When searching for "RV parks near me" in Iowa, Louisiana, or if you're traveling along I-10 and need a comfortable and convenient overnight stop, Cypress Bend RV Park, located at 717 N Thompson Ave, Iowa, LA 70647, USA, presents a viable option. Based on the available customer reviews, this park offers a clean, well-maintained environment with practical amenities, although it is primarily recommended as a convenient place to rest during travel rather than a destination for extended leisure.
Convenient for Overnight Stays Along I-10: One of the primary advantages of Cypress Bend RV Park, as highlighted by a traveler, is its suitability for an overnight stop while traveling along I-10. Its proximity to the interstate makes it easily accessible for those on the road, providing a convenient and hassle-free place to rest and recharge before continuing their journey. This accessibility is a significant benefit for transient RVers looking for a reliable stopover.
Clean and Well-Maintained Environment: Both reviewers specifically mention the cleanliness and maintenance of Cypress Bend RV Park. One described it as "clean and safe," while another stated it's a "clean well maintained area." This emphasis on cleanliness is a crucial factor for many RV travelers, ensuring a comfortable and hygienic stay. The well-maintained aspect suggests that the park takes pride in its appearance and the upkeep of its facilities.
Level Concrete Pads and Easy Hookups: For ease of setup and stability, Cypress Bend RV Park offers level concrete pads for RVs. This is a significant advantage, ensuring a stable and even parking surface. Additionally, the park provides easy access to electric and water hookups, which are essential for the functionality and comfort of RVs. Having readily accessible and well-functioning utilities contributes to a positive overnight experience.
Gated for Security: Another notable feature mentioned by a reviewer whose son has his RV in the park is that "It's gated." This suggests that Cypress Bend RV Park prioritizes the security of its guests and their belongings by providing a gated entrance. This added layer of security can offer peace of mind, especially for those staying overnight or keeping their RV there for longer periods.
Proximity to Essential Amenities: Cypress Bend RV Park benefits from its proximity to essential amenities in Iowa, Louisiana. One reviewer noted that it is "Close to eating places," and "a grocery store is within walking distance." This convenience allows guests to easily access dining options and stock up on supplies without having to travel far from the park. Having these necessities nearby enhances the practicality of staying at Cypress Bend RV Park, especially for longer stays or those needing quick access to provisions.

These facilities are essential for maintaining comfort and hygiene while on the road or living in an RV, making the park a more self-sufficient and practical option for various types of stays.
Limited Recreational Activities On-Site: While Cypress Bend RV Park offers convenience and essential amenities, one reviewer pointed out that "you definitely don't want to spend too much time here as there's nothing to do." This suggests that the park is primarily geared towards providing a comfortable and functional place to stay rather than offering extensive recreational activities or attractions within the park itself. Travelers looking for on-site entertainment might need to consider this aspect.
Easy Access to Lake Charles for Dining and Entertainment: Despite the limited on-site activities, Cypress Bend RV Park is conveniently located just a short drive from Lake Charles. One traveler mentioned driving "10 minutes into Lake Charles and enjoyed great seafood dinner at Steamboat Bill's." This proximity to a larger city offers guests access to a wider range of dining, entertainment, and shopping options, compensating for the lack of activities directly at the RV park.
Potentially Tricky to Find: One minor drawback mentioned by a reviewer is that the park was "a little hard to find as you have to drive thru the McDonald's parking lot." This suggests that the entrance to Cypress Bend RV Park might not be immediately obvious and could require navigating through a neighboring business's parking area. First-time visitors should be aware of this potential difficulty when locating the park.
Suitable for Travel Trailers: One reviewer specifically mentioned camping at Cypress Bend RV Park in a Travel Trailer, indicating that the park can accommodate this type of RV. While not explicitly stated, it can be inferred that the level concrete pads and easy hookups would likely also be suitable for other types of RVs.

Cypress Bend RV Park Reviews
Great spot for an overnight while traveling along I-10. You definitely don't want to spend too much time here as there's nothing to do, but for a simple overnight - it's great. Level, concrete pads; easy access to electric and water. This place seemed clean and safe from what I experienced. We drove 10 minutes into Lake Charles and enjoyed great seafood dinner at Steamboat Bill's. This place was a little hard to find as you have to drive thru the McDonald's parking lot. We camped at Cypress Bend RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
Feb 17, 2024 · Randy GreenbergAll I could say about the place is it's a clean well maintained area. Close to eating places, a grocery store is within walking distance. Has a laundry mat and showers. My son has his rv in the park. He likes it. It's gated.
Feb 03, 2024 · Cindy BertrandWorked well for my purposes of an overnight. A bit tricky to find as it is behind a McDonalds/Shell and easy to miss the signage. Nice level concrete pads with well maintained hookups. Good security with automatic gates. Close to I-10 but A/C drowns out most noise. Would stay here again for an overnight.
May 09, 2023 · Ed TubridyBeautiful Tiny Home, Fantastic Rates. Clean and the young girl in the office was very sweet, helpful and courteous. We were tired from driving for 10 hr from TX to FL and decided to stop for the night. I am very happy we gave this place a shot. We were driving a huge Penske truck and they very gladly accommodated a parking area for us.We will definitely stay here again. We HIGHLY Recommend.
Oct 29, 2021 · Diana “Kit-Kat” CGreat place to stay! Most RV parks around lake Charles are priced very high so price is comparable to that of other parks in the area. WiFi is better but not great. Cable works well. The grounds are kept clean from trash, dog feces, and other issues. The staff are friendly and quick to help with any problems or needs. Quiet site even though next to I10 and quiet hours are enforced. Lots of people with dogs in the park but hardly ever heard them bark. There isn't much for small kids to do here though. I highly recommend this park, just wish there was something for the kids.
