Birnham Wood Mobile Home and RV Park Introduce
For local individuals and families in the Parkersburg, West Virginia region who are browsing the "rv parks near me" category, Birnham Wood Mobile Home and RV Park, situated at 62 Birnham Wood Dr, Parkersburg, WV 26104, USA, offers a facility that accommodates both recreational vehicles for short or extended stays and provides a community for manufactured homes, suggesting long-term residency options. This dual functionality makes it a point of consideration for a diverse range of housing and travel needs within the Parkersburg area. The park's location suggests potential access to local amenities while also offering a setting that may be appealing to those who appreciate natural surroundings.
The Natural Ambiance
One of the limited customer reviews offers a positive note regarding the environment of Birnham Wood, stating, "Visit family. And it is nice and having nature all around it is nice too." This brief sentiment indicates that the park may be situated in a location that benefits from natural surroundings, such as trees, greenery, or proximity to other natural landscapes. For local users specifically searching for "rv parks near me" that offer a more scenic or tranquil setting away from purely urban environments, this aspect of Birnham Wood could be a potential draw. However, the review does not provide specific details about the extent or type of natural features present, leaving room for individual interpretation and the need for further investigation.
Services and Infrastructure Available
As a combined mobile home and RV park, Birnham Wood likely provides a range of services and infrastructure to meet the needs of both its long-term and short-term residents. Based on general expectations for such facilities and the limited information available from the customer reviews, the following services and infrastructure may be offered:
- RV Sites with Hookups: The park likely provides designated sites for RVs, which typically include essential utility hookups for electricity, water, and sewer connections. However, the reviews do not offer any information regarding the quality, reliability, or specific configurations of these hookups.
- Mobile Home Lots with Utility Connections: Birnham Wood offers lots suitable for manufactured homes, indicating provisions for long-term residency where individuals own their homes but lease the land. These lots would be equipped with the necessary utility infrastructure connections.
- Waste Management Services: Regular collection and disposal of trash and refuse are essential services for both RV parks and mobile home communities to maintain a clean and sanitary environment. One review mentions a significant delay in receiving a trash can upon arrival, suggesting potential inconsistencies in the efficiency of this service setup.
- Mail Facilities for Residents: The park likely provides mailboxes or a central mail collection point for its residents. The same review that mentioned the trash can delay also reported a two-week wait for a mailbox key, indicating potential issues with the timely provision of mail services for new occupants.
A particularly critical perspective on the park's services and infrastructure, especially concerning RV users, is provided in a detailed negative customer review. This reviewer recounted a significantly negative experience with the RV site they were assigned. They alleged that the owner misrepresented the site as an "easy back in site" suitable for large (43-foot) RVs and claimed it had a concrete pad, both of which the reviewer stated were untrue. The site was described as having multiple grades, being predominantly mud (especially problematic during wet conditions), and lacking a concrete pad (with only mud and a small amount of gravel at the front). This account raises serious concerns about the accuracy of the park's representations regarding its RV facilities and the suitability of at least one site for larger recreational vehicles and during inclement weather.
Features and Characteristics of Birnham Wood
The dual nature of Birnham Wood as a mobile home and RV park suggests a community that serves a diverse range of accommodation needs within the Parkersburg area. Potential features and characteristics of the park may include:
- Combined Long-Term and Short-Term Accommodation: The park caters to both individuals and families seeking long-term residency in manufactured homes and travelers or extended-stay visitors in RVs, potentially creating a mixed community environment.
- Potential for Natural Surroundings: The positive, albeit brief, mention of "nature all around" suggests that the park may offer a more scenic or less urbanized setting, which could be an attractive feature for those prioritizing natural beauty when searching for "rv parks near me."
- Location within Parkersburg, WV: The park's location provides residents and visitors with access to the local amenities, services, and attractions available in Parkersburg, although the specific proximity and ease of access to these are not detailed in the provided reviews.
However, the detailed negative review also highlights several significant issues related to the park's features and management practices that prospective visitors and residents should carefully consider:
- Alleged Misrepresentation of RV Site Conditions: The reviewer claimed that the owner provided inaccurate information regarding the ease of access, terrain, and the presence of a concrete pad for at least one of the RV sites.
