Camp Kalama RV Park Introduce
For those searching for "RV parks near me" in the Kalama, Washington area, Camp Kalama RV Park, located at 5055 Meeker Dr, Kalama, WA 98625, USA, presents itself as a destination with both promising features and areas for potential improvement. They can be contacted at (360) 442-4722 or +1 360-442-4722 for reservations and inquiries.
The environment of Camp Kalama RV Park appears to offer a blend of open spaces and natural beauty. One positive review describes the grounds as "very open and easy to maneuver, but with a lot of greenery and big beautiful trees throughout the park." This suggests that while the park may offer ease of access for larger RVs, it also provides a pleasant and shaded atmosphere with mature trees. Additionally, a significant environmental feature is its location "right on a nice little river with water access and free fishing for guests of the park." This riverside setting and the amenity of free fishing could be a major draw for anglers and those who enjoy being near water.
However, a contrasting review highlights some significant issues encountered upon arrival. This reviewer, who had called ahead to book a full hook-up, 50-amp pull-through site, reported arriving during advertised office hours (3 PM, with a stated closing time of 5 PM) to find no one in the office. The site they were initially assigned was described as a "partial hook up in a mud hole" with a picnic table covered in "pure slim." This initial experience suggests potential inconsistencies in site quality and the accuracy of bookings.
Subsequently, this dissatisfied customer was offered an alternative "back in" site located "in someone’s yard," which they found unsuitable. A third site was then provided near the front of the park, but its layout reportedly required stepping over the sewer hose to exit the RV, indicating potential space constraints or poor site design. Furthermore, this location was noted to have significant road noise, requiring earplugs and a white noise machine for comfortable sleeping. Despite these issues, the reviewer did acknowledge that the camp host was "very nice."
In terms of services and features, the positive review mentions an on-site diner with a "very comforting atmosphere" and a "very friendly and proficient" cook. The food was described as "served quickly, and it was delicious, and satisfying." An on-site diner can be a significant convenience for RV travelers, offering a place to eat without having to leave the park. The mention of water access and free fishing on the river are also notable features that enhance the recreational opportunities for guests.
The negative review, while detailing problems with the assigned sites and road noise, also implies the availability of different types of hookups (partial and full) and site configurations (pull-through and back-in). The fact that the initial request was for a full hook-up, 50-amp pull-through site suggests that these options are offered at the park, although the availability and condition may vary. The presence of a sewer hose at the final site indicates that sewer hookups are available at some locations within the park.
The positive review also mentions an interaction with Bruce, the manager, who was described as "very kind, courteous, and welcoming." Bruce reportedly went out of his way to assist the guests with a minor issue with their 5th wheel, highlighting a potentially helpful and responsive management presence. This contrasts with the initial booking and site assignment issues experienced by the other reviewer, suggesting a possible inconsistency in service or site management.
Promotional information is not explicitly provided in the reviews. RV parks often have seasonal rates, discounts for longer stays, or special offers. To inquire about any current promotions at Camp Kalama RV Park, it would be best to contact them directly at the provided phone numbers. Potential guests could ask about rates for different types of sites (full hook-up, partial hook-up, pull-through, back-in), the availability of 50-amp service, weekly or monthly discounts, and any other special offers that might be applicable.
In conclusion, Camp Kalama RV Park in Kalama, Washington, offers a location with natural appeal, including open grounds, mature trees, and access to a river with free fishing. It also features a convenient on-site diner with positive reviews for its atmosphere and food. However, potential guests should be aware of a negative review detailing significant issues with the initial site assignment, office hours, and site quality, as well as concerns about road noise at certain locations. The positive interaction with the manager in another review suggests that efforts are made to provide good service. For those searching for "RV parks near me" in the Kalama area, Camp Kalama RV Park presents a mixed picture, and it would be prudent to contact them directly to inquire about current site availability, specific amenities, and any relevant policies to ensure a satisfactory stay.

Camp Kalama RV Park Reviews
Called into the office to book. Asked for full hook up, 50amp pull through. After driving 5 hours got there no one was in the office ( said it was open until 5 we were there at 3). Site they gave us was partial hook up in a mud hole, picnic table was pure slim!!! ( first photo) Called and they offered a back in , in someone’s yard ( second photo). Called back and got another place by the front. I stepped over the sewer hose to get out of my front door. Road noise was ear plugs and white machine worthy. Camp host did find us and was very nice, but would not recommend and will not stay again. No refund or we would have left.
Apr 09, 2025 · Lor TopWorked with Bruce, who is the manager here, on our brief stop through. He was very kind, courteous, and welcoming. Had a few minor hiccups with our 5th wheel as we were packing up and he showed up willing to help out and got us back on the road. The diner on site has a very comforting atmosphere and the cook was very friendly and proficient. Food was served quickly, and it was delicious, and satisfying. The grounds are very open and easy to maneuver, but with a lot of greenery and big beautiful trees throughout the park. It is also right on a nice little river with water access and free fishing for guests of the park.I would stay again in a heartbeat.
Mar 08, 2025 · Alex RhodesStayed in our RV for a few days. Great time, beautiful place! Relaxing time on the river. Host was very nice! Can’t wait to come back.
Apr 05, 2025 · HøneyBeâ !Pricey for what you get. Packed in like sardines. Lot's of permanent residents that park rather randomly. Bathrooms need some work: Paint pealing, rough around the edges. Owner was pretty inconsiderate in his parking habits. Made it difficult to park next to the office. When we went to leave we had to use their dump. There was no water to rinse the black tank. we finally found a resident who allowed us to run a hose from fis water source. Office was closed. Wasn't supposed to be. Called the number but never got a return call.
Oct 15, 2024 · Charles PlumbergI’ve been coming to this park every summer w my family. I was a little hesitant to see how this trip would turn out now that the park has fully converted to RVINN. All I can say is Bruce. Give that man a raise! He is truly the reason our stay was amazing. The park was so clean. It was quiet, even on Friday night when it was sold out. Fishing was a highlight, lots of catches, was happy to see gaming coming in checking licenses and verifying catches. Few tickets were given due to improper fishing techniques.Swimming hole was clean and busy w the last bit of nice weather. Paved driveways allowed for bike riding for the kids.Only draw back was there actually is only one bathroom. No more portapottys on property for those who are tent camping like the map displays. Also a wee bit sad the cafe and bar were not yet open but Bruce reassured us it’s only a matter of weeks.Thank you for our awesome vacation!
