You can reach them at (831) 667-2322 or +1 831-667-2322 for inquiries and bookings.
The environment of Big Sur Campground & Cabins is a significant draw for nature lovers. Nestled amongst majestic redwood trees, the campground provides a quintessential Big Sur experience. The towering redwoods offer ample shade, creating a cool and serene atmosphere throughout the property. This setting allows guests to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of the region, with the potential for wildlife sightings and the tranquil ambiance of the redwood forest. The campground's location along Pfeiffer Big Sur Road provides relatively easy access to the scenic wonders of the Big Sur coastline, making it a convenient base for exploring the area's renowned beauty.
Big Sur Campground & Cabins offers a range of services and amenities designed to enhance the comfort and convenience of guests. The A-frame cabins, in particular, appear to be well-equipped for a relaxing getaway. According to customer reviews, these cabins feature three sleeping places, including two cozy lofts, making them suitable for families or small groups. A fireplace adds a touch of rustic charm and warmth, perfect for cooler evenings. The inclusion of a fully stocked kitchen allows guests the flexibility to prepare their own meals. Furthermore, the provision of toiletries, towels, and wooden blankets ensures a comfortable and hassle-free stay, reducing the amount of gear guests need to bring.
The attention to detail in the cabins is frequently highlighted. Guests can expect crisply clean linens, comfortable pillows and blankets, and even thoughtful touches like candles in glass jars to create a warm and cozy ambiance. The reservation for the A-frame cabins also includes several valuable extras, such as unlimited ice, a bundle of firewood for campfires, and swimming tubes for enjoying the nearby river. As a delightful souvenir, guests staying in the cabins also receive two beautifully branded tea cups. The outdoor areas associated with the cabins are equally inviting, featuring a fire hoop for campfires, deck chairs for relaxation, and ample space to enjoy the natural surroundings.
For those opting for traditional campsites, the experience might differ in terms of included amenities. However, the shared access to the natural environment and the campground's facilities remains a key feature. One reviewer mentioned that if guests prefer not to cook, there are plenty of restaurants nearby, as well as a small market within walking distance of the campsite, providing convenient options for meals and basic supplies. While the review focused on a cabin stay, it indicates that all guests have access to the general amenities of the campground.
A significant feature of Big Sur Campground & Cabins, particularly for cabin guests, is the access to river tubing on the property. This provides a fun and refreshing recreational activity, allowing guests to leisurely float along the river and enjoy the natural scenery from a different perspective. The inclusion of swimming tubes with cabin rentals adds value and enhances the overall experience, especially during warmer months.
However, one important aspect to consider, as mentioned in a customer review, is the proximity of the accommodations. Both the cabins and the campsites are described as being built very close together. While the windows throughout the cabins are appreciated for the natural light, the close proximity to other cabins means that privacy can be limited, potentially requiring guests to keep curtains closed. Similarly, the reviewer noted that campers in traditional campsites might find the lack of space between sites frustrating if they are seeking a quiet and secluded experience. This suggests that Big Sur Campground & Cabins might be better suited for those who are comfortable with a more communal camping environment and prioritize the location and amenities over complete privacy.
Despite the potential for a crowded feel, the positive reviews emphasize the overall enjoyable experience at Big Sur Campground & Cabins. The combination of comfortable accommodations, the stunning redwood forest setting, and the convenient amenities like hot showers (likely available to all campers, though token-operated), nearby dining options, and on-site activities like river tubing make it a popular choice for visitors to Big Sur. The inclusion of firewood and a souvenir mug with cabin stays adds a welcoming touch.
While there is no explicit promotional information provided, the positive testimonials and the range of included amenities with the cabin rentals can be seen as strong incentives to choose Big Sur Campground & Cabins. The "unforgettable experience" and "absolute gem" descriptions highlight the potential for a truly memorable stay in one of California's most iconic landscapes. For travelers from Singapore planning a visit to Big Sur, the convenience of well-equipped cabins and the opportunity to immerse themselves in the redwood forest make this campground a compelling option within the "Camping Near Me" category.
In conclusion, Big Sur Campground & Cabins offers a blend of comfort and natural beauty in the heart of Big Sur. Whether opting for a cozy and well-appointed A-frame cabin or a traditional campsite, guests can enjoy the majestic redwood environment and convenient access to nearby attractions and amenities. The inclusion of thoughtful extras with cabin rentals, such as firewood, river tubes, and souvenir mugs, adds value to the stay. While the close proximity of accommodations might be a consideration for those seeking maximum privacy, the overall positive feedback suggests that Big Sur Campground & Cabins provides a worthwhile and memorable experience for those looking to explore the wonders of Big Sur. Contact them at (831) 667-2322 or +1 831-667-2322 to book your stay and experience the magic of camping among the redwoods.

Mar 12, 2025 · Olga LonskaWe spent one night in a beautiful and reasonably priced cabin at Big Sur Campground & Cabins. We really enjoyed our stay. If you are not cooking your own food, there are plenty of restaurants nearby to grab meals, as well as a small market in walking distance from the campsite. Our cabin included firewood and a mug, as well as access to tubing on the property (which we didn’t try). The only downside is how crazy close all the cabins are built. There are windows throughout the cabin, which is great, but people can see through all of them and so we kept them closed the whole time. The same for the campsites. If I was camping on the property, I would be frustrated by the closeness of the campsites. It’s not quiet or secluded, if that’s what you’re looking for, but if you’re okay with a bit of a crowd, then it’s a good option for people trying to find some of the limited accommodations in Big Sur.
Apr 01, 2025 · Seth GarfinkelUpon check-in, we were told our cabin wouldn’t be ready until 4 (an hour late). We also found out they had switched our cabin without notifying us — I had specifically chosen one farther from the basketball court, which we no longer had. The staff apologized but unfortunately we could still hear kids playing basketball constantly. The bed was also very uncomfortable. While we loved Big Sur and the campgrounds are beautiful, I probably wouldn’t stay in this cabin again given the price.
Apr 17, 2025 · Rachel BVery nice campground, but could use with some lights for late arrivals. Also be cautious, the roads are pretty narrow & we learned the hard way that you really shouldn't try to bring a camper over 22ft.Best thing about it is the nice little wading river right down a short, gentle hill. Very clean, though pretty cold. Great for really hot days. It's segmented into 2 big, deep spots.
Nov 30, 2024 · Avery Rose CloudLovely campground. Stayed in a cabin which was clean and tidy. Gave us two mugs, firewood, and hot cocoa for our stay and had a nice fire at night. Employees were nice as well. No wifi which was fine with us, as there are restaurants on highway 1 which have wifi if you need