- Substandard RV Site Conditions: The reviewer described the assigned RV site as predominantly muddy and poorly graded, leading to significant difficulties in maneuvering a large RV and causing the vehicle to sink, particularly during rainy periods.
- Negative Management Interactions: The reviewer characterized the owner's attitude as "cocky and conceded" and reported a dismissive and unhelpful response when concerns were raised about the condition of the RV site.
- Inefficient Service Provision for New Arrivals: The reported two-week delay in providing essential services such as a trash can and a mailbox key suggests potential inefficiencies in the park's administrative processes for new residents or visitors.
- Disputes Regarding Property Condition and Financial Matters: The reviewer recounted spending personal funds to improve the muddy RV lot by adding gravel for a walkway and subsequently having part of their security deposit withheld due to tire tracks (attributed to the muddy conditions) and for the gravel they added (which they argued improved the lot). This account raises concerns about the fairness and transparency of the park's expectations regarding site maintenance and its deposit return policies.
These negative experiences, particularly the detailed account of alleged misrepresentation and unfair treatment, present significant concerns that potential RV visitors and mobile home residents should thoroughly investigate before making a decision about Birnham Wood Mobile Home and RV Park.

- Consider a Site Visit: If feasible and before making a commitment, schedule a visit to Birnham Wood Mobile Home and RV Park to personally assess the environment, the condition of the RV sites and mobile home lots, and the overall upkeep of the park. If possible, attempt to speak with current residents (both RVers and mobile home owners) to gain firsthand perspectives on their experiences with the park and its management.
- Thoroughly Review Any Lease or Rental Agreements: Before committing to a long-term stay or signing a lease agreement, carefully review all terms and conditions to ensure a complete understanding of your rights and obligations as a resident or visitor.
While Birnham Wood Mobile Home and RV Park may present itself as an option for those seeking "rv parks near me" or mobile home living in Parkersburg, WV, the serious allegations and negative experiences detailed in one review necessitate thorough investigation and careful consideration. Potential visitors and residents should prioritize gathering comprehensive and current information directly from the park management and, if possible, from current occupants before making a decision.

Birnham Wood Mobile Home and RV Park Reviews
Visit family. And it is nice and having nature all around it is nice too .
Apr 28, 2025 · Jeanine suitsIf I could, I would no stars. First of all, the owner's attitude is very cocky and conceded. He claims it is the nicest park, etc. He claimed that the site was an easy back in site for rvs, even large rvs of 43 foot, which is what my husband and I own. He also claimed that the site was concrete. Mostly, this info is untrue. For a truck and trailer to back in this site, the land is of multiple grades and is pure mud, especially in the spring. All the truck and trailer did was sink. We also had to make multiple turns in a short driveway (imagine backing a 43 ft RV up grades into multiple S curves). This is not easy for an rv to do. Especially a large RV. It took about half the day to get into this site (multiple large rvs came and went, all experienced the same issue). And NO there was no concrete pad, just mud and a little gravel at the front of the driveway, the rest was all mud. We made multiple tire tracks in the yard and driveway and we had intentions on cleaning up the yard when the rain stopped (it rained for about 2 weeks). He came to us in the first couple of days and demanded we clean up the yard! I informed him we were working on it. He made a comment about how great the lot was! I then began to state some of the isses and he was in total denial? He is totally oblivious that his lot has issues and don't care to hear anything other than such.He knew a month in advance that we were coming and we had to wait 2 weeks for him to bring us a trash can and a mailbox key. We spent $200 fixing his property because there were tire tracks from driving in the mud. We also laid gravel in a pathway/walkway to get to our vehicles so we wouldn't sink into the mud. He did not give us our full deposit back because of a tire track that was left when we pulled out and because we laid grave(a small amount of gravel, $100 worth), which improved the lot.If his driveway was NOT ALL MUD, we would not have left a tiretrack. The track was left in HIS MUD that was in HIS DRIVEWAY that he CHOSE NOT to have any CONCRETE or GRAVEL installed.
