City of Pratt RV Site Introduce
For local users and travelers searching for budget-friendly "RV parks near me" in the Pratt, Kansas area, the City of Pratt RV Site, located at 818 S Pine St, Pratt, KS 67124, USA, offers a no-frills but functional option. Based on available customer reviews, this city-run RV site provides basic amenities at a very affordable price point, making it a practical choice for those prioritizing cost and essential hookups over extensive facilities or a scenic environment.
One of the primary advantages highlighted by a reviewer is the generally quiet atmosphere of the RV site. The comment "It was mostly quiet. Not many sirens or loud vehicles" suggests a peaceful environment, which can be particularly appealing to travelers seeking a restful overnight stop. This lack of significant noise pollution can contribute to a more relaxing experience compared to RV parks located in busier areas.
The availability and accessibility of essential utilities are also noted positively. The reviewer mentions that "Water and power were easily accessible," indicating that connecting to these services is straightforward for RVers. Furthermore, the "drop box is located conveniently" for after-hours payments or registration, adding to the ease of use, especially for late arrivals.
Perhaps the most compelling feature for budget-conscious travelers is the affordability of the City of Pratt RV Site. The reviewer explicitly states, "Worth every penny of the 10 dollars a night." This exceptionally low nightly rate makes it an extremely attractive option for those looking to minimize their accommodation expenses while still having access to basic RV hookups.
However, it's crucial to consider the limitations and specific conditions of the City of Pratt RV Site, as detailed in another customer review. One significant point is the access to the dump station. The review notes, "You have to get a key from the city offices to unlock the dump station (1/2 - block from the park). They are open weekdays. Closed weekends." This is a critical piece of information for RVers needing to empty their holding tanks. The weekday-only access and the need to obtain a key from a separate location could be inconvenient for those staying over a weekend or arriving after weekday business hours.
Regarding the utility hookups themselves, the site offers "Decent 30 amp electric and water hook-ups." While 30 amp service is adequate for many RVs, those requiring 50 amp service will need to consider this limitation. The availability of water hookups is a standard and essential amenity for most RV travelers.
A notable drawback is the absence of sewer hookups at the individual RV sites. The reviewer explicitly states, "No sewer hook up." This means that RVers staying at the City of Pratt RV Site will need to utilize the off-site dump station (with the weekday key access) to manage their wastewater.
The parking situation is described as "Fairly level Back-ins only." This indicates that all RV sites require backing in, which might be a consideration for less experienced RV drivers or those with very large rigs who prefer pull-through sites. The "fairly level" aspect is positive, as it reduces the need for extensive leveling adjustments upon parking.
Another environmental factor to consider is the lack of shade. The reviewer mentions "No shade or very limited shade." This can be a significant issue, especially during the hot summer months, as it can make the interior of the RV hotter and limit comfortable outdoor activities around the campsite during the day. Travelers sensitive to heat or those planning to spend a significant amount of time at their site should be aware of this limitation.
Finally, the review notes the proximity of a recreational area: "Ball field across the parking lot can be busy May through July." This suggests that during the late spring and early summer, there may be increased noise and activity levels due to organized sports or other events at the ball field. Travelers seeking absolute peace and quiet during these months might need to consider this potential for daytime activity.
Given that the City of Pratt RV Site is operated by the city, it likely provides a basic service without the extensive amenities often found in privately owned RV parks. There is no mention of facilities such as restrooms, showers, laundry, Wi-Fi, or recreational areas beyond the adjacent ball field. The focus appears to be on providing essential utility hookups at a minimal cost.
As a city-run facility, promotional information in the traditional sense (discounts, loyalty programs, etc.) is unlikely. The primary draw is the very low nightly rate of $10, as explicitly mentioned by a reviewer. This affordability itself acts as a significant incentive for budget-conscious travelers.
For local users or those passing through Pratt, Kansas, the City of Pratt RV Site offers a straightforward and economical option for overnight stays or short stops requiring basic water and electric hookups. However, potential visitors must be aware of the lack of on-site sewer, the weekday-only access to the dump station key, the back-in-only sites, and the limited shade. The potential for noise from the nearby ball field during certain months should also be considered.
In conclusion, the City of Pratt RV Site provides a budget-friendly solution for RVers needing basic water and 30 amp electric hookups in a mostly quiet location. The incredibly low nightly rate makes it a compelling choice for cost-conscious travelers. However, the lack of on-site sewer, the inconvenient access to the dump station key outside of weekday business hours, the back-in-only sites, and the limited shade are important factors to consider before choosing this location. For those prioritizing essential utilities at a minimal cost and who can manage the limitations, the City of Pratt RV Site offers a practical stopover.

Sep 06, 2023 · Mike Mann4 star only because it didn't have sewage connection but worth the $10 a day for 30 amp and good water pressure. I was the only one there for 5 days and no one messed with my trailer when I was away for the day. There is a slope toward the front of my trailer when backed in but not to big of an issue. The curb side type trash can is available for use. Over all it was quiet and everything needed was a few minutes away. I wish the city could accommodate a longer stay without permission. Great stay worth the money. Thank you City of Pratt .
Dec 17, 2023 · VS YGood place to stop on your journey. Quiet place and the price is great. Only has a 30amp plug in and a dump site. No problem at all here!
Aug 01, 2024 · Richard Bre.Lots of very clean back up parking for your 40' rig and truck. Police patroled the area. Wonderful spot with electricity and water. Have to get a key for dump station. Only $10.00 a night. What deal. Best night sleep. Very little noise to bother you. Will come here again.
