Cedar Key RV Resort Introduce
Looking for "RV parks near me" that offer a blend of convenience and access to the unique coastal charm of Cedar Key, Florida? Cedar Key RV Resort, located at 11980 SW Shiloh Rd, Cedar Key, FL 32625, presents itself as a well-maintained campground offering full hookups for recreational vehicles. This resort serves as a potential haven for travelers seeking to explore the natural beauty and relaxed atmosphere of the Cedar Key area.
Based on recent customer feedback, the environment at Cedar Key RV Resort appears to be a point of both positive and potentially contentious experiences. One guest noted that the park is "very clean and well maintained," highlighting the resort's commitment to upkeep and presentation. This suggests that visitors can likely expect a tidy and organized camping environment, which is a significant factor for many RV travelers seeking comfortable and pleasant accommodations. The presence of "concrete pads and pavers for patio area with picnic table," as mentioned by another reviewer, further supports the notion of a well-structured and amenity-rich setting for individual RV sites.
However, the same reviewer also alluded to some underlying social dynamics within the park, mentioning "like-minded people who talk very disrespectfully about management behind their backs" and getting "caught in the middle of their little squabble." While this feedback doesn't directly reflect on the physical environment or standard services of the RV park, it's an observation regarding the community atmosphere that potential guests might want to be aware of. It suggests that there may be some level of internal tension or differing opinions among some long-term residents.
In terms of services and features, the review information provides some valuable insights. The mention of "full hookups" is a significant positive for RV travelers, as it typically includes connections for water, electricity, and sewer, offering a comfortable and self-sufficient camping experience. The presence of "concrete pads" suggests stable and level parking for RVs, while "pavers for patio area with picnic table" indicates dedicated outdoor living spaces for guests to enjoy. These features contribute to a more comfortable and enjoyable stay compared to less developed campgrounds.
One particular incident mentioned in a review concerns a guest being asked to remove their laundry from a clothesline, citing complaints from other tenants with 99-year leases who apparently enforce "ridiculous out-dated rules." This situation highlights a potential conflict between the RV park's management and some long-term residents, and it also suggests that certain rules or preferences of long-term tenants might impact short-term visitors. The reviewer's frustration with the ban on clotheslines, especially in the context of utilizing solar energy for drying, points to a potentially restrictive environment regarding certain personal practices.
Another service-related issue mentioned is the heated pool, which was reportedly not working during a portion of one guest's stay. While the guest did not complain to management, the fact that it was out of service is a point to consider for those who prioritize this amenity. It's important to note that temporary maintenance issues can occur at any facility, but it's worth inquiring about the status of amenities like the pool when making a reservation, especially if they are a key factor in your choice of RV park.
Despite these points of concern, another reviewer stated, "Enjoyed our three night stay. Well maintained campground. Full hookups. Concrete pads and pavers for patio area with picnic table." This contrasting positive experience suggests that many guests do find the campground itself to be satisfactory in terms of its physical upkeep and basic amenities. The proximity to "several good restaurants in Cedar Key 10 minutes away" is also a significant advantage, offering convenient dining options beyond cooking at the RV site.

Cedar Key RV Resort Reviews
This Park is very clean and well maintained. It’s half-full of like-minded people who talk very disrespectfully about management behind their backs. Then I got caught in the middle of their little squabble.Today I was asked to take my laundry off my clothes line. Evidently solar energy is not in fashion here.Four separate tenants complained about the clothes line, I am told. Because those people have 99 year leases, they get to enforce ridiculous out-dated rules, all in an effort to further their squabble with management. One thing I’m sure of, there’s not a resident here whose mother or father didn’t dry their diapers on a clothes line! But that’s not good enough now. Thats all you need to know about Cedar Key RV Park.I am here for one month. I had looked forward to using the heated pool. When it was working, and still isn’t, I didn’t complain to management. I just grumbled at the pool about how cold it was, and got in anyway. It was management who enforced the ban on my clothes line, but they are not the ones responsible. This HOA needs to get straight with their management. These petty enforcements on short term guests is not helping their cause— which many of the owner/tenents have said is to get new management.

Jan 19, 2025 · Dave BartonMy husband and I stayed at Cedar Key RV resort in January, 2025 and it was a lovely experience. The manager and office staff went over and above to make us feel welcome and help us out if we needed it. They were sogracious and kind. The park is very well kept and extremely clean. The bathhouse was immaculate, and the grounds were tidy. The other RVers were friendly as well. The lots have ample room so we did not feel crowded. If you stay at this park just know that there is not a grocery store on Cedar Key so you may have to buy necessities at dollar general or the Marathon station nearby. The closest Wal-mart is in Chiefland, about 35 minutes away. That was not necessarily problematic to us as we went into Chiefland a couple of times anyhow. However, it might be advisable to keep this point in mind as you pack food items.Be sure to try the local restaurants, especially Robinson's. Yummmmm!Staying at CK RV Resort was marvelous and I look forward to returning whenever possible. We had a first-rate experience!!!!
Mar 12, 2025 · Deborah ParrottPUT THIS ON YOUR A LIST!We’ve stayed at many campgrounds and this one far exceeds our other experiences as to the people who are seasonal here! They go above and beyond to make you feel like part of the regular crowd! The facilities are very well maintained and their community activities are many and inclusive. The sites are clean, well main, easy to back into (although there are some pull thrus)level, come with a concrete patio and picnic table.Cedar Key is making great headway rebuilding this beautifully small community! This is our 3rd visit and each stay gets longer!
Mar 10, 2025 · Diane VanimanWe stayed 1 month. If you want a home away from home...this is the place. Many campers are owners and come year after year. They are a very welcoming group and made sure we were included in their events (game night, bingo night, weenie roast, pot luck, etc.) The park is super clean and well maintained. Cedar Key is a beautiful area that needs all of us to help get things back and going.
