Forbes Landing RV Park Introduce
Are you searching for "RV parks near me" in the Topeka, Kansas area? Forbes Landing RV Park, located at 5932 SW Topeka Blvd, Topeka, KS 66619, USA, presents itself as an option for your camping needs. To provide an objective introduction, it's essential to consider the various aspects of this park, including its environment, services, features, and any available feedback from fellow travelers.
One positive review highlights a pleasant experience at Forbes Landing RV Park. The reviewer specifically praises the camp host, Joyce, for being "very polite" and "accommodating." They enjoyed their interactions with her and found the bathrooms to be "nice and clean" and well-maintained. The park was described as "nice and quiet," with the added interest of occasional airplane flyovers from Forbes Field, which were particularly enjoyable during air shows. The convenience of the park's location for accessing laundry facilities, dining options, shopping, and family visits was also noted as a significant advantage. This reviewer enthusiastically recommends Forbes Landing RV Park for future camping trips.
However, a starkly contrasting and deeply concerning review from a long-term guest (June/July to December) raises serious safety and management issues. This reviewer strongly advises lone female travelers to avoid spot #12 due to an unsettling experience with a nearby male individual during their initial weeks, which escalated to the point where they felt compelled to move for their safety. The behaviors described as "threatening and creepy" included unwanted interactions, feeling watched, and an incident where the neighbor reported a false concern to the camp host about lights and a smell coming from the reviewer's camper.
The same long-term reviewer also expresses significant dissatisfaction with the park manager, Joyce. They report difficulty in contacting her prior to their stay, feeling that their business was unimportant, and observing numerous vacant spots despite being initially told there was no availability. Communication reportedly improved only after obtaining Joyce's personal cell phone number through a co-worker.
Further negative experiences detailed by this reviewer include being moved to a spot next to a "severely dilapidated trailer" held together with duct tape, which resulted in open sewer lines and a significant infestation of flies, cockroaches, and other bugs. They incurred considerable expense trying to manage this issue. Additionally, they recount an incident where, upon returning after a few days away in December, they found their water had been turned down due to a minor leak, leading to partially frozen basement and tanks.
The long-term reviewer also shares a peculiar incident involving scissors left on their truck tailgate that were later found by the dumpster, despite neither they nor their husband having gone there. Furthermore, they mention neighbors dumping trash and beer cans on their site and allowing their dogs to defecate at their stairs. Despite the cheap rent being a minor positive, the reviewer concludes with a strong warning against being swayed by price and suggests that recent positive reviews might be inauthentic, noting a significant increase in the park's star rating coinciding with their negative experiences.
Considering these contrasting accounts, the environment of Forbes Landing RV Park appears to have both positive and negative aspects. While one reviewer found it "nice and quiet" and enjoyed the proximity to Forbes Field, another experienced unsanitary conditions due to a neighboring dilapidated RV and issues with inconsiderate neighbors regarding trash and pet waste. The potential safety concern raised by the long-term reviewer about a specific individual is particularly alarming and should not be disregarded.
The services and features of Forbes Landing RV Park also receive mixed feedback. The camp host, Joyce, is described as "polite" and "accommodating" by one reviewer, while the long-term guest found her difficult to reach, unresponsive to safety concerns, and seemingly incompetent. The clean and well-maintained bathrooms are a noted positive. However, the lack of mention of other typical RV park amenities like laundry facilities (despite the location being convenient to external ones), recreational areas, or organized activities might suggest they are either limited or non-existent within the park itself.
Promotional information for Forbes Landing RV Park is not explicitly provided beyond the positive experiences shared in the reviews. The convenience of its location for accessing local amenities and family is a potential selling point. However, the serious safety concerns and allegations of mismanagement raised by the long-term reviewer significantly undermine any positive promotion. The claim that recent high ratings might be искусственные also warrants caution when assessing the park's overall reputation.
For local users in Topeka, KS, searching for "RV parks near me," Forbes Landing RV Park presents a complex picture. While the convenient location and the positive interaction with the camp host reported by one reviewer are appealing, the serious safety concerns, alleged mismanagement, and unsanitary conditions described by a long-term guest must be given significant weight. Lone female travelers, in particular, should heed the warning about spot #12 and the unsettling individual mentioned.
Prospective visitors should contact Forbes Landing RV Park at (785) 862-8818 or +1 785-862-8818 to inquire about current rates, site availability, amenities, and safety protocols. It would be prudent to ask specifically about the park's policies regarding neighborly conduct, security measures, and how management addresses resident concerns. Given the conflicting reviews, it might also be beneficial to seek out more recent feedback from other campers if available online or through other RVing communities.
A personal visit to Forbes Landing RV Park could provide valuable insights. Observing the general condition of the park, the cleanliness of the facilities, the layout of the sites, and the overall atmosphere could help potential guests form their own impressions. If possible, briefly interacting with current campers (while respecting their privacy) might offer additional perspectives on the living experience at the park.
