Ashland R.V. Park Introduce
Welcome to Ashland R.V. Park, a well-regarded campground located at 1378 Gilman Ave, Marietta, OH 45750, USA. If you are searching for "RV parks near me" in the Marietta area, Ashland R.V. Park offers a blend of convenience, cleanliness, and a welcoming atmosphere, making it an excellent choice for both short overnight stays and longer visits to the region. With positive reviews highlighting its friendly owners, practical amenities, and convenient location, Ashland R.V. Park caters to a variety of travelers and those looking for a comfortable base while exploring southeastern Ohio.
Based on the provided customer reviews, Ashland R.V. Park boasts several key features that make it appealing to RV enthusiasts. One recurring theme is its convenient location – described as "near town, but out a short way." This offers the advantage of easy access to the amenities and attractions of Marietta while still providing a slightly more secluded and peaceful camping experience. For those visiting for events like the annual Sternwheel Festival or to see family in the area, this proximity is a significant benefit, allowing for easy commuting and exploration.
The park offers a range of hookup options to accommodate different RV needs. While full hookups (sewer, water, and electricity) are available, they are often occupied by seasonal campers. However, many sites, particularly on the upper level, provide electricity and water hookups. This flexibility ensures that most RVers can find a suitable site. A significant convenience is the readily accessible dump station located near the entrance/exit, simplifying the process of managing waste for those with partial hookups or those staying for shorter periods.
Ashland R.V. Park is also noted for its family-friendly amenities. The presence of a playground and a basketball court provides recreational opportunities for children, making it a comfortable choice for families traveling with kids. Furthermore, the strict enforcement of the speed limit within the park ensures a safe environment for children to ride their bikes and for everyone to move around the campground. This focus on safety adds to the overall appeal for families seeking "RV parks near me."
Pet owners will also appreciate Ashland R.V. Park's dog-friendly policy. The reviews mention "plenty of green space to walk your dog," indicating that there are ample areas for your furry companions to exercise and enjoy the outdoors. This welcoming attitude towards pets is a significant plus for the many RV travelers who bring their animals along.
The park's facilities are consistently praised for their cleanliness. The bathrooms are described as "large and clean," and while one reviewer noted they hadn't used the shower room or laundry facilities, the cleanliness of the bathrooms suggests that these amenities are likely well-maintained too. A separate bathhouse with individual men's and women's restrooms and a separate shower in between, all with locking doors, provides privacy and convenience for guests.
The campsites themselves are described as being of a "good size" and offering shade due to the presence of mature trees. While the roads within the park are gravel and the sites are grass, one reviewer with a 38' 5th wheel reported "never had an issue with getting in and set up," indicating that the park can accommodate larger RVs. Another reviewer noted that the ground was fairly hard, suggesting good drainage even though there is no gravel or concrete on the sites themselves.
While Ashland R.V. Park is not characterized as a "resort with activities and other large amenities," its strengths lie in its quiet atmosphere, well-maintained grounds, and convenient location near shopping and other local conveniences. This makes it an ideal choice for those who prefer a more relaxed and less crowded camping experience while still having easy access to necessities and local attractions.
The owners, Darcie and Steve, receive high praise in the reviews, being described as "very friendly and helpful." One reviewer also noted that the owner was "very responsive on multiple occasions" when contacted via phone. This positive feedback regarding the management underscores a commitment to guest satisfaction and a welcoming attitude that can significantly enhance the overall camping experience.
For those searching for "RV parks near me" for an overnight stop, Ashland R.V. Park is highlighted as a "nice and economical choice." Its basic yet clean and safe environment, coupled with the availability of 50 amp and 30 amp power at every site along with water, makes it a practical option for travelers passing through the area. The presence of a good website with additional information is also a helpful resource for planning your stay.
In conclusion, Ashland R.V. Park, located at 1378 Gilman Ave, Marietta, OH, offers a compelling option for RV travelers seeking a clean, quiet, and conveniently located campground. Its friendly owners, well-maintained facilities (including clean bathrooms and a convenient dump station), and family-friendly amenities like a playground and basketball court make it suitable for a variety of needs, from overnight stays to longer visits for events like the Sternwheel Festival or to see family. While it may not offer the extensive amenities of a resort-style park, its focus on the essentials – safety, cleanliness, and convenience – along with the positive feedback regarding its management and community feel, make Ashland R.V. Park a highly recommended choice for those exploring the "RV parks near me" in the Marietta, Ohio area. Ashland R.V. Park Reviews
We love this campground. It's near town, but out a short way. We stay here every year for the Sternwheel Festival and to visit family in the area. We've managed to get full hookups (usually filled with seasonal campers) a few times but are normally on the upper level with electricity and water. They have a dump station near the entrance/exit that's very convenient. There is a playground and a basketball court for the kids, and the speed limit is strictly enforced, so it's very safe for kids to ride their bikes. There is plenty of green space to walk your dog (very dog friendly) or play a game. The bathrooms are large and clean, and there is a shower room and laundry (we've never used). The sites are a good size with shade trees. The roads are gravel, and the sites are grass. We have a 38' 5th wheel and have never had an issue with getting in and set up. This isn't a resort with activities and other large amenities, but it is quiet, well maintained, and convenient to shopping. The owners, Darcie and Steve, are very friendly and helpful.
Sep 08, 2024 · Ken CampbellWe stopped at this campground on our way up to Niagara Falls for an overnight. It was a nice and economical choice. It’s fairly no-frills but clean and safe. They do have 50 amp and 30 amp power at every site along with water. Most sites are fairly flat and half are shaded under big trees. There is no gravel or concrete, but the ground was fairly hard when we were there, although it doesn’t look like it has rained recently. They have a clean accessible dump station at the front, along with a nice bathhouse that has a separate male and female bathroom with a separate shower in between the two. All with locking doors. Very basic bath house but it was clean and provides what you need. Owner was very responsive on multiple occasions when we spoke to her via phone. They also have a good website with additional information.
Jul 11, 2024 · Jonathan SepulvedaMacie is great! The campsite was clean and we had plenty of room. Just an overnight stop. Not having Wi-Fi and sewer would stop us for staying long term but otherwise would definitely stay again.
Aug 08, 2024 · janet curryThis is a very nice RV park with friendly helpful staff
Apr 03, 2025 · adam KehlWe decided to try out this site for a yearly fishing/camping trip. This park was absolutely perfect for our needs. We were pleasantly surprised to have power/water at the tent sites, as well as the ability to fish the Muskingum River right off the dock by the office. Miss Darcie was very nice and answered every question we had. We’ve already booked our sites for next year’s trip! Can’t wait to go back! THANK YOU, MISS DARCIE!
