Fort Leonard Wood MWR RV Park Introduce
Located at 299 Ordinance Dr, Fort Leonard Wood, MO 65473, USA, the Fort Leonard Wood MWR RV Park provides a camping option primarily catering to military personnel, their families, and potentially other authorized users associated with the Fort Leonard Wood military installation. For those searching within the category of "RV parks near me" in the vicinity of Fort Leonard Wood, this RV park offers a specific set of features and considerations.
The environment at Fort Leonard Wood MWR RV Park is characterized by its practical design. The sites feature "large, level concrete pads with patios," which is a significant advantage for RVers looking for stable and easy setup. However, it is noted that the sites do not have picnic tables. While one reviewer mentioned this was not an issue for them, it could be a drawback for those who prefer outdoor dining at their campsite. A notable aspect of the environment is the absence of trees within the RV park itself. While this might be seen as a negative for those seeking shade and a more natural setting, it is considered "great for satellite exposure," which is a benefit for RVers who rely on satellite television or internet services. The interior roads of the park are paved, which the reviewer observed as being popular with neighborhood children for activities like bike riding and roller skating, suggesting a family-friendly atmosphere within the community.
In terms of services, the reviews indicate a somewhat basic offering within the RV park itself. One reviewer stated, "There's nothing here but the sites," implying a lack of on-site amenities such as recreational facilities or a dedicated camp store within the park boundaries. However, the significant advantage highlighted is the proximity to the extensive amenities available on the Fort Leonard Wood military post. These could include shopping facilities, dining options, recreational centers, and other services typically found on a military base. For specific information on the hookups available at the RV sites (e.g., water, electric, sewer), laundry facilities, or any other park-specific services, it is advisable to contact the RV park directly at (573) 596-4223 or +1 573-596-4223.
A crucial feature to note, as pointed out by a reviewer, is the limited availability of extended stays. According to this feedback, "only a few slots are available for extended stay," with the majority of sites having a one-week limitation. This is a significant consideration for individuals planning to be in the Fort Leonard Wood area for longer durations, such as those on temporary duty assignments or visiting for several months. The reviewer, who was at FLW for five months, was unable to secure an extended stay despite the park reportedly never being full, usually having "about 5-7 vacant slots." This suggests that the one-week limitation is strictly enforced for most sites. Another practical consideration mentioned is the difficulty in contacting the park via phone, with the reviewer stating that "the phone is rarely answered or not working in the office." This potential communication barrier could make it challenging to make reservations or obtain information.
Currently, no specific promotional information for Fort Leonard Wood MWR RV Park is available in the provided text. MWR (Morale, Welfare, and Recreation) facilities often offer competitive rates for military personnel and their families. To inquire about current rates, eligibility for staying at the park, any potential discounts for longer stays (if available), and the process for making reservations, interested individuals should attempt to contact the park directly using the provided phone numbers. Given the reported issues with phone communication, persistence may be required.
In conclusion, Fort Leonard Wood MWR RV Park offers large, level concrete RV sites with patios and the significant benefit of close proximity to the amenities available on the military post. This can be a major advantage for authorized users who can access these facilities. The absence of picnic tables and trees within the park itself might be a consideration for some. The limited availability for extended stays, with most sites restricted to one week, is a critical factor for those planning a longer visit. Additionally, potential communication challenges due to the phone being rarely answered or not working should be anticipated. For those eligible to stay at Fort Leonard Wood MWR RV Park and whose needs align with its offerings, it provides a functional base with access to post resources. However, for extended stays, alternative options in the local area, as suggested by one reviewer, may need to be explored. Contacting the park directly for the most current information on availability, rates, and services is essential, keeping in mind the potential communication difficulties.
The family-friendly aspect, indicated by the children enjoying the paved roads for recreational activities, suggests a welcoming community for those traveling with kids. The good satellite exposure due to the lack of trees is a practical benefit for many RVers. However, the primary focus seems to be on providing basic, well-maintained sites with convenient access to the broader range of facilities offered by the military installation. For those prioritizing on-site amenities within the RV park itself or requiring extended stays, Fort Leonard Wood MWR RV Park might not be the ideal choice. Nevertheless, its strategic location for accessing the post and its level concrete pads make it a viable option for short-term stays for eligible individuals. Perseverance in contacting the park management is recommended to secure reservations and gather necessary details.

Fort Leonard Wood MWR RV Park Reviews
Large, level concrete pads with patios. NO picnic tables (ok for us we never use them anyway). There's nothing here but the sites but the post has everything you need close by. Excellent fitness trail a mile away. Not a single tree which is great for satellite exposure. The neighbors kids seemed to love the paved interior roads for bikes and roller skating
Oct 14, 2024 · Glenn SeveranceOnly a few slots are available for extended stay. The rest are limited to one week. I was unable to get one for the 5 months I was at FLW but the park was never full. It usually had about 5-7 vacant slots. I drove by it on a regular basis while at FLW. The phone is rarely answered or not working in the office. That being said there are other good local options. So don't be discouraged.
Mar 23, 2024 · Kadir OlekWhat a great new RV park they have on Ft Leonard Wood. Sites are all concrete with hookups centered on the RV pad for easy and short connections. The park is conveniently located near mainside for easy access to the exchange and commissary. Very quiet park other than some road noise every now and then. There were no laundry or bath facilities for this campground. Overall it is a nice park and we will be back again next time I have work in the area.
Dec 13, 2022 · James StinnettIt is a new, clean, and nice area. The turn in is not useful at all for a travel trailer and I had to go all the way around and then back up into a gravel turn in to make my spot. Just stayed at Ft Bliss for $20 a night with bathrooms/showers/family room/workout facility and 3 dog runs. They need to reduce the rate until it has some support. Not even a grill in any of these sites
Jul 28, 2022 · Col Bernie Bunyan WillisCampground located in a field with Immature trees provide no shade, or break from the wind. Concrete slab with no picnic table or bonfire or grill. $30 a day 160 a week and 575 a month. As other reviewers have stated there are no shower facilities, no laundry facilities.
