Appalachian RV Resort Introduce
For local users seeking "RV Parks Near Me" in the Sevierville, Tennessee area, with proximity to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and popular attractions like Dollywood and Gatlinburg, Appalachian RV Resort, located at 3330 Line Springs Rd, Sevierville, TN 37862, USA, presents itself as a potential option. However, the available online reviews offer contrasting experiences, which necessitate a careful and objective evaluation for prospective guests.
One recent review expresses significant dissatisfaction with the owner and the park's handling of a camper purchase. The reviewer states they paid a $2300 down payment on a 2022 Mallard camper, only to discover that the bedroom air conditioning and the awning were not functional. They allege that they were told these issues were their responsibility. Furthermore, they mentioned that the cable television did not work, which, while a lesser concern, added to their negative experience. The reviewer specifically highlighted the poor treatment of their 73-year-old disabled father-in-law, who reportedly could not sleep during his one-night stay and was denied a refund. As a result, the reviewer indicated their intention to file complaints with the FHA, BBB, and small claims court, referring to the owner as a "crook" and advising against long-term stays.
In contrast, another recent review offers a highly positive perspective. The reviewers, a husband and wife who enjoyed their experience so much that they purchased property at the resort, described it as "wonderful and welcoming." They praised the owner, Dan, for going out of his way to help, and Carolyn as "precious." They recommended Appalachian RV Resort for vacations, suggesting that visitors would "never be disappointed." The location was highlighted for its proximity to Dollywood (a few miles away) and a short scenic drive to Gatlinburg. The review also emphasized the natural beauty surrounding the resort, offering opportunities for relaxation, grilling out, and enjoying time with family. Nearby attractions mentioned include Cades Cove, rivers for wading, a swimming hole, and numerous hiking trails within a short drive, making it a "hiker's dream." The reviewers concluded by stating they had "no complaints just compliments" and expressed their gratitude to Dan.
These two reviews present a stark dichotomy of experiences at Appalachian RV Resort. The positive review emphasizes the welcoming atmosphere, the helpfulness of the owner and staff, the convenient location near major attractions and natural sites, and the overall enjoyment of the resort. The negative review, however, raises serious concerns about the honesty and customer service of the owner, particularly regarding the sale of a camper and the treatment of a guest with a disability. These conflicting accounts make it crucial for potential local users to weigh these perspectives carefully.
Based on the positive review, Appalachian RV Resort appears to offer several appealing features and benefits:
- Convenient Location: Close proximity to popular attractions like Dollywood and a short drive to Gatlinburg, making it an ideal base for exploring the area.
- Natural Beauty: Surrounded by the scenic landscapes of the Smoky Mountains, offering opportunities for enjoying nature, including rivers and hiking trails.
- Family-Friendly Atmosphere: Described as a welcoming place for families to enjoy vacations and create memories.
- Helpful Owner and Staff: The owner, Dan, is mentioned for going out of his way to assist guests, and Carolyn is described as precious.
- Long-Term Stay Options: The fact that the reviewers purchased property suggests the availability and appeal of long-term residency.
- Access to Outdoor Activities: Proximity to Cades Cove, rivers for wading, a swimming hole, and numerous hiking trails caters to nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts.
However, the negative review introduces significant counterpoints that cannot be ignored:
- Allegations of Dishonest Practices: Claims of misrepresenting the condition of a camper being sold and refusing to address issues.
- Poor Customer Service: Reports of unhelpful and dismissive treatment, particularly towards a guest with a disability.
- Financial Disputes: A dispute over a down payment and a lack of refund for an unsatisfactory stay.
Given these conflicting reports, it is essential for local users considering Appalachian RV Resort to proceed with caution and seek further information. The phone numbers provided, (865) 202-3584 and +1 865-202-3584, offer a direct means of contacting the resort. When calling, prospective guests should inquire about the current management policies, the availability of RV sites and long-term options, the amenities offered, and any recent changes or feedback from other guests. It might also be beneficial to ask about the process for purchasing campers through the resort, if that is a service of interest.
Visiting the Appalachian RV Resort in person could also provide valuable insights into the current environment and the overall atmosphere. Observing the condition of the facilities and, if possible, speaking with current residents (perhaps those not directly affiliated with the positive or negative reviews) could offer a more balanced perspective.
In conclusion, Appalachian RV Resort offers a potentially attractive location for exploring the Smoky Mountains and nearby attractions. While one review highlights a wonderful and welcoming experience with a helpful owner, another raises serious allegations of dishonesty and poor customer service. Local users searching for "RV Parks Near Me" should carefully consider these contrasting viewpoints and conduct thorough personal investigation before making a decision. Contacting the resort directly and possibly visiting the property are strongly recommended to gain a comprehensive understanding of the current conditions and services offered.

Appalachian RV Resort Reviews
Location is great. What i have a problem with is a dishonest owner. We were going to purchase a camper and paid a down-payment of total of $2300, only to find out the camper which is a 2022 mallard the ac did not work in bedroom, we were told that was our problem, the awning did not work, again our problem, the cable didn't work which isn't as big an issue but the fact that my 73 year old disabled father in law was treated poorly (stayed one night and couldn't even sleep and we were told no on getting any of the money back) so I will be filing proper procedures with fha, bbb, and small claims court. Slumlords are frowned upon. Don't ever stay long term. Guy is a crook.
Jun 13, 2024 · MalachiMy husband and I wanted to write a review and say how wonderful and welcoming it is here. We love it so much that we bought here. Our family loves it. The owner Dan goes out of his way to help and Carolyn is precious. I hope when you consider a vacation for a few days you will come here. You will never be disappointed. You can take your family a few miles down town to Dollywood and a short scenic drive to Gatlinburg. Well, maybe you may want to chill out and enjoy all the glorious nature around you, then this place is for you. You’re close to Cades Cove, rivers to wade in to your hearts delight or grill out and have fun with your family. A swimming hole not far away. A hikers dream within a short drive. Many trails to explore awaits you. If you like your vacay simple and fun then this is the place for you. In a world of reviews there will always be those that will complain, we have no complaints just compliments. Thank you Dan. You’re just great. 😊
Feb 05, 2024 · Parker BrownThis is not a resort. Host/owner not available when we wanted to check in. I had to call him and he asked us to wait a few minutes - 30 minutes later he showed up and gave us a site.He had no record of our prepaid reservation and provided nothing at check in - like wifi info, park info, etc. Restaurant not open with cob webs everywhere indicating it hasn't been open for quite some time. The views are nothing special and there is no secret entrance to Cade's Cove - it's a 22 mile drive. Not worth the cost when there are so many better parks in the area to chose from.
May 12, 2023 · Debi & Joe CuccinottoBin here about a year and a bit, we love it, it's quite and simple kinda life out here. The people are very friendly, and the owner has bin very friendly to us and helpful. People mind the own business and I feel like it's for people wanting to get away from all the fluff and get back to a simplistic quite life. We Love it.
