You can reach the friendly owners at (863) 763-8747 or +1 863-763-8747 for reservations and inquiries.
Based on the enthusiastic reviews from recent visitors, Barlow's RV and Fish Camp provides a delightful camping experience characterized by its vintage style and the warm hospitality of its owners, Rick and Shannon. One reviewer described it as a "Vintage style campground," suggesting a nostalgic and perhaps more traditional camping feel, which can be a refreshing change from more modern or resort-style RV parks. This unique ambiance likely contributes to its overall appeal and charm.
For those planning a short-term RV stay, Barlow's offers sites situated under "two gorgeous oaks." This natural setting provides ample shade and a picturesque environment. However, as noted by the reviewer, guests in these spots should expect some acorn drops, which is a natural occurrence in such a setting and part of the outdoor experience. The presence of mature trees enhances the beauty of the campground and offers a cooler environment, especially during the warm Florida months.
The owners, Rick and Shannon, are consistently praised for being "friendly and easygoing" and "very friendly." This personal touch and welcoming demeanor can significantly enhance a guest's stay, making them feel more comfortable and at home. The positive interactions with the owners seem to be a key aspect of the Barlow's RV and Fish Camp experience.
Location-wise, Barlow's offers a convenient distance to both the coast and Port St. Lucie, situated approximately an hour and fifteen minutes away. This makes it a suitable base for those who might want to take day trips to the beach or explore the attractions of the Treasure Coast while enjoying the more relaxed and potentially less crowded atmosphere of Okeechobee.
A significant advantage highlighted by a reviewer is the "Low rates and flexible stay." This combination is highly appealing to travelers, allowing for budget-friendly accommodations and the freedom to adjust their plans. One guest initially booked a week but enjoyed their stay so much that they extended it by an extra two days, indicating a high level of satisfaction and a desire to linger longer in this welcoming environment.
The mention of "Fish Camp" in the name suggests that fishing is a key feature or activity associated with Barlow's RV. Okeechobee is renowned for its excellent fishing opportunities on Lake Okeechobee, and while the reviews don't explicitly state direct access to the lake from the campground, the name implies that it caters to those interested in fishing. This could mean proximity to fishing spots, perhaps even some amenities related to fishing, such as cleaning stations or advice from the owners who are likely knowledgeable about local fishing conditions.
Another reviewer who stayed for a week also expressed great enjoyment, reiterating the friendliness of Rick and Shannon, as well as the other campers staying at Barlow's. This reinforces the sense of community and the welcoming atmosphere of the campground. The reviewer also explicitly stated their intention to return soon, which is a strong testament to the positive experience they had.
Considering the platform category 'RV parks near me,' Barlow's RV and Fish Camp offers a unique blend of a vintage-style campground with modern expectations of friendly service and flexible arrangements. The low rates make it an economically attractive option, while the positive interactions with the owners and fellow campers contribute to a pleasant and community-oriented environment.
The natural setting under the oak trees provides a charming and shaded camping experience. The proximity to Okeechobee, known for its vast lake and fishing, adds to the appeal for outdoor enthusiasts. The reasonable driving distance to the coast and Port St. Lucie also offers a balance between a more rural, relaxed setting and access to coastal attractions.
While specific amenities such as full hookups, restroom facilities, laundry, or recreational areas are not detailed in the reviews, the positive experiences shared by visitors suggest that the essential needs are met, and the overall atmosphere more than compensates for any potentially basic setup. The focus seems to be on the natural environment, the friendly community, and the hospitality of the owners.
Promotional information is limited to the mention of "low rates and flexible stay," which are significant advantages for budget-conscious travelers and those with variable travel plans. The repeated emphasis on the friendliness of the owners and the enjoyable atmosphere serves as a strong implicit promotion for the kind of experience one can expect at Barlow's RV and Fish Camp.
For those searching for 'RV parks near me' in the Okeechobee area who appreciate a more traditional, vintage camping experience with a personal touch, Barlow's RV and Fish Camp is highly recommended based on the glowing reviews. The combination of friendly owners, a pleasant natural environment, low rates, and flexible stay options makes it an attractive choice for both short getaways and potentially longer stays for those looking to explore the Okeechobee region and its surroundings.
To get a complete picture of Barlow's RV and Fish Camp, prospective visitors should contact Rick and Shannon directly to inquire about the specific amenities offered, the types of RV sites available, the proximity to fishing locations, and any specific policies or guidelines. Their friendly and easygoing nature, as highlighted in the reviews, suggests that they would be happy to provide all the necessary information to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
