Desert Trails RV Park Introduce
For local users searching for "RV parks near me" in the El Centro, CA area, Desert Trails RV Park, located at 225 Wake Ave, El Centro, CA 92243, USA, presents itself as a potential option. You can reach them by phone at (760) 352-7275 or their mobile number, +1 760-352-7275. Based on the limited recent customer feedback available, Desert Trails RV Park appears to offer a unique amenity with its on-site golf course, but also raises significant concerns regarding security and the handling of reported incidents.
One positive aspect highlighted in the reviews is the presence of a "nice little 9 hole course that's friendly with water hazards." This feature could be a significant draw for RV enthusiasts who also enjoy golf, providing a convenient recreational activity within the park premises. The course is described as "perfect place to work on those par three shots," suggesting it caters to golfers of various skill levels looking for a relaxed and accessible golfing experience. The inclusion of water hazards adds an element of challenge and visual appeal to the course. For those searching for "RV parks near me" with on-site recreational activities beyond typical RV amenities, the golf course at Desert Trails RV Park could be a notable feature.
However, the positive note regarding the golf course is starkly contrasted by a serious security incident reported by another customer. This reviewer detailed their experience of storing a toy hauler at the park. Upon dropping it off in January, they and their uncle were allegedly "accused of trying to steal" and threatened by some residents who reportedly said, "we are gunna call the cops if you don’t get out of here." The reviewer emphasized their efforts to be quiet and respectful during their visits, despite paying monthly storage fees. This initial interaction raises concerns about the welcoming atmosphere and the behavior of some long-term residents towards those using the park for storage or presumably shorter stays.
The situation escalated when the same customer returned in March to pick up their toy hauler and discovered that it had been broken into, and their generator had been stolen. Adding to their distress, they reported that "NO ONE SAW ANYTHING AND THEIR IS NOTHING ON THE CAMERAS." This lack of surveillance evidence or witness accounts regarding a significant theft within the park is a serious security concern for potential visitors and storage clients. Furthermore, the reviewer stated that they were not contacted by park management to inform them that their door was open and the lock had been tampered with, indicating a potential lack of proactive communication or security monitoring by the park staff.
The response received from the park management, as reported by the reviewer, was a dismissive "sorry you have to file a police report we can’t do anything." The reviewer expressed skepticism about the effectiveness of filing a police report for a break-in that occurred sometime within a two-month window. This reported lack of direct assistance or responsibility from the park management in addressing a security breach on their premises is deeply concerning and could deter others from choosing Desert Trails RV Park for either short-term stays or long-term storage.
Based on these reviews, the environment of Desert Trails RV Park is somewhat contradictory. On one hand, it offers the amenity of a 9-hole golf course, suggesting a recreational focus. On the other hand, the reported incident involving accusations of theft and the subsequent break-in and theft from a stored vehicle paint a picture of potential security vulnerabilities and a possibly unwelcoming environment from some residents. The lack of camera surveillance evidence and the park's response to the theft further contribute to a sense of unease regarding the overall security and management's handling of such issues.
In terms of services, the presence of a 9-hole golf course is a notable feature that goes beyond typical RV park amenities. However, the information regarding essential services such as hookups (water, electricity, sewer), restrooms, laundry facilities, or Wi-Fi is entirely absent in the provided reviews. The reported lack of proactive communication regarding the break-in of a stored vehicle also raises questions about the level of service and attention provided by the park management to the security and well-being of their guests and storage clients.
Key features that can be identified are the 9-hole golf course and the availability of RV storage. However, the significant security concerns raised by the theft incident and the initial accusatory interaction with some residents overshadow the positive aspect of the golf course. The lack of information about other standard RV park features makes it difficult to provide a comprehensive overview of what Desert Trails RV Park offers.
There is no promotional information available in the provided text. Therefore, it is not possible to discuss any special offers, discounts for golfers, or security enhancements that Desert Trails RV Park might be promoting to attract new guests or address the concerns raised in the reviews.
In conclusion, Desert Trails RV Park in El Centro offers the unique amenity of a 9-hole golf course, which could be appealing to RVers who are also golf enthusiasts. However, significant security concerns have been raised regarding accusations of theft, a break-in and theft from a stored vehicle with no camera evidence or witnesses, and a seemingly dismissive response from the park management. Local users searching for "RV parks near me" should carefully weigh the potential benefit of the golf course against the serious security issues highlighted in the customer feedback. Further investigation into the park's security measures, management responsiveness to security incidents, and the overall environment beyond the golf course is strongly recommended before making a decision to stay at or store an RV at Desert Trails RV Park.

Desert Trails RV Park Reviews
The golf course isn't too bad. Nice little 9 hole course that's friendly with water hazards. Perfect place to work on those par three shots.
Apr 28, 2025 · Will BennettWe store our toy hauler here. In January when we dropped it off. We were accused of trying to steal and were threatened with “we are gunna call the cops if you don’t get out of here” by a couple of the residents of this place. Mind you we always try to be as quiet as we can and be in and out to be respectful of the people that live here even though we pay our dues every month. Now March we come to pick up our toy hauler and it’s been broken into and our generator was stolen and NO ONE SAW ANYTHING AND THEIR IS NOTHING ON THE CAMERAS. No one called us to let us know that our door was OPEN and the lock was tampered with. We got a “sorry you have to file a police report we can’t do anything”. Filing a police report with our toy hauler was broken into sometime between January - March of this year sounds like a lot will be done 🙄
