Green River Gorge Resort

Amazing! This is a hike at your own risk type of place. It is absolutely beautiful and completely representative of the PNW. This is the entrance to the gorge area and it is private property, not a state park so you do pay $5 per person(totally worth it). I will have to come back on a hot summer day to swim but our experience was magical, arrived at 9:30AM paid the fee at the entrance and walked in, we had the place to ourselves, there’s no map or directions so it was the most beautiful, serene gorge adventure I’ve been to. Unfortunately there’s graffiti on the rocks and trash all over the place(there were boxers on a tree, cigarettes, broken glass, etc). Hopefully we become more conscious and pack out whatever we brought in. I hope you get to enjoy this beautiful place as much as we did. - Lorena S

Green River Gorge Resort Introduce

Are you a local resident in the Enumclaw, Washington area seeking "RV parks near me" that offer more than just a place to park your RV? Green River Gorge Resort, located at 29500 SE Green River Gorge Rd, Enumclaw, WA 98022, USA, presents a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the stunning natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest, offering recreational activities such as hiking and cliff diving within a privately owned gorge area. While primarily known for its access to the gorge, it's important for local users seeking RV accommodations to understand the nature of this "resort" as described by visitors.

Based on customer reviews, Green River Gorge Resort is less of a traditional RV park with extensive amenities and more of a gateway to an adventurous natural attraction. Visitors consistently highlight the "absolutely beautiful" and "completely representative of the PNW" environment. The resort serves as the entrance to the Green River Gorge area, which is private property and not a state park. As such, there is an entry fee of $5 per person, which visitors generally consider "totally worth it" for the experience.

The primary draw of Green River Gorge Resort appears to be the natural environment and the opportunities for outdoor recreation. One reviewer described a "magical" experience arriving early in the morning and having the place to themselves. The absence of a map or formal directions contributed to a sense of serene adventure and exploration of the gorge. The landscape itself is characterized by its beauty and tranquility, offering a respite from more crowded or regulated natural areas.

For those seeking more adrenaline-pumping activities, another reviewer enthusiastically described the gorge as "awesome" with "lots of hangout spots, caves, viewpoints, a couple of trails, and MOST IMPORTANT good cliff diving and jump spots anywhere from 10’ to 30’ to 60/70’." The water in the gorge originates from Mount Rainier, making it notably cold but, according to the reviewer, "100% worth the jumps." This highlights a significant feature for adventurous local users looking for thrilling outdoor experiences close to Seattle, Redmond, and Bellevue without a long drive.

The reviewers also mention the operators of the resort as being "nice" and providing "good instructions" upon entry. This suggests a friendly and helpful point of contact at the entrance where the fee is collected. The area is also noted for offering "a lot of good views without too much hiking or elevation gain," making it accessible to a range of fitness levels for those interested in scenic overlooks without strenuous activity.

However, alongside the praise for its natural beauty and recreational opportunities, there are also significant concerns raised by visitors regarding the environment. One reviewer expressed disappointment over the presence of "graffiti on the rocks and trash all over the place," including specific examples like "boxers on a tree, cigarettes, broken glass, etc." This indicates a serious issue with littering and vandalism that detracts from the natural beauty of the gorge. The reviewer earnestly hoped for greater environmental consciousness among visitors to "pack out whatever we brought in" to preserve the area.

Another crucial piece of information for potential visitors is the lack of cell service within the gorge area. This is an important safety consideration, particularly given the "hike at your own risk type of place" nature mentioned by one reviewer. The absence of cell service underscores the need for caution and self-reliance when exploring the gorge.

Considering the platform category of "RV parks near me," it is important to note that the reviews primarily focus on the gorge itself and the recreational activities it offers, rather than on traditional RV park amenities. There is no mention of RV hookups, designated camping areas, restrooms, showers, or other facilities typically associated with an RV park. Therefore, local users seeking standard RV park accommodations with amenities for overnight stays or longer trips may need to look elsewhere in the Enumclaw area. Green River Gorge Resort appears to function primarily as an access point to a natural recreation area that charges a day-use fee.

The "resort" aspect of the name might be misleading if one is expecting a full-service RV park. It seems to refer to the property that grants access to the gorge. Local users with RVs might find this location appealing as a day trip destination for hiking, sightseeing, and potentially cliff diving (at their own risk), but it may not offer the facilities needed for overnight RV stays.

Promotional information is not provided in the reviews. There is no mention of special rates, seasonal passes, or any offers related to RV parking or overnight stays. The only cost mentioned is the $5 per person entry fee to access the gorge area.

In conclusion, for local residents in the Enumclaw, Washington area searching for "RV parks near me," Green River Gorge Resort is more accurately described as a privately owned natural recreation area offering stunning scenery, hiking trails, and cliff diving opportunities. It is crucial to be aware of the $5 per person entry fee and the "hike at your own risk" nature of the gorge. While the beauty of the PNW is on full display, the presence of graffiti and litter is a significant concern. The lack of cell service within the gorge is also an important safety consideration. While it may not function as a traditional RV park with overnight accommodations and amenities, it could be a fantastic destination for a day trip to experience the natural wonders near Enumclaw. Local users interested in exploring the gorge should be prepared for a rugged, self-guided experience and are strongly encouraged to practice responsible environmental stewardship by packing out all trash. Contacting the phone number provided (360) 886-7997 or +1 360-886-7997 might provide more information about any potential RV parking options or specific guidelines for visitors to the gorge area.