In conclusion, Forbes Landing RV Park in Topeka, KS, offers a conveniently located option for RVers with a reportedly friendly camp host and clean bathrooms. However, significant safety concerns and allegations of poor management and unsanitary conditions from a long-term guest necessitate extreme caution. Local users searching for "RV parks near me" should carefully weigh the positive aspects against the serious negative feedback and conduct thorough due diligence before making a reservation. Lone female travelers should be particularly aware of the safety warning provided in one of the reviews.

Forbes Landing RV Park Reviews
We really enjoyed our stay at Forbes Landing RV park. The camp host Joyce was very polite accommodating. I enjoyed it when we got to visit a couple times as it helped in getting to know her. ❤️Bathrooms were nice and clean and kept up. The park was nice and quiet to stay at. Sometimes you could hear planes flying over from Forbes air base, but we enjoyed that part to. Especially during the air show. We loved the convenience of the park being in a good location for laundry, dining and shopping needs and for family visits. I definitely recommend staying at Forbes Landing RV Park for your future camping trip. Thank you.
Dec 22, 2024 · Vicki***If you are a lone female traveler, PLEASE do not accept spot #12. There is a man nearby that made my first few weeks incredibly uncomfortable to the point where I had to move.***I stayed at this park from June/July to December.Joyce, the park manager, is not easy to get a hold of. I called a couple of times before my stay and my calls went to voicemail. When I was able to talk to her, I felt like my business wasn’t at all important as I was met with a prompt “no” on availability for a spot. During my stay, I noticed 5-10 open spots. A co-worker had to give me her spot vacancy and Joyce’s personal cell phone number to even get ahold of her properly.I was initially placed in a spot next to a lone trucker named Steve. He initially seemed friendly enough, but quickly got weird when I told him I was in Topeka by myself for work. All future interactions were extremely uncomfortable and unwanted. While changing my propane tanks he burst out of his camper and asked me if I knew where I was going with those. I tried to keep the conversation short but he would NOT let up. I couldn’t help but wonder how long he had been watching me inside his camper. In another instance, he ran behind my truck as I was trying to back up into my spot. As I was out one night, I got a call from Joyce- Steve “saw lights on and noticed a weird smell” coming from my camper. I have blackout curtains and there was no smell. His actions went beyond neighborly- they were threatening and creepy. I honestly was too scared to go back to the camper that night. When contacted about me moving spots the next day, she responded that he was “pretty harmless” and that she’d just put another female there next to him (see text below). I was told I would be followed up with regarding his behavior, and never was.I was so desperate to get away from Steve, I blindly chose the furthest spot out of his view, but I ended up next to a severely dilapidated trailer. This RV was literally held together with duct tape. The open sewer lines lead to a summer full flies, cockroaches, and other bugs. I spent a significant amount of money on UV lights and chemicals. My pump was broken, so I couldn’t winterize it, but left my rig to a drip when I was gone for a few days in December. When I returned, I found a sticky note on my door saying that since the water was leaking at my ground pump, it had been turned down. My basement and tanks were partially frozen. My husband and I had washed my slide out in preparation to pack up and I had left scissors on the truck tailgate. Later that night, my husband said he found them by the dumpster. Neither of us went to the dumpster before that. When packing up the RV, Joyce stopped by to give me my final receipt, expressing that she “wish she knew” how awful my stay was. I didn’t report anything further after the Steve incident because it became obvious that she doesn’t care, is clearly incompetent, and doesn’t have any interest in doing her job.Miscellaneous: neighbors dumping beer cans and trash on my site, people letting their dogs poop at my stairs.2 stars instead of 1 because the rent was cheap, but “If you buy on price, you pay for it twice”.Don’t be fooled by these recent 5 star reviews- I believe they’re being bought. They had 3.0 stars when I initially moved in. I agree with campers having a great experience staying one night, but as someone who stayed there for 5-6 months, there wasn’t that much overnight traffic.
Jan 02, 2025 · Ashley RomansAbsolutely unreachable and unavailable. Not even sure they’re in business except that their VM states the name of the park.Prior to that we sent emails through their website.I left two voicemails on Monday 4/14. Left the information they requested and waited. Never heard back.Called back on Wednesday 4/16 and STILL no one answers the phone and it goes to VM.No one is so busy as to blow off customers for more than ten days with the email contact and then reaching out by phone. I guess they don’t need our money
Apr 16, 2025 · Bald and BullyNice little pull in RV park but some of the neighbors were very loud banging on stuff at 2-4 in the morning not to mention screaming coming from one of the back lots in a Winnebago..
Mar 26, 2025 · Tracy BabioneA wonderful place to stay for an overnight if 'traveling-through' or for a couple of nights while taking in the local attractions. The hostess, Joyce, was very responsive while making reservations, helpful upon arrival, and engaged with our future needs/situations. We highly recommend Forbes Landing RV Park.
