The environment of Bad Medicine Campground has been described by visitors as "super pretty" and possessing an "elf fantasy like" quality. Imagine being surrounded by lush moss-covered trees and a serene woodland atmosphere that feels almost magical. This secluded setting offers a genuine immersion into nature, providing a peaceful contrast to the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The campground is also conveniently located near the beautiful Bull Lake, offering easy access for water-based activities. One visitor specifically mentioned the enjoyable experience of paddling around the lake, spending three hours exploring its waters. This suggests that the campground is an excellent choice for those who appreciate lake access for activities such as kayaking, canoeing, or simply enjoying the scenic views from the water.
While the provided information doesn't detail specific services like restrooms or water facilities, the emphasis on the natural beauty and lake access suggests a more rustic camping experience focused on immersing oneself in the outdoors. It's advisable to contact the campground directly at the provided phone numbers to inquire about the availability of specific amenities and to ensure it meets your needs and expectations. Given the positive reviews regarding the environment and lake, it's likely that the basic necessities for a comfortable camping trip are available.
A significant feature of Bad Medicine Campground is its proximity to Bull Lake and the opportunities it affords for recreational activities. The positive feedback about paddling on the lake highlights this as a key draw for visitors. Whether you're an avid paddler or simply enjoy being near the water, the easy access from the campground to Bull Lake enhances the overall camping experience. The "very nice lake to put in on" suggests convenient launching points for canoes, kayaks, or other small watercraft, making it easy to spend hours exploring the lake's tranquil waters.
However, it is crucial to note a significant limitation mentioned by a recent visitor: Bad Medicine Campground is "NOT A CAMPGROUND FOR LONG TRAILERS OR LARGE RVS." The reviewer specifically pointed out the "narrow road and sharp turns" leading to the campground, which would make navigating and maneuvering large vehicles challenging, if not impossible. Additionally, the road to the nearby Cedar Grove was reported to have "no turn around space for trailers," further emphasizing the unsuitability of the area for larger recreational vehicles. Therefore, if you are a local user with a tent, smaller campervan, or a compact RV, Bad Medicine Campground might be an ideal fit. However, those with long trailers or large RVs should seriously consider alternative campgrounds in the "camping near me" category that offer better accessibility.
The enchanting, "elf fantasy like" atmosphere, characterized by mossy woods, is another unique feature that sets Bad Medicine Campground apart. This creates a truly immersive and memorable camping experience, particularly for those who appreciate a secluded and aesthetically pleasing natural environment. The description evokes a sense of tranquility and wonder, suggesting a perfect place to escape the stresses of daily life and reconnect with nature in a beautiful setting.

Bad Medicine Campground Reviews
Super pretty only went to the day use but very nice lake to put in on and paddle around the lake spent 3 hours on the lake paddling around
Jul 24, 2022 · Paul HBeautiful campground tucked away in the woods. Very elf fantasy like. The moss and the woods were just enchanting. THIS IS NOT A CAMPGROUND FOR LONG TRAILERS OR LARGE RVS. Narrow road and sharp turns. Also, the road to the cedar Grove nearby had no turn around space for trailers.
Oct 04, 2016 · Deborah CauseyNice camp ground, lots of shade. Walking distance to boat launch. Main road is paved.
Jul 18, 2022 · Melody MeadeGreat place, and well taken care of. Roads and camp spots are a little tight but did manage to navigate a 34-foot 5th wheel through.
Jul 28, 2023 · Greg SheumakerThe outhouse smells absolutely awful. This alone would make me not want to return until it's fixed. Terrible compared to some other states and sites I've visited recently. Minimal trash throughout campsites and natural areas, it's been picked up some recently by patrons or staff... very nice host. Our campsite was also downwind from the bathroom we found out, but there were clear spots with room for a 2.5 person tent plenty deep into the woods so we could get away from it mostly. Lots of hammock space here and firewood available, a sturdy flat cut of wood left at the campsite to chop our logs on.The Ross Cedar Park had some obnoxious patrons, lots of yelling adults and screaming/destructive children, cigarette smoking and littering trash and dog bags. Wildlife we were spotting would flee as other people approached, and it was horrible being disturbed by a never-ending stream of rambunctious operas of inconsiderate goonishness. Please tend to & respect the natural areas, plants and wildlife, other guests, and the nature sounds! It is not a daycare or amusement park! We picked up some lost water bottles and trash on the way out. There was also some nauseating conspiracy nonsense pasted on the outhouse doors-- rangers should be sure to check these areas.
