Fort Morgan RV Park Introduce
If you are searching for "RV parks near me" in the Gulf Shores, Alabama area, Fort Morgan RV Park, located at 10397 2nd St, Gulf Shores, AL 36542, USA, warrants consideration. However, it is crucial to be aware of recent customer feedback which suggests the park is currently undergoing significant changes and may not meet the expectations set by its previous state or online representations.
One recent review indicates that Fort Morgan RV Park is currently in a state of "rebuilding." While the reviewer expresses hope that it "will be a good place to relax and unwind" once this process is complete, they describe the park in its current condition as "small and kind of trashy." This suggests that potential visitors should be prepared for ongoing construction or renovation work that may impact the overall aesthetic and possibly the amenities of the park.
The same reviewer also raises concerns about the pet area, stating that it "is not good." For travelers who bring their pets along, this is a significant factor to consider. The quality and suitability of pet areas can greatly affect the comfort and convenience of both owners and their animals during their stay at an RV park.
Furthermore, the nightly rates at Fort Morgan RV Park are described as "too high" by one recent visitor. Price is always a key consideration when choosing an RV park, and this feedback suggests that the current rates may not align with the perceived value or the current condition of the facilities. It would be advisable to inquire about the current pricing and compare it with other "RV parks near me" in the Gulf Shores area to ensure it fits your budget and expectations.
In terms of location, Fort Morgan RV Park is situated "a few miles to town," implying that while it may offer a quieter setting away from the immediate hustle of Gulf Shores, it may require a drive to access town amenities, restaurants, and shopping. The beach access is also noted to be "about a mile away," which may necessitate driving or a longer walk to reach the Gulf beaches.
On a more positive note, the review mentions that the "bay access in the park is very nice." This could be a significant draw for those interested in bay-related activities such as fishing, kayaking, or simply enjoying the waterfront scenery. However, a subsequent, more critical review directly contradicts this, stating, "There is no access to the bay to launch a kayak or paddle board." This discrepancy highlights the potential for outdated or inaccurate information and the importance of seeking current and verified details from the park management.
The second, more extensive review expresses significant disappointment and alleges that the "representation of the park is completely misleading to the public." The reviewer claims that the "pictures you've posted have nothing to do with the park" and that any previous access to the bay for launching kayaks or paddleboards no longer exists. This is a serious accusation that potential visitors should take into account and directly address with the park management to ascertain the accuracy of their current online presence.
This long-time visitor laments the changes occurring at Fort Morgan RV Park, stating that the current changes are not bringing back the people who have frequented the park for years and that the management has "lost site of what the ppl want, especially out here on the peninsula." The reviewer emphasizes the historical significance of the area as a "fishing community" and suggests that the new direction of the park may not cater to this demographic.
The reviewer further expresses skepticism about attracting a "higher class clientele" with the current pricing, arguing that those willing to pay premium rates for warm winter stays are likely to head further south than Alabama. This perspective suggests a potential mismatch between the park's pricing strategy and the regional travel patterns and expectations.
Perhaps the most concerning aspect of this review is the statement that the reviewer and people they know will "not return" to the park due to the changes and what they perceive as unreasonable rules ("your rules are absolutely bullshit"). This strong sentiment from a long-term patron underscores the extent of the dissatisfaction with the park's current state and direction.
Given these recent and critical reviews, individuals searching for "RV parks near me" in the Gulf Shores area should exercise caution and conduct thorough due diligence before booking a stay at Fort Morgan RV Park. It is imperative to contact the park management directly at (251) 540-2416 or +1 251-540-2416 to obtain current information about the park's condition, amenities, pet policies, pricing, and the accuracy of their online representations, especially regarding bay access.
When you call, be sure to ask specific questions based on the concerns raised in the reviews, such as:
- The current status of any rebuilding or renovation work and how it might affect your stay.
- Details about the pet area and its suitability.
- The current nightly rates and any potential discounts for longer stays.
- The exact distance to the nearest beach access and town amenities.
- The availability and accessibility of bay access for activities like kayaking or paddleboarding. Request specific details and potentially recent photos.
- Clarification on any rules or policies that have caused concern among previous visitors.
- An accurate description of the park's current environment and facilities, and request recent, unedited photos that reflect the present condition.
By asking these direct questions, you can gain a clearer understanding of the current reality at Fort Morgan RV Park and determine if it aligns with your expectations and needs when searching for "RV parks near me" in Gulf Shores, AL. The significant discrepancies between the positive mention of bay access in one review and its complete denial in another highlight the importance of seeking the most up-to-date information directly from the park.
In conclusion, while Fort Morgan RV Park is located in a potentially desirable area near Gulf Shores, AL, recent customer reviews raise serious concerns about its current condition due to ongoing rebuilding, the quality of the pet area, potentially high nightly rates, and allegations of misleading representation, particularly regarding bay access. Potential visitors are strongly advised to contact the park management directly at (251) 540-2416 or +1 251-540-2416 to obtain accurate and current information before making a reservation.

Fort Morgan RV Park Reviews
Maybe when the rebuilding is complete this will be a good place to relax and unwind. Now it's small and kind of trashy. The pet area is not good. Nighty rates are too high! It's a few miles to town. The beach access is about a mile away. Bay access in the park is very nice.
Feb 26, 2025 · Terry TYou no longer need to contact us. I feel the representation of the park is completely misleading to the public. The pictures you've posted have nothing to do with the park. There is no access to the bay to launch a kayak or paddle board. You have ruined what was once a beautiful park your changes are not going to bring back the ppl that have come here for years. You have lost site of what the ppl want, especially out here on the peninsula. It's always been a fishing community but I wouldn't expect you to understand that.If you think you are going to get a higher class clientele to stay at this park you are going to be disappointed. Those ppl that will pay these prices are not coming to Alabama where the winter is cold. They are going further south. Where they have warm sunny days all winter long. The money is not the issue for us it is the way you have taken this park and changed it into something that clearly all the ppl I know will not return and your rules are absolutely bullshit. It is sad that we will no longer return to a place we called home. But this place no longer represents what we once loved.Susan Birrell
Mar 17, 2025 · Susan BirrellThis was a great place to stay, near so many things to do. Very well maintained. I would look forward to going back again soon.
Mar 17, 2025 · Catherine AmelinkUnfortunately it's not what it used to be. We aren't coming back. It's a shame since the southern hospitality tone of the park seems to be forgotten with the new ownership. We wish the new owners the best in their endeavors.
Mar 27, 2025 · Rufus FireflyWow!! $152/night for a camp spot! no thank you! Especially when there are no pictures of any spots.
