I have lived in Auburn Hills since 1999 and things have only gotten better over the years.It used to be very loud at night with draconian management infracting people for anything they could find. Things got a lot better rapidly once the owner started using a company to manage the parkTo address the issues I see other people having I have itemized the top complaints.1) Expensive? Lot rent it is about half the price of renting an apartment even if utilities were included. I have never heard this park referred to as being affordable housing.2) Billing problems? Water meters were down for months and nobody got charged for water during that time. When the water meters were fixed everyone needed to back pay what was owed and payment plans were offered. This has been the only major billing issue that I have seen in my 20 years living here.The other billing issue that happens is if the company that is used to send us our lot and utility bill, lot and water to be precise, is changed. Our bills will arrive late for months. Management knows this and does not fine people for paying a bill that they have not received yet. Thankfully that issue is now resolved.3) There is no HOA fee.4) While management does often close their doors early, you can always leave a message and they will get back to you.5) The rules about parking have been relaxed and you can fit as many cars in your driveway as you want as long as they do not stick out on the road. This has been in effect for at least the past year.6) Crime rate. About once every 18 to 24 months a group of thieves will come through and take anything not nailed down or locked up tightly. Our ancient mailboxes were vandalized but the park replaced them as fast at the Post Office could get it done.7) The management is really good and do the best that they can to enforce the rules of the park. Those who complain about management being draconian are complaining about management enforcing the rules. Things like not keeping your yard mowed and in shape, trespassing on other peoples lots, parking on the street, playing loud music at night, and kids playing in the street are the things that I see them enforce the most.If they see a problem they always give a warning or two before taking action. If you don't like the rules then don't move here. The people that are most vocal in the park are the ones who were able to get away with not following the rules under different management years ago and complain that it isn't fair that they can't keep breaking them. Quite frankly the few people in the park that complain the loudest wouldn't be happy if they had free lot rent and utilities for life.8) The streets in the park are cleaner than most neighborhoods I've been through in the area. If anything is at fault it is likely our garbage service spilling garbage when they empty it on Monday morning.I really like living here. The park is quite, feels like you are in a forest, and is close to downtown Auburn. It also has easy access to Highway 18.I would recommend living here if you are tired of apartment living but don't want a $300,000 or more mortgage. - Kevin Moore
