesday and had the entire campground to ourselves. Karen and her husband the camp hosts were very friendly. We will definitely be coming back!
Jan 16, 2025 · Julie ScherrerOver charged us to park truck and trailer to haul our sandrail and side x side 198.00 for 2 days is ridiculous and we could of parked somewhere for alot less and then ask if we where sleeping in our truck when we were there with our friends in their r.v. I thought when you checked in you had to register your camp r.v. and if you don't register one they should tell you we have 10.00 parking over there. Needless to say won't go there ever again....seems like when you want to keep your money local you get screwed
Apr 15, 2025 · Sherry TresslerGreat spot with plenty of room to park, camp host was very nice. My only complaint was the shower house felt like it was lacking water flow and a dry spot to change, and the stray cats getting into the garbage and eating scraps off the Blackstone were annoying
Dec 20, 2024 · Chris HWe have been staying at umpqua dunes every mid-september for last 6-7 yrs perfect dunes access, we did have a theft of a quad a few yrs back but we recovered the quad with the assistance of Douglas County SO overall for our family and friends it's a nice place to stay
Oct 30, 2024 · Bryon VonraderThis is the first time we have stayed here since the new remodel of the campground. We had such a great experience. The facilities are very clean and well laid out. Access to the dunes is a breeze and the on site store with fuel available makes this place a perfect destination. Their was a karaoke party one night that was such a good time for us, and several other random campers came to enjoy the entertainment. The campground is perfect for all ages.
