Based on the overwhelmingly positive feedback from visitors and residents, Southern Leisure offers a meticulously planned and thoughtfully executed RV resort experience. One reviewer, who visited the campground for a comprehensive review before their stay, was so impressed that they booked for the entire winter season of 2024. This initial positive impression highlights the quality and appeal of Southern Leisure even upon first inspection.
A significant advantage of Southern Leisure is that it is a relatively new campground, only a few years old at the time of the reviews. This newness translates to modern and well-maintained amenities throughout the park. The infrastructure is clearly a point of pride, with reviewers specifically mentioning that "the roads are all paved" and the "sites completely concrete." Paved roads enhance the overall aesthetic appeal of the park, reduce dust, and provide smooth access for RVs and other vehicles. Concrete sites offer a level and stable foundation for RVs, making setup easier and more secure. These features indicate a commitment to high-quality infrastructure that prioritizes guest comfort and convenience.
The aesthetic appeal of Southern Leisure extends beyond the infrastructure to its landscaping. Reviewers consistently praise the beautiful landscaping "around the sites and thru out the part." Well-maintained greenery and attractive landscaping contribute to a pleasant and inviting atmosphere, making the park feel like a true retreat. This attention to detail in the visual environment enhances the overall enjoyment of staying at Southern Leisure.
It is crucial to note that Southern Leisure is a 55+ community. This designation shapes the environment and the type of activities offered, catering specifically to the interests and lifestyles of active adults. The emphasis on a 55+ age group fosters a community of like-minded individuals, as highlighted by a reviewer who, after spending the winter and becoming a seasonal resident, emphasized the "friendly, hospitable and caring campers that stay here along with the staff." This strong sense of community appears to be a key feature of Southern Leisure, where "neighbors become family."
The activities offered at Southern Leisure are another significant draw. The reviews indicate a wide range of options available "year round," covering "everything indoors to outdoors." This extensive program suggests that residents and guests have ample opportunities for social interaction, recreation, and personal enrichment. The enthusiastic reviewer even states, "If your bored its your fault," underscoring the abundance of activities and the engaging social environment fostered within the park.
The positive experiences extend to the management as well. One new "annual" resident praised the management for being attentive and effective, stating, "The management listens and is very good at posting rules ment to support the greater good while allowing all of us to have a very positive experience." This indicates a management team that is responsive to the needs of the residents and strives to create a harmonious living environment for everyone. The reviewer also noted being welcomed by many similar lifestyle people, further emphasizing the strong sense of community.
The cleanliness and maintenance of the park are consistently lauded, with the same reviewer stating, "Very clean and well maintained." This reinforces the initial positive impressions of the park's upkeep and the commitment to providing a high-quality environment for its residents and guests.
Southern Leisure also offers cabins as an alternative to RV stays, providing another option for those looking to experience the community and its amenities. The availability of cabins expands the appeal of Southern Leisure to individuals or families who may not own an RV but are still interested in the resort's offerings and the Chiefland area.
The reviews collectively act as strong promotional information for Southern Leisure. The consistent praise for its new and well-maintained amenities, beautiful landscaping, friendly community, extensive activities, and responsive management paints a picture of an exceptional 55+ RV resort. The fact that visitors are so impressed they book long-term stays and that residents feel they have found their "Southern Home" speaks volumes about the quality of life and the overall experience offered at Southern Leisure.
However, one reviewer playfully hesitates to give a full 5-star rating due to the park "filling up fast," indicating high demand and potentially limited availability. This suggests that while Southern Leisure is a highly desirable destination, prospective guests should book well in advance to secure a site, especially during peak seasons.
For local users in the Chiefland, FL area searching for "RV parks near me," Southern Leisure presents an outstanding option for those in the 55+ age group seeking a top-tier RV resort experience. Its new, high-quality amenities, beautiful environment, vibrant community, and attentive management make it a premier choice for seasonal or annual stays. In conclusion, Southern Leisure in Chiefland, FL, is a highly recommended 55+ RV resort that offers a premium experience. Its new and well-maintained facilities, including paved roads and concrete sites, beautiful landscaping, a wide range of activities, a friendly and welcoming community, and responsive management, make it a sought-after destination. Southern Leisure Reviews
We have not stayed at this campground yet. We visited the campground and did a complete review of all the sites/pool/facilities/office/rec.center and activity area. After our visit/review we were so impressed that we booked for the winter season of 2024. The campground is only a few years old. With all the amenities being new. The roads are all paved with the sites completely concrete. The area around the sites and thru out the part is beautifully landscaped. This is a 55+ community. I hesitate rating it as a 5-star because it is filling up fast and I don't want to be unable to return 🙃. Cabins are also availableAfter having spent the winter here and became a seasonal for the following year I can update the information by including the friendly, hospitable and caring campers that stay here along with the staff. The activities that are offered year round brings neighbors to become family. The list of activities covers everything indoors to outdoors. If your bored its your fault. This is a great place but very limited on availability.
Oct 22, 2024 · Gary RiemerAfter our first month as a new "annual" I can say "We have found our Southern Home". The management listens and is very good at posting rules ment to support the greater good while allowing all of us to have a very positive experience. I have been welcomed by many similar life style people. Lots of organized activities and communications from or organizer. Very clean and well maintained. We have established a new pattern of living in our Northern home and NOW have our Southern location set.No worries just relaxing in the good life.
Mar 02, 2024 · John ThompsonGreat RV park. Great staff, great people. It’s a beautiful park where you can spend the day doing a great variety of activities or quietly enjoy your day.
Nov 05, 2024 · Tara RoyWe stayed for a couple of months in 2020 and fell in love with the place. Stayed again I believe 3 months in the summer of 2021. Summer of 2022 pool was broken 8 out of 12 weekends. Cable was out also most of the time. Manager at the time was trying to really pressure everyone to become annual residents. So much so that I was told the 3-4 month special would not be avaliable in the summer of 23. That was untrue. Anyhow with the pool being broken so often we did visit some wonderful springs. And we love the location. But until they upgrade their pool pumps we will not be back. There are also some good restaurants and walmart near by. We almost signed up for annual even though we are not full timers and we're pretty much just there on the weekends. It may be different now but too much shady stuff going on when we were there in 2022. But it is a very clean, nice resort.
Dec 10, 2023 · Susan CoppingerThe park is in impeccable shape - looks brand new. The sites are huge with concrete slab, patio area and are nicely landscaped. Sparkling pool, cable, great amenities and daily planned activities (even in the summer). Club house offers something for everyone and the rates cannot be beaten for the amenities offered. After arriving, we extended from 2 to 6 nights. We will be back!
