They should really consider renaming this community to 'Racist/Age-ist Village'I live next to this place and have a few acquaintances who i have developed as they visit our property usually walking their dogs(note our society is private property and we dont treat these people poorly). I was on my way to visit one of them when one of the residents there took exception to me being there and told me to get off private property.I told her I was visiting someone and she told me she would call the police unless I told her who i was visiting. I asked her what authority she had to be asking me and she had no answer other than it was private property. It looked like she had done this kind of harassment before and was used to getting her way.Anyway, I told the person I was visiting about the incident and they told me that some residents are 'racist' and use the management to make the society more exclusionist. Over the next few days other people told me the same thing so I decided to complain.I wrote an email to property management as this community is run by a government organization (KCHA). After multiple reminders I was able to get responses to only 2 of my emails. They told me that the resident was probably surprised to see me as its a 55+ community. They did not answer any questions on what authority this resident had and if they did anything wrong showing implicit support to the racism.Through FOIA requests I was able to discover this racist resident took my photos (which she is allowed to on public property lol) and had contacted the HOA. The HOA conveniently forgot to tell me about this and were chatting about this in the background. They also told me they have a rule around guests being accompanied by residents at all times, this representation was made by 'Marcia Long | Property Specialist, Friendly Village'. They stopped responding when i asked for the specific rule. It would be a very hard rule to actually implement as you can imagine it means that all residents must meet guests at the entrance.Through a FOIA request I got the rule they were supposedly referring to and it turned out she had blatantly lied to me. There is no such rule, there is however a rule that is specific to children and teenagers which i can assure you I dont look like or for those staying beyond 15 days. So, in short this is a poorly run, atleast partially taxpayer funded community where residents are encouraged to harass visitors and property management instead of educating the residents is more concerned with lying to defend their agenda and withholding information. Another great example of why the government should not be in business as it leads to zero accountability. - Ankit Sud

Are you searching for "RV parks near me" in the Redmond, Washington area that cater to the 55+ community? Consider Friendly Village, located at 18425 NE 95th St, Redmond, WA 98052, USA. This mobile home park is explicitly described as a 55+ community, which may offer a specific lifestyle and environment tailored to older adults. However, the available reviews present a complex and somewhat contradictory picture of the living experience at Friendly Village.

One reviewer suggests a highly negative characterization of the community, proposing a renaming to "Racist/Age-ist Village." This serious accusation stems from personal experiences and reports from acquaintances who visit residents within the community. The reviewer recounts an incident of being confronted and seemingly harassed by a resident for being on the property while visiting someone. This interaction led to the reviewer being told the police would be called if they did not disclose the person they were visiting. The reviewer felt this resident acted with undue authority and had likely engaged in similar behavior previously.

Following this incident, the reviewer spoke with the person they were visiting and others within Friendly Village, who allegedly described some residents as "racist" and claimed that management was used to create a more exclusionist environment. This paints a concerning picture of potential social dynamics within the community, suggesting that some visitors and possibly residents may experience unwelcome or discriminatory behavior.

The reviewer further details their attempts to address these concerns with the property management, which is identified as being run by a government organization (KCHA). They report difficulties in obtaining responses to their complaints, eventually receiving replies to only two out of multiple emails. The management's response to the initial incident allegedly focused on the reviewer being an unexpected visitor in a 55+ community but did not address the resident's authority or potential wrongdoing, which the reviewer interpreted as implicit support for the alleged discriminatory behavior.

Through Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, the reviewer claims to have uncovered that the resident who confronted them took their photos and contacted the Homeowners Association (HOA). The reviewer alleges that the HOA did not inform them of this and discussed it privately. Additionally, management reportedly cited a rule requiring guests to be accompanied by residents at all times but allegedly failed to provide the specific rule when requested. The reviewer further claims that the rule provided through a FOIA request was actually specific to children and teenagers or guests staying beyond 15 days, implying that the management misrepresented the community's guest policy.

This detailed account raises significant concerns about the community's social environment, management practices, and transparency regarding rules and regulations. Potential residents and their visitors should be aware of these allegations and consider how they might impact their experience at Friendly Village.

In contrast, another reviewer, whose parents have lived in Friendly Village for over 12 years, offers a more positive perspective. They state that their parents "love their place" and appreciate the "nice big place with a beautiful park like setting." This suggests that the physical environment of Friendly Village may be quite appealing, with spacious grounds and attractive landscaping. The reviewer also mentions amenities such as a pool (though reportedly shut down at the time of review) and a rec room, as well as "lots of outdoor activity space," indicating that the community offers opportunities for recreation and social engagement among residents.

However, this second reviewer also acknowledges "obvious negatives," primarily "all the nit picking rules and angry elderly who don't like young people," which they attribute to the nature of a 55+ park. This aligns with the first reviewer's experience of potential age-related bias within the community. Despite these drawbacks, the parents in this review are reportedly happy with their living situation and appreciate the convenience of being located downtown in Redmond, which provides access to various activities and amenities.

Considering the platform category of "RV parks near me," Friendly Village, as a 55+ mobile home park, may offer long-term RV living options for seniors seeking a community tailored to their age group. The park-like setting and potential amenities could be attractive to RVers looking for a more স্থায়ী location. However, potential RV residents should also be mindful of the reported exclusionary attitudes and management practices, as these could affect their experience as well.

In summary, Friendly Village in Redmond, WA, presents a mixed profile. On the one hand, it offers a potentially attractive physical environment with a park-like setting and various amenities, as well as a convenient location in downtown Redmond. On the other hand, there are serious allegations of racism, ageism, exclusionary behavior among some residents, and questionable management practices, including alleged misrepresentation of community rules and a lack of responsiveness to complaints. The fact that the community is reportedly run by a government organization (KCHA) adds another layer to consider regarding accountability and resident rights.

For local users searching for a 55+ mobile home or potentially long-term RV community in Redmond, Friendly Village at 18425 NE 95th St warrants careful consideration. It is essential to weigh the positive aspects of the physical environment and location against the significant negative experiences reported by visitors and the concerns raised about the community's social climate and management. Prospective residents are strongly advised to conduct thorough due diligence, including visiting the community, speaking with current residents (if possible), and directly addressing the reported concerns with the management before making a decision.
