Country Oaks RV Park Introduce
When searching for "RV parks near me" for either short-term stays or longer-term living in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Country Oaks RV Park, located at 6336 E Opelousas St, Lake Charles, LA 70615, USA, presents itself as an option to consider. While the name includes "RV Park," it appears to also offer small trailer rentals and operates as a mobile home park, making it relevant for individuals seeking extended stays in their RVs or those interested in renting park-owned units. To provide a comprehensive overview for local users exploring their options, it's crucial to consider the experiences shared by current and former residents.
One positive aspect highlighted in the reviews is the park's pet policy. According to one resident who rents a small trailer, Country Oaks RV Park does not have the weight or breed restrictions for dogs that are common in many other rental properties. This can be a significant advantage for RV travelers or potential long-term residents with larger dogs or breeds often restricted elsewhere. The same reviewer also noted that "She is very nice and will work with you on the deposit," indicating a degree of flexibility and positive interaction with the management regarding financial arrangements.
However, the reviews also bring to light several significant environmental and service-related factors that prospective residents should be aware of. A recurring concern is the frequent train traffic. One reviewer stated that trains come through "fairly often throughout the day and night," while another described it as "Train non stop all hours of the day and night." This level of noise could be a considerable drawback for individuals seeking a peaceful environment, especially during sleeping hours. When considering "RV parks near me," the noise level is often a critical factor for ensuring a comfortable stay.
Regarding the park's amenities and maintenance, feedback suggests potential areas for improvement. One reviewer mentioned that the laundry facility had only two working washers out of three. Furthermore, they reported that "if something breaks or wears out it takes them awhile to get to it but they will get to it," indicating a potentially slow response time for maintenance requests. For long-term residents, the reliability and upkeep of essential facilities and timely repairs are vital aspects of their living experience.
Another significant point of concern raised by a former resident relates to the park's policies regarding deposits. This individual stated that despite providing over three days' notice of their departure for a new job, they did not receive their deposit back. They also alleged being falsely accused of using offensive language. This experience highlights the importance of clearly understanding the park's deposit and move-out policies before committing to a stay, whether short-term in an RV or long-term in a rented unit.
The description of the environment also contrasts with initial impressions. While one reviewer was told on the phone that it's a quiet place, their experience was different. They reported that "It's not quiet music played half of the night most nights." This discrepancy between the advertised and actual noise levels is an important consideration for those specifically seeking a quiet "RV park near me." Additionally, the same reviewer mentioned being "begged for rides to walmart from people," which might indicate a lack of convenient transportation options for some residents and could impact the sense of community or personal space.
Specific details about the rental units themselves were also provided by one former resident who stayed in a "tiny house." They reported a lack of essential amenities upon arrival, including no microwave (despite being promised one over a week prior) and no proper bed, only a "twin size wood made bed frame." They also noted an issue with ants that were attracted to electricity rather than sugar. These details are crucial for anyone considering renting a unit within the park and highlight the need to verify the included amenities and the condition of the rental before moving in.
Given the information available, there is no specific promotional information mentioned for Country Oaks RV Park. Potential residents should inquire directly about current rates for RV spots or rental units, any special offers for long-term stays, and the terms and conditions of deposits and leases. It would also be prudent to ask detailed questions about the park's policies on noise, maintenance procedures, laundry facilities, and security measures.
In conclusion, for individuals searching for "RV parks near me" in Lake Charles, LA, Country Oaks RV Park offers the potential benefit of a flexible pet policy and a seemingly accommodating approach to deposits. However, the experiences shared by residents also indicate significant drawbacks, including frequent train noise, potentially slow maintenance response times, concerns regarding deposit returns, and discrepancies between advertised and actual noise levels within the park. Furthermore, the condition and amenities of rental units may vary and should be verified. Prospective residents are strongly encouraged to contact Country Oaks RV Park directly using the provided phone numbers, (337) 497-0025 or mobile +1 337-497-0025, to ask detailed questions about these concerns and to assess whether the park meets their specific needs and expectations for both short-term RV stays and potential long-term residency.

I rent one of the small trailers and It's not a bad place although trains come thru fairly often throughout the day and night. Where most places for rent have a weight or breed restriction for dogs, they do not. She is very nice and will work with you on the deposit. The only issue I've had is if something breaks or wears out it takes them awhile to get to it but they will get to it.
Mar 02, 2022 · SJTrain non stop all hours of the day and night. Three washers only two work. When you let the office know over three days in advance that you will be leaving to go to another job, you do not get your deposit back. Then get accused of cussing someone out when you never did. They tell you on the phone that it's a quiet place if you dont like quiet you wont like it here. It's not quiet music played half of the night most nights. You get begged for rides to walmart from people. Our tiny house had a couch they had to ask me if it was mine or theres, no microwave, (was told over a week ago would get one put in..never happened.) No bed just a twin size wood made bed frame. Ants everywhere and apparently not after sugar just electric. Would not recommend.
Oct 04, 2019 · Rebecca GoinsThe lady who was in the office was very polite and friendly. The price was extremely reasonable. We stayed the night only, without incidence. However, I would only return if there were no other options. The only "overnight" spots, 3 of them, were right in the front, which was fine. But all 3 spots were flooded, and there was a very low hanging electrical wire that was right over the spots. The long term rv's were a bit dilapidated and there were a number of what appeared to be old fema trailors. The front of the camp was clean. Could not see the rest of the campground. There were trains a few times, but wasn't too bad. Other than that it was quiet, likely due to the heavy rains, so there wasn't any activity in the camp. I think if it was fixed up a bit the place would attract more campers, since it is an easy on and off the interstate. I wish the owners good luck.
Jan 04, 2020 · Linda MaimoneI stayed at this park for over a year. The mail carrier kept sending my mail back, and I lost some money like that. The rates are low, but it's by the train tracks. They run day and night. The new owner ripped me off for 3 weeks rent when I left. They even want a $400 deposit now.
Jun 14, 2019 · Cliff LatshawDirty run down rv park. Laundry facilities have been broke for months and internet is terrible.Since this last review things have improved. Laundry is now open and a lot of the trash has been picked up around the campers. I'm pleased with what they have done to correct these issues. The internet is still terrible though.
