Arrowhead Marina & RV Park Introduce
For local travelers and those passing through the Schenectady, NY area seeking serene "RV parks near me," Arrowhead Marina & RV Park, located at 2 Van Buren Ln, Schenectady, NY 12302, USA, offers a unique and tranquil escape. Situated just outside the bustle of the city, this privately owned park boasts a picturesque wooded setting with extensive waterfront access along the Erie Canal system. Based on glowing reviews from satisfied visitors, Arrowhead Marina & RV Park provides a well-maintained and welcoming environment for RVers looking for a peaceful retreat.
One of the standout features of Arrowhead Marina & RV Park, as highlighted by a traveler from Michigan, is its prime location. Described as "a private place outside of all the busyness of this city," it offers a sense of seclusion and tranquility while still being accessible. The park's integration with a large waterfront and marina, part of the historic Erie Canal system, adds a unique charm and provides opportunities for scenic enjoyment. The presence of mature trees contributes to a pleasant, shaded environment, enhancing the feeling of being in a natural setting.
The park is praised for its well-maintained sites. The availability of pull-through sites is particularly convenient for RVers, making setup and departure easier, especially for larger rigs. This thoughtful amenity can significantly reduce the stress often associated with maneuvering and positioning an RV. According to one reviewer, their requested pull-through site was easy to get set up, indicating attention to the needs of traveling RVers.
The management and staff at Arrowhead Marina & RV Park consistently receive positive feedback. The "woman at the office" is specifically mentioned for being "very friendly and accommodating." This welcoming and helpful service can greatly enhance the overall experience for guests, making them feel valued and well-cared for. The fact that the office was able to provide local recommendations, such as a nearby pizza place with their menu, demonstrates a commitment to guest satisfaction beyond just providing a campsite.
The atmosphere of Arrowhead Marina & RV Park is described as quiet and relaxing. The large park offers ample space for walking pets or simply taking leisurely strolls, allowing guests to enjoy the natural surroundings at their own pace. The thoughtful provision of chairs set up to take in the "great view of the water" encourages relaxation and appreciation of the scenic environment. Guests can comfortably enjoy a beverage, have lunch, or read a book while soaking in the peaceful ambiance. One reviewer enthusiastically stated, "very nice atmosphere I must say," underscoring the positive impression the park leaves on its visitors.
While Arrowhead Marina & RV Park may not offer extensive amenities like a pool or playground, as noted by a satisfied guest, this is not necessarily seen as a drawback by all visitors. For those seeking a quieter, more nature-focused experience, the absence of such features can be a benefit, contributing to the overall tranquility of the park. As one reviewer aptly put it, "did not need them," indicating that the other qualities of the park more than compensated for the lack of these traditional campground amenities.
The proximity of Arrowhead Marina & RV Park to Interstate 90 is also highlighted as a significant convenience for travelers. Easy access to major highways is a crucial factor for those on the road, making it a practical stopover point without being immersed in the noise and congestion of the highway itself. The balance between accessibility and peacefulness seems to be a key strength of this location.
The mention of occasional trains passing by might be a consideration for some visitors sensitive to noise. However, one reviewer who enjoys listening to trains noted that they were not "supper close" and did not pose an issue for their stay. This suggests that while there might be some train noise, it is generally not disruptive to the peace and quiet of the park.
Arrowhead Marina & RV Park is identified as a "great family owned campground." This often translates to a more personal and attentive level of service, as the owners are typically invested in ensuring the satisfaction of their guests and the upkeep of their property. The positive reviews regarding maintenance ("FANTASTIC job maintaining it") support this notion, indicating a pride of ownership and a commitment to providing a pleasant environment for visitors.
In terms of pricing, one reviewer mentioned a rate of $50.00 per day for their site, which they deemed "reasonable." This suggests that Arrowhead Marina & RV Park offers competitive rates for the quality of the experience and the amenities provided, particularly the waterfront location and well-maintained grounds. It is important to note that the park operates on a cash or check-only basis, so visitors should be prepared with the appropriate form of payment.
In conclusion, for local users and those traveling through the Schenectady area seeking a tranquil and well-maintained "RV park near me," Arrowhead Marina & RV Park offers a compelling option. Its location just outside the city provides a peaceful, wooded setting with beautiful waterfront access to the Erie Canal. The park is praised for its friendly and accommodating service, convenient pull-through sites, quiet atmosphere, and pet-friendly environment with ample walking space. While it may not have amenities like a pool or playground, its focus on natural beauty, tranquility, and excellent maintenance makes it an ideal choice for those seeking a relaxing and scenic RV getaway. The positive reviews and the reasonable daily rate further enhance its appeal. Arrowhead Marina & RV Park is highly recommended for those looking for a serene and convenient stop along their journey or a peaceful local retreat.

Arrowhead Marina & RV Park Reviews
Was in Boothbay Me on vacation and we are driving back home to Mich. Decided to stop off in Schenectady NY and stay a few days. Read the reviews and we went with Arrowhead RV Park and Marina. A private place outside of all the busyness of this city. A very nice wooded park with a large waterfront and Marina, part of Erie canal system. Nice maintained sites and we requested a pull through, easy to get set up. Woman at the office was very friendly and accommodating to us. Only take cash or check. Asked about a pizza place near by and she gave us their menu. We took her recommendation and gave them a try, but that’s another review I will write. Quiet and nice big park for walking your pet or taking a stroll. Chairs set up for your use and a great view of the water, have a beverage, eat your lunch, read a book, very nice atmosphere I must say. Our site was 50.00/ per day , reasonable. Look forward to staying here, highly recommend! Debbie/ Mich. 🍁🍂
Sep 25, 2024 · Debbie HohnGreat family owned campground. They do a FANTASTIC job maintaining it. They do not have amenities like pool and playground but did not need them. Great quite spot along the river some trains but I enjoy listening to them and they are not supper close so no issues for us. Would definitely stay here again very convenient of 90 as well.
Aug 15, 2024 · Charmin McCrackenIt was a nice one night stop. The site we were on was fairly level but not overly large. Our trailer fit fine but not sure if there would have been room for our screen house too. The campground was quite clean and well managed. The water hook up was very close to the ground. The reservation system was phone in and then send in a check. It worked fine but meant we didn’t have a confirmation number. The campground was relatively close to a small town, though we stayed on site.
Jun 12, 2024 · M&M P.This is a nice RV park . We were in a class A. Park is very nice. WiFi was good!. No sewage but was there for only one night. Would stay again.
Oct 08, 2024 · John SchmitzQuiet, lush green everywhere, and alongside the river! Excellent dog run for Rufus too! Easy access off the freeway. We ate at the Max410, outstanding seafood!
