Chatham RV Park Introduce
For those navigating the "RV Parks Near Me" landscape in North Carolina, particularly in search of a long-term or extended stay option, Chatham RV Park in Moncure, NC, presents a developing and evolving community. Located at 7695 Moncure Pittsboro Rd, Moncure, NC 27559, USA, Chatham RV Park aims to provide a comprehensive living solution for RV enthusiasts, though it's important to consider both its current offerings and the experiences of its past and present residents.
The environment at Chatham RV Park is in a state of active development, as indicated by recent reviews. One resident, who has lived there for five months, enthusiastically stated, "Although they are still under construction, they have added many items where you can stay home after a long day of work or lounging at the lake. A one stop shop!!!" This suggests that while there may be ongoing improvements, the park is committed to enhancing its amenities and overall resident experience. The park has 29 campsites, offering a somewhat intimate community feel. The surrounding area of Moncure, NC, offers a rural setting, often characterized by flat terrain with scattered trees, providing a generally peaceful backdrop for RV living.
In terms of services and features, Chatham RV Park is equipped to accommodate a full range of RV needs. It offers full hook-ups, including 30 and 50 amp electrical connections, clean drinking well water, and sewer hook-ups, ensuring that residents have all essential utilities. Beyond the basic hook-ups, the park provides several conveniences that aim to create a "one stop shop" environment for its residents. These include:
- WiFi: Providing essential connectivity for work, entertainment, and communication.
- Restrooms: Well-maintained facilities for convenience.
- Laundromat: On-site laundry facilities, a significant convenience for long-term RVers.
- Convenience Store: A general store on-site for quick access to essential supplies.
- Grill: A communal or available grill, possibly for cooking and social gatherings.
- Propane: Available for purchase, simplifying the process of refilling RV tanks.
However, it is crucial to present a balanced view, as some reviews also indicate challenges, particularly concerning management and reservation handling. One detailed account from a prospective resident reported a highly negative experience: they were initially told reservations were not taken, then accommodated, only to have their reservation canceled two days before arrival after previously confirming date changes. The individual felt the owner was "very snotty and short" and "unprofessional and had a terrible attitude," resulting in significant financial loss and disruption to their travel plans. This suggests that while there are positive aspects, communication and professionalism in customer service, especially regarding reservations and changes, may be inconsistent. This is a vital point for prospective residents to consider, especially those planning long-term stays or complex travel arrangements.
The location of Chatham RV Park in Moncure is a significant feature. It is situated near Jordan Lake, a prominent recreational area offering opportunities for boating, fishing, and hiking. Specifically, the park is conveniently located near Hwy US-1, providing easy access to major transportation routes. This makes it an ideal spot for out-of-town workers or recreational users. Surrounding towns and cities like Pittsboro (with its charming downtown), Raleigh, Cary, Apex, Sanford, Durham, and Chapel Hill are within a short drive, offering a wider array of shopping, dining, healthcare, and cultural attractions. For nature enthusiasts, Jordan Lake State Recreation Area is a major draw, providing extensive outdoor activities. The park's proximity to Jordan Lake's boat ramps also makes it very appealing for those interested in water sports.
For those specifically looking for "RV Parks Near Me," Chatham RV Park positions itself as a robust option for both short and long-term stays. Its rates are structured for daily, weekly, and monthly stays, with reported rates being $60 per day, $300 per week, and $750 per month. This flexibility caters to a diverse range of needs, from transient travelers to those seeking a more permanent base. The ongoing construction and addition of amenities indicate a park that is actively investing in its infrastructure and aiming to be a competitive and comfortable choice in the region.
Promotional information for Chatham RV Park would likely emphasize its convenient location near Jordan Lake and US-1, its comprehensive full hook-up sites, and the growing list of on-site amenities. The positive review that calls it a "one stop shop" and praises the staff's helpfulness would be a strong selling point, showcasing a park that strives to meet its residents' needs. However, the documented negative experiences concerning reservation management highlight a critical area where expectations need to be managed and due diligence exercised by prospective guests.
Given the mixed feedback, prospective residents are strongly encouraged to contact Chatham RV Park directly for the most current information regarding availability, rates, and any ongoing construction or specific site features. The phone numbers are (919) 923-1586 and +1 919-923-1586. It would be advisable for individuals considering a longer stay to clarify all reservation policies, cancellation terms, and any potential for changes in dates, ideally in writing, to avoid unforeseen issues as reported by some customers. Visiting the park in person to assess the environment and the state of amenities, as well as speaking with current residents, could provide additional valuable insights.
In conclusion, Chatham RV Park in Moncure, NC, is a developing RV community that offers a promising blend of essential RV services and convenience amenities, all within a tranquil setting near Jordan Lake. While it continues to build out its offerings, creating a potentially comfortable "one stop shop" experience for its residents, potential visitors should be aware of the varying experiences reported, particularly concerning customer service. A direct and clear line of communication with park management is recommended for a smooth and enjoyable stay.

I have lived here for 5 months and have enjoyed every bit of it!! Although they are still under construction, they have added many items where you can stay home after a long day of work or lounging at the lake. A one stop shop!!! Jan 05, 2020 · Kimberly WellsI needed to book for a month and asked if they would reserve me a space. Initially they said that they would not take reservations, but then called me back to say they could accommodate me. I was asked for my credit card as a deposit. A few weeks before my stay I called to see if I could adjust the dates and come in a few days later, as I would be driving across country and those dates weren't going to work. They said that they would have to verify the change with the owner. They then called to say my dates were changed and I was all set this was a month prior to my stay. I had began driving across country and decided to give them another call to confirm my arrival date. He said I was all set but that he needed to check if my month reservation was still available since there was confusion about me staying a week or a month. I get a call two days before my arrival to say they cancelled my reservation and I don't have a spot there! He never called in advance to tell me, he waited until I was already in town. He said he lost a week because I changed the dates even though I gave him at least 1 months notice. I told him that he could have called me and I would have paid the week I missed as it still would come out cheaper then if I had to camp at a state park. So basically he cost me a ton of money and had no empathy for me at all. He was very snotty and short with me. The owner was unprofessional and had a terrible attitude. He turned my plans upside down and I had to spend 1500 on my trip instead of 700 because of him and his short notice
May 11, 2021 · Lisa GruttadauriaDon’t stay here!!! In the last few years we’ve stayed at over 100+ RV parks and campgrounds across the US and Canada, and this has to be THE WORST place we’ve ever stayed! If I could give it negative starts I would. It’s a muddy mess with mostly temporary construction workers. The owner runs his plumbing business out of the office and the RV park is really just a side business. The first day we had no power and couldn’t get a hold of anyone. We had multiple power outages and sewer drainage issues where we couldn’t dump. While we were there, my wife was also attacked by a neighbors dogThe owner only lets you pay in cash and then doesn’t give you a receipt or anything - it’s all super sketchy. If you don’t take a picture of your electric on checkin and checkout, then Dennis the owner will tell you that your power reading is off unless you have proof. My wife and daughter watched as the owner came and totally flooded our neighbor’s underbelly while he was away at work, causing thousands of dollars of damage, and then Dennis denied it all. Stay away!!
Dec 30, 2019 · Adamrsp SIt's a nice and quiet. My boyfriend is staying there due to having work in the area. My one suggestion is they need to put reflectors or something to mark their driveway. Due to the extremely bright sign you can't see the entrance in the dark.
Nov 04, 2019 · Marie WhiteBest pizza and wings I've tasted in a few years. Grew up in NY so I have certain taste requirements/ standards... this place exceeds that, and being a mile away is even better!!
