Alligator Campground Introduce
If you are searching for "RV parks near me" in the Hammond, Louisiana area, Alligator Campground, located at 45076 Alligator Dr, Hammond, LA 70401, USA, is listed as a potential option. They can be reached by phone at (985) 878-2291 or their mobile number +1 985-878-2291 for inquiries.
When selecting an RV park, safety, maintenance, and the overall environment are paramount considerations. The online reviews for Alligator Campground present extremely serious concerns that potential visitors should be aware of and carefully consider before making any decisions to stay at this location.
One particularly alarming review describes Alligator Campground as "hell on earth!" The former resident leveled numerous severe accusations against the park, including claims of "lousy employees" and a maintenance man who allegedly spreads negative gossip. Furthermore, they reported significant issues with the upkeep of the grounds, stating that "lots aren’t cut on regular basis," and there is "trash all over" with "garbage coming out of the dumpsters." Infrastructure problems were also mentioned, such as "lots of pot holes."
Beyond maintenance concerns, this reviewer detailed a disturbing pattern of safety and criminal activity witnessed during their time at the campground. These allegations include a "swat team rip open a trailer based on false statements," frequent ambulance presence, and "lots of criminal activity" encompassing theft, drugs, and assaults. They also reported an unsettling incident of a "lady taking pictures/video of family on the next road," as well as "a few drug overdoses and the coroner’s office getting body of person who died of overdose." The reviewer further claimed that there were attempts to break into their vehicles and trailer, resulting in damages. This individual expressed extreme dissatisfaction and relief at their impending departure.
Another, albeit briefer, review echoed concerns about the park's infrastructure, stating that the "roads to your trailer is not the very best." This corroborates the previous reviewer's mention of potholes and suggests potential issues with the overall condition and navigability of the roads within the campground.
Additionally, this second reviewer noted that the "trailers" (it is unclear if they are referring to RVs or permanent mobile homes within the campground) do not have numbers. This lack of clear identification could potentially cause confusion for visitors, emergency services, or deliveries.
The information gleaned from these reviews paints a deeply troubling picture of Alligator Campground. The serious allegations of criminal activity, safety issues, and neglect of maintenance raise significant red flags for anyone seeking a safe and comfortable RV park. The stark contrast between the park's listing as an option for "RV parks near me" and the experiences shared by these former residents necessitates extreme caution.
Given the severity of the claims, it is imperative for anyone considering a stay at Alligator Campground to conduct thorough due diligence. This should include attempting to contact the park management using the provided phone numbers to seek explanations and clarifications regarding the issues raised in the reviews. However, it is important to approach any information received from the management with a critical eye, given the negative experiences reported.
Prospective visitors should also consider visiting the campground in person to assess the conditions firsthand. A site visit would allow you to observe the state of the grounds, the roads, the cleanliness, and the general atmosphere of the park. Pay close attention to any signs of neglect, safety concerns, or unusual activity.
It would also be prudent to check with local authorities, such as the Hammond Police Department or the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office, to inquire if they have any records or reports related to incidents or safety concerns at Alligator Campground. This could provide an objective perspective on the claims made in the reviews.
Given the extremely negative nature of the available feedback, it is difficult to recommend Alligator Campground based solely on this information. The allegations of criminal activity, poor maintenance, and safety issues are severe and should not be taken lightly. While the park is listed under "RV parks near me," the experiences shared by former residents suggest that it may not provide a safe or pleasant environment for travelers or long-term residents.
In conclusion, the online reviews for Alligator Campground in Hammond, Louisiana, raise significant and alarming concerns regarding safety, maintenance, and the overall environment. Potential visitors should exercise extreme caution, conduct thorough independent investigations, and carefully weigh the risks before considering a stay at this location. The negative feedback is substantial and should not be ignored when making decisions about where to park your RV or reside.

Alligator Campground Reviews
This place is hell on earth! Lousy employees, maintenance man goes around spewing all kinds of garbage about people when he’s a total mess himself. Lots aren’t cut on regular basis, trash is all over, lots of pot holes, garbage coming out of the dumpsters. Since we’ve lived here we’ve seen swat team rip open a trailer based on false statements, ambulances frequently here, lots of criminal activity (theft, drugs, assaults, lady taking pictures/video of family on the next road, a few drug overdoses and the coroner’s office getting body of person who died of overdose. They have attempted to break into our vehicles & trailer and damages to both. So glad we will be out of here any day now
