Crystal Kangaroo Campground Introduce
Crystal Kangaroo Campground is located at 625 Crystal Park Rd in Manitou Springs, Colorado, with contact phone numbers (719) 685-5010 and +1 719-685-5010. For local users searching within the 'RV parks near me' category, Crystal Kangaroo Campground presents itself as an option in the scenic Manitou Springs area. However, it is crucial to consider the strongly contrasting customer reviews available online to gain an objective understanding of the environment, services, and overall experience offered by this campground.
One reviewer describes their experience as being in a "piece of Heaven," expressing immense positivity and gratitude for being there. This suggests that the location itself may possess appealing natural beauty or a tranquil atmosphere that resonates strongly with some visitors. Manitou Springs is known for its stunning natural surroundings at the foot of Pikes Peak, its historic charm, and its proximity to various attractions, which could contribute to such a positive sentiment regarding the environment.
However, this overwhelmingly positive review is starkly contrasted by a detailed and extremely negative account from another former guest who stayed at Crystal Kangaroo Campground for four months. This reviewer states upfront that they would give zero stars if possible and advises others that staying there is "not worth it," claiming that other negative reviews are accurate and their experience will likely be similar. This strong warning necessitates a careful examination of the issues raised.
The negative review alleges a pattern of frequent and seemingly arbitrary eviction notices, often delivered weekly via sticky notes on the door. This created a constant sense of unease and unwelcome, preventing the guests from feeling comfortable in their own rented space. The first eviction was reportedly very distressing, and the reviewer claims that such occurrences are "standard" according to other residents. This suggests a potentially unstable and unpredictable living situation for long-term guests.
The negative feedback heavily criticizes the owner, identified as Madeline, who is described as "hateful and rude." The reviewer recounts a specific voicemail in which Madeline allegedly threatened to make them leave if she was having a bad day, as well as an incident where Madeline reportedly charged at them screaming, "I don't like you." These are serious allegations of unprofessional and hostile behavior from the campground owner.
Furthermore, the negative review points to another individual, Kim, described as a long-term resident who also creates problems by giving "mean looks" and complaining about guests disposing of their trash. This suggests potential interpersonal issues within the campground community that may not be adequately addressed by management.
Adding to the negative experience, the reviewer mentions that despite paying extra for electricity, their rent increased by $100, and they experienced days at a time without running water. These are significant concerns regarding the reliability of basic utilities and the cost of staying at the campground. The reviewer concludes with a strong recommendation: "Seriously, don't stay here." The attached picture, showing an eviction notice for their lot looking "like a construction site," provides visual context for the alleged reasons for at least one of the evictions.
Considering these highly divergent reviews, the environment of Crystal Kangaroo Campground is difficult to objectively assess. While the location in Manitou Springs likely offers natural beauty, the negative review suggests a potentially stressful and unwelcoming atmosphere due to management behavior and community dynamics. The issue of frequent evictions and the alleged rudeness of the owner could create a hostile environment for guests.
The services at Crystal Kangaroo Campground, based on the negative review, appear to be unreliable. The days-long lack of running water is a significant failure in basic service provision. While electricity is available (at an extra cost), the unexpected rent increase suggests potential instability in pricing. The review also implies a lack of effective management intervention in neighborly disputes and issues like stray cats (though not directly a campground service, the management's handling of such issues impacts the environment). The positive review offers no specific details about services.
Features of Crystal Kangaroo Campground are not explicitly detailed in either review. One might typically expect standard RV park features such as hookups for water, electricity, and sewer, as well as potentially restrooms, showers, and laundry facilities. However, the negative review's focus on management issues and utility problems overshadows any mention of positive features. The reference to a lot looking like a "construction site" might suggest the type of grounds or sites available, but without more context, it's hard to draw definitive conclusions.
There is no promotional information available online for Crystal Kangaroo Campground in the provided text. The stark contrast between the two reviews makes it challenging to present any objective promotional points. The positive review is very brief and lacks specifics, while the negative review is a strong deterrent. Local users searching for 'RV parks near me' would need to weigh these drastically different experiences carefully.
For local users in the Manitou Springs area seeking 'RV parks near me', Crystal Kangaroo Campground is an option to consider, but with significant caveats due to the serious allegations in one of the reviews. The potential for a beautiful location might be appealing, as suggested by the positive review. However, the detailed account of frequent evictions, rude management, utility issues, and neighbor problems cannot be ignored. Prospective guests should be aware of the reported risks and consider them carefully before making a reservation.
Given the conflicting information, it is strongly recommended that anyone considering a stay at Crystal Kangaroo Campground seek additional, more recent reviews from a variety of sources to get a broader perspective. Contacting the campground directly to inquire about their policies on evictions, utility reliability, and management practices would also be a prudent step. A personal visit to the campground, if feasible, could provide a firsthand impression of the environment and the interactions with staff and residents.
In conclusion, Crystal Kangaroo Campground in Manitou Springs, CO, presents a mixed picture for those searching within the 'RV parks near me' category. While one reviewer found it to be a "piece of Heaven," another detailed a highly negative experience characterized by frequent evictions, rude management, utility problems, and neighbor issues. This stark contrast underscores the importance of thorough research and caution before choosing to stay at this campground. Local users should carefully weigh the available feedback and consider seeking additional information to make an informed decision about whether Crystal Kangaroo Campground meets their needs and expectations for an RV stay.

Crystal Kangaroo Campground Reviews
OMG‼️ This is a piece of Heaven, I’m Blessed to be here now, in the present 🙏💙🙏🇺🇸💙
Dec 10, 2024 · Lissy KeilyIf I could give zero stars, I would. I am writing this review to warn other people. It’s not worth it, the other reviews are true. It will not be different for you.I stayed there for 4 months until we couldn’t take it anymore. We were evicted for no reason almost every month (sometimes weekly) by a sticky note left on the door. So you never quite feel welcome at your own home wondering what made up rule you broke. The first ever eviction scared us to our core but apparently it’s standard according to the other residents. Madeline the owner is hateful and rude. I have a voicemail from her on my phone saying “just wait until I see you when I’m having a bad day and I’m just gonna make you leave.” She charged at us screaming “I don’t like you.” Kim is a long term resident and creates equal problems. She gives mean looks and complains if you throw your trash away. It’s a shame because there are good people there but they defend Madeline and her behavior. It’s unsettling and no one should have to deal with that. We paid extra for electricity, rent increased 100$ & we have gone days at a time without running water. Seriously, don’t stay here. The picture is from the day we got an eviction notice for our lot looking “like a construction site.”
Apr 02, 2022 · Katie DavidsonLove the views, price, people and fresh air. Landlord is stern but amazing. I will go back if needed.
Feb 05, 2025 · Vicky FerryAfter reading all the reviews about the evil landlord or owners, I wouldn’t stay at this park if it was the last park on earth. It seems like there’s a lot of parks like this. I’d advise anybody wanting to stay at this place to stay clear. You’re just gonna have misery.
Sep 17, 2024 · Ron GrandonBeautiful & quiet! This place is an unexpected treasure. Hiking trails are everywhere. A wonderful experience.
