Fernwood Mobile Home Community Introduce
For individuals and families searching for "RV parks near me" in the Ontario, California area, Fernwood Mobile Home Community, located at 1512 E 5th St, Ontario, CA 91764, USA, presents itself as a residential option. They can be contacted at (909) 986-9443 or via mobile phone at +1 909-986-9443 for inquiries regarding availability and services for RV living.
Based on the information available from customer reviews, Fernwood Mobile Home Community appears to be a place where a sense of community exists, particularly concerning the presence of children. One reviewer mentions, "We have kids in this park unsupervised and comfortable like a family community so we seriously need those signs back for safety reasoning clearly." This suggests that the park may attract families and foster a neighborly environment where children feel safe and comfortable playing within the community.
However, the reviews also raise several significant concerns that prospective residents, including those considering long-term RV stays, should carefully consider. A recurring and prominent issue revolves around the presence of stray and inadequately managed pet cats within the community. Multiple reviewers express frustration and health concerns related to this situation. Complaints include cats reproducing unchecked, residents feeding strays, and the resultant problems of cat feces and urine in common areas and on personal property such as carports and vehicles. One reviewer stated being "sick of stepping in *piles by my carport &car.Daily! Now they're peeing on my car!" Another mentioned cats being on their roof and potentially leaving feces there, along with concerns about flea infestations and allergies.
The management's response to these pet-related issues is also a point of contention, with one reviewer expressing a desire for stricter enforcement of park rules regarding pets and responsible pet ownership. The sentiment is that the burden of dealing with the consequences of stray and neglected animals is falling on other residents.
Beyond the animal-related problems, there are also complaints regarding the condition of some of the park's facilities. One reviewer specifically mentions the need for "new washers" in the laundry facilities, stating that the existing ones are "filthy & can't thoroughly clean anymore," even leading to dirt spots on freshly washed clothes. This suggests that the laundry amenities may be in need of maintenance or replacement.
Another significant concern raised is the issue of pest control within the park. A resident reports spending a considerable amount on pesticides for ants and fleas, attributing the problem to the "abundance of stray cats, lose dogs, etc. During summers." This indicates a potential issue with pest management throughout the community, which could impact the comfort and health of residents, including those in RVs.
Furthermore, one long-term resident of 21 years expresses a feeling of "Favoritism" and a lack of care from the management towards the residents. This reviewer recounts instances of personal items disappearing and reappearing, and dissatisfaction with the maintenance of trees and other aspects of the park's upkeep. The gym is described as having "messed up equipment" and smelling unpleasant ("like a 1930's ashtray"). These comments suggest potential issues with park management, maintenance, and the quality of communal facilities.
The issue of safety within the park is also brought up, with a resident requesting the reinstatement of speed limit signs due to the presence of "unsupervised" children playing in the community. This highlights a potential safety concern that management may need to address to ensure the well-being of all residents, especially children.
Finally, there are mentions of a lack of respect among some residents, with complaints about decorations being moved or damaged and the slow removal of accumulated junk from certain properties. These issues point to potential challenges in maintaining community standards and ensuring a respectful living environment for all.
For those considering Fernwood Mobile Home Community as one of their "RV parks near me," it is crucial to weigh the potential for a family-friendly atmosphere against the significant concerns raised in the customer reviews. The issues related to stray animals, pest control, laundry facilities, park maintenance, management responsiveness, and resident behavior should be carefully evaluated based on your individual needs and tolerance levels.
Prospective RV residents are strongly encouraged to contact Fernwood Mobile Home Community directly to inquire about the current status of the issues raised in the reviews. It would be beneficial to ask about their policies regarding pets, pest control measures, plans for facility upgrades, and how they address resident concerns. Visiting the park in person to assess the environment and the condition of the facilities would also be a valuable step in making an informed decision. Speaking with current residents, if possible, could provide further insights into the day-to-day living experience at Fernwood Mobile Home Community.
In conclusion, while Fernwood Mobile Home Community in Ontario, CA, may offer a community feel that appeals to families, the available customer reviews highlight several significant and persistent issues related to stray animals, pest control, facility maintenance, and management responsiveness. Individuals searching for "RV parks near me" should carefully consider these potential drawbacks and conduct thorough due diligence before deciding if Fernwood is the right fit for their long-term living needs.

We Seriously!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! need to get the pound here for the cats reproducing and residents feeding strays, I'm sick of stepping in *piles by my carport &car.Daily! Now they're peeing on my car!The lady on the street behind me has taken in a cat who's had 2 litters therefore she's now got 8 cats at least! One is on my roof! Often and probably leaving feces! they're flea infested too.I'm also very allergic, this is daily harassment, get the cats out, they're disgusting! The residents responsible should be removed for breaking park rules carelessly and intentionally.Come on management hassle these people who actually deserve write ups!The park really needs new washers the current one's are not cleaning the clothes I just washed a light pink shirt and now it's got dirt spots because the inside of the washers r filthy & can't thoroughly clean anymore. Also our park severely needs pest control I've spent over $200 in pesticides for the ants and fleas due the abundance of stray cats, lose dogs, etc. During summers. This park needs a lot of help upgrades.
May 01, 2025 · Christina PadillaNeed to get rid of the flea infested cat's people get and just put outside I'm sick of the smell and cleaning outside n getting pee allover my hands!!!!!! The amount of cat poop is making me not want to go outside let alone do yardwork anymore I even see my old lady neighbor come out in frustration, her neighbor behind her has 7 cats now due to the unfixed mom.Read the rules! Don't get animals n just neglect them! Other's suffer due to your laziness and disrespect! I wish we were reimbursed for flea and roach spray with all the metal recycling going on 💯👎Favoritism.. They don't care enough about the resident's. Been here 21yrs.. I've had recyclables bikes and now a broken antique brass pot disappear then be put back. They call the hazardous trees here beautiful and don't maintain them, only the ones they want like my 🥑 Avocado tree when it was full,my avocados were dispersed and I was left one bag on my back porch, the tree died & they took the tree down with no notifying me what so ever that was the rudest situation by far. Now we're suffering in this heat smh.The gym with a bunch of messed up equipment smells like a 1930's ashtray. 🚬>Need to put the speed limit signs back up and more.We have kids in this park unsupervised and comfortable like a family community so we seriously need those signs back for safety reasoning clearly.Today I came home to another decoration gone and against another neighbors house and my decorations messed up &plants smh because they finally cleaned there junk collection ive witnessed n suffered from since I moved in but 😩👎.. people sometimes..no respect 🙄😑
Mar 11, 2025 · Christina PI have been living here for over 10 years. Poor Management. They need to get better management who really care about their community. Since its a private community, you need to abide by their laws. Those laws are very strict and very prejudice. The community needs better overall maintenance (cleanliness, empty lots, hygiene etc). The community has a lot of potential once we get better management who CARE about their community and begin treating people with respect.
Nov 16, 2020 · Jesus BermudezI have been living here for 1 year now. I have always lived in orange county. Decided to move here and I love it. Its private. I feel safe. The management has rules and they make sure they are followed. Management is awesome. They are very nice. I couldn't ask for a safer and clean place to live. Neighbors mind their own business. But they do wave hi to you....all the time...the community center is clean pools are clean...excercise room and pool table rooms are clean...laundry rooms are clean and cheap washing and drying machines. ...thank you Fernwood...
Feb 05, 2017 · Teresa MarcelinoI am in love with my new home at this peaceful community. Francis, our assistance manager, has helped me so much a new resident with all the questions Ive had and that makes this park the best of all!
