Sunset Isle RV Resort Introduce
For local individuals and families in the Cedar Key, Florida area seeking information about "RV parks near me," it is crucial to consider the most recent conditions reported by travelers. Sunset Isle RV Resort, located at 11850 FL-24, Cedar Key, FL 32625, USA, can be contacted at (352) 477-2799 or their mobile number, +1 352-477-2799. However, recent customer feedback paints a concerning picture of the current state of this property.
One review from a past visitor who had enjoyed staying at Sunset Isle RV Resort over several years recounts a recent visit to Cedar Key where they found the resort to be "abandoned and in horrible condition." The reviewer describes seeing "windows and doors were all broken" and explicitly advises others, "Don't go there." This firsthand account suggests a significant deterioration of the property, likely due to the impact of a hurricane that affected the Cedar Key area.
The same reviewer also provides context about the broader devastation in Cedar Key, mentioning that roads in the main part of town on the water were closed. They walked by the waterfront restaurants and noted that these were "all damaged and closed because of the hurricane that hit it." Additionally, they observed that a "new bridge was new was closed due to hurricane damage." The reviewer's emotional response, stating, "We loved Cedar Key and I cried to see the devastation. It is heartbreaking," underscores the severity of the impact on the entire area, including Sunset Isle RV Resort.
Another review indicates a lack of responsiveness from the resort, with a potential guest stating, "They never even bothered to get back with us to stay there." This lack of communication, coupled with the description of the property as abandoned and in horrible condition, suggests that Sunset Isle RV Resort is currently not operational or in a state unsuitable for accommodating guests. The reviewer's comment, "Looks like a cute place too. 😢," implies that the resort may have had potential or a positive reputation in the past, which has been affected by recent events.
Given the information from these recent reviews, it is highly unlikely that Sunset Isle RV Resort currently offers any viable environment, services, or features for RV travelers. The reported broken windows and doors suggest significant damage to the structures on the property, potentially rendering them unsafe or unusable. The overall description of being "abandoned and in horrible condition" implies a complete lack of maintenance and functionality.
It is important for local users searching for "RV parks near me" in Cedar Key to be aware of the severe impact of the hurricane on the area. While Cedar Key is described as beautiful, the damage appears to be extensive, affecting not only Sunset Isle RV Resort but also other businesses and infrastructure, such as roads and bridges. This broader context is essential for understanding the current limitations and challenges in the region.
Services and features typically associated with RV resorts, such as hookups for water, electricity, and sewer, restroom and shower facilities, laundry services, recreational areas, and on-site management, are unlikely to be available at Sunset Isle RV Resort in its reported state of abandonment and disrepair. The focus of the reviews is on the damage and lack of operation, rather than any existing amenities.
Similarly, promotional information would be irrelevant given the current condition of the resort as described by recent visitors. Local users should prioritize finding alternative accommodations in the Cedar Key area that are currently operational and have not been as severely impacted by the hurricane.
For local residents seeking "RV parks near me" in Cedar Key, it is recommended to look for other options that have been confirmed to be open and in good condition following the hurricane. The devastation reported in the reviews suggests that Sunset Isle RV Resort is not currently a viable choice for RV accommodation. It would be prudent to contact other RV parks in the vicinity to inquire about their current status and availability.
The situation in Cedar Key, as described by the reviewer, highlights the destructive power of hurricanes and their lasting impact on communities and businesses. While the area was loved by past visitors, the current reality appears to be one of significant recovery and rebuilding. Local users should be prepared for potential closures or limited services at various establishments in the area as the community works to recover.
In conclusion, based on recent customer reviews, Sunset Isle RV Resort in Cedar Key, Florida, is reported to be abandoned and in horrible condition due to hurricane damage. Local users searching for "RV parks near me" should be aware of this information and seek alternative accommodations in the area that are currently operational. The broader devastation in Cedar Key, including damage to infrastructure and businesses, should also be taken into consideration when planning travel to the region. It is advisable to contact other RV parks directly to ascertain their current status and availability.

Sunset Isle RV Resort Reviews
We stayed here over the years and loved it. We just drove to Cedar Key today and found this place to be abandoned and in horrible condition. Windows and doors were all broken . Don't go there. My husband and I went to the main part of town on the water. The roads were closed, so we got out and walked by the restaurants on the water, which were beautiful. They are all damaged and closed because of the hurricane that hit it. The new bridge was new was closed due to hurricane damage. We loved Cedar Key and I cried to see the devastation. It is heartbreaking.

Apr 16, 2025 · Alex KunzeAre there plans to reopen? Here now and completely over grown and abandoned. All doors and windows appear to broken
Apr 03, 2025 · Robert KilpatrickAlas, Sunset Isle is no more. It was obliterated in the 2024 hurricane and is abandoned still as of 5-2025.
Apr 27, 2025 · Chris HartPrime spot to stay in Cedar key! Close enough to downtown we rode scooters. Sites are tight if park is full. We had a waterview and it was beautiful. Boat ramp is around the corner and cute little Bottle bar is next door. Wish there was a pool and there is no amenities really at all. I did see a kayak rack, but no kayaks. There is a dock to fish from or sit and enjoy the views.
