This ensures a refreshing experience after a day of hiking or exploring. **Water spigots** are conveniently located between every 3-4 campsites for easy access to fresh water. Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park Main Camp Reviews
This campground is not for folks being loud with music & drinking. Many campers here are more like backpackers & traveling through HWY 1 to next location. It’s NOT the campground for a loud or drinking party. Camp host/rangers will enforce the quite hours rule. Early morning birds singing before sunrise will wake you up, so prepare to go to sleep early to get a full rest. It’s for the folks who enjoy nature and respect others in the near by sites. I do not recommend this campground to others who think they have a freedom to be loud, and not respecting the quiet surroundings.Lots of hiking trails and river gorges/swimming holes are wonderful in hot summer days.Plenty of tall trees surrounding over the most of the sites.A several bathrooms are available with water spigots between 3-4 campsites to share. A several ADA campsites are also available for only ADA campers could book and will be required to show the placard upon arriving to check in those sites.Note to the people who do not know Big Sur area, Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park and campground DO NOT have a beach access. Pfeiffer Beach is NOT a part of the state park. The beach access is run by a regional Monterey Forrest Management company which is again not part of state park and different operation. All the beach photos that are submitted to Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park is NOT a reflection of the state park. Mention of the beach and the photo is not part of the correct review of campground nor state park site.Only waterfall, river gorge and lots of hiking trails in wooded area are in the part of the state park. Please educate yourself before heading to Big Sur.
Jan 02, 2024 · Sunny LeeSo happy with this campsite. Great amenities and awesome park staff. My dog brought home a tick with him though 😭 currently testing it for Lyme disease. We’ll have to take better precautions with him next time
May 03, 2023 · Anthony JasonEasy access to the creek with clear and shallow water. Good place for camping with kids.
Apr 06, 2025 · Yi YaoI am guessing this is for the campsites near the entrance where they have the cabin, this section of the campground is by far the best part! It is near the waterfall trail and the river walk. I stayed here twice once in the cabin and the other in the tent
