Jellystone Park™ Mammoth Cave Introduce
If you're searching for "RV parks near me" in Kentucky that offer a memorable and engaging experience, particularly for families, Jellystone Park™ Mammoth Cave, located at 950 Mammoth Cave Rd, Cave City, KY 42127, USA, is an excellent option to consider. You can reach them at (270) 773-3840 or +1 270-773-3840. This campground is part of the renowned Jellystone Park™ franchise, known for its family-oriented atmosphere and a wide array of activities and amenities designed to entertain guests of all ages.
When browsing through "RV parks near me," families often prioritize locations that provide more than just a place to park their RV. They look for destinations that offer activities and facilities to keep children engaged and create lasting memories. Jellystone Park™ Mammoth Cave appears to cater directly to this need, as highlighted in the customer reviews. One visitor specifically mentioned the abundance of activities for kids and the presence of playgrounds suitable for various age groups. This suggests that the park is designed with family entertainment in mind, making it a strong contender for those traveling with children.
Beyond RV sites, Jellystone Park™ Mammoth Cave also offers other accommodation options, such as cabins. One reviewer who stayed in a cabin noted that while cleanliness upon check-in could have been better, the cabin was overall comfortable. This indicates that the park provides a range of lodging choices to suit different preferences and needs. The reviewer also positively mentioned the kindness and helpfulness of the staff, which is a crucial aspect of any hospitality experience, contributing to a welcoming and supportive environment for guests.
A significant advantage, as pointed out by a reviewer, is the sheer number of family-friendly activities available at the campground. Even during the shoulder season, before the peak camping period, there were ample things to do. The presence of a dedicated play area featuring a playground, cornhole, horseshoes, pedal karts, and, notably, jumping pillows, was a major highlight. The jumping pillows, in particular, seemed to be a favorite among children, suggesting a unique and enjoyable amenity that sets this park apart from more basic "RV parks near me."
The practical aspects of the stay also received positive feedback. The check-in process was described as easy, and the directions provided to the campsite were clear and helpful. Additionally, the presence of a camp store offers convenience for guests who may need to purchase essentials or souvenirs. This on-site amenity can be particularly valuable, as one reviewer advised bringing necessary supplies, noting that the nearest grocery store is located in Horse Cave, requiring a drive.
However, one notable critique mentioned by a visitor concerned the unevenness of the terrain within the park. They reported that their tent pad was slanted, the picnic table at their campsite was significantly tilted, and even the benches at the playground were not level. While this issue did not detract significantly from their overall positive experience, it's a factor that potential visitors, especially those in tents or relying on level surfaces for cooking and other activities, might want to be aware of.
Considering the "RV parks near me" platform category, Jellystone Park™ Mammoth Cave offers a compelling package for RV travelers, especially families. The combination of RV sites with amenities, diverse recreational activities, and a family-oriented theme aligns well with the desires of those seeking a fun and engaging camping experience. The positive reviews regarding staff and the abundance of activities suggest a well-managed park focused on guest satisfaction.

Jellystone Park™ Mammoth Cave Reviews
We enjoyed our stay. There were lots of activities for kids and playgrounds for all ages. Our cabin could have been cleaner upon check in but was overall comfortable. We would stay again despite the small inconvenience. The staff were all kind and helpful. Be advised to bring anything you need or you will be driving to horse cave to go to a grocery store.
Mar 23, 2025 · Lauren NalliaThis was a great, family-friendly campground! There were so many things for us to do with our kid, even though we visited before the main camping season began! There's an entire play area with a playground, cornhole, horseshoes, pedal karts, and JUMPING PILLOWS! I think if my kid had her way, the entire vacation would have been jumping pillows. The check-in was easy, finding our spot was great given the directions the desk gave us, and the camp store was fun to browse. The only critique I have is that nothing in the park was level. Our tent pad? Slanted. Our table at the campsite? Horribly slanted so our $5/dozen eggs were hard to cook without losing them. Bench at the playground? Slanted.Overall, we're very happy we stayed at Jellystone Park Mammoth Cave!
Mar 25, 2025 · Bonnie MulliganI stayed here during spring break so there wasn't a lot of people staying around me. Very quiet, the grounds and bathrooms are clean. I had an issue with low water pressure so I called the front desk and within about 20 minutes it was fixed. There are several things for kids to do. Other than the large playground there is several smaller ones, so there's several things to do. Very close to dino world and about 15 minutes from Mammouth Cave.
Mar 28, 2025 · Chris CrabtreeWe stayed in Cumberland cabin #39. It was our first time at a Jellystone cabin & for the life of me I couldn't find enough info on what to bring, so hope this review helps someone like me! Overall, I would recommend & will be returning 😀Our cabin had a queen bed in a separate room, 2 full sized bed mats in the loft area, and a full-sized pull out couch. All beds had pillows. Bathroom was tiny with a stand in shower. Kitchen was stocked with plates, bowls, silverware, cheap Teflon pots/pans & cooking utensils, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, full fridge. We had to bring our own bedding, linens, towels, etc. Central air worked great. Outside had 2 rocking chairs, bench that converted to a half picnic table, a full picnic table, fire pit ring, and a open grate grill. Parking for 1-2 cars. The only downside was a TON of ants in out kitchenette near the sink - bring extra ziplocks or Tupperware to keep food in. I also thought there was a lot of dust and cobwebs that could have been tended to. Otherwise, it was really clean and comfy. The park has a lot of amenities - multiple playgrounds, free 18 hole mini golf (needs a little love but not horrible & still fun), rec center (with free and paid arts & crafting activities), lots of appearances of Yogi & Cindy bear, 2 pools & a lake (not open when we were there - too early in spring), fishing ponds, peddle karts, jumpy pillows, bags & horseshoes, arcade, on-site laundry ($2 wash, $1.50 dryers), and more. Staff was super friendly. All other guests were respectful and nice. Great family spot with good mix of camp site options (tent, RV, cabin styles etc).Location was nice - close to Mammoth Cave and other local caves. Stores & Walmart 15 min away, ok places to eat but nothing fancy. The ice cream place nearby was good. We took a day trip to Nashville. Lots to do.. check it out!
Mar 28, 2025 · Helen DuddyThis was our second Jellystone Experience and we found the service at this particular franchise much better than at our initial experience. The location is fantastic as it is very close to many of the areas attractions. The park was well kept and the grounds were policed. I saw no litter anywhere and all the firepit were clean and free of debris. The bathouses were always clean and pleasant. Leveling our RV was a breeze but we did opt for the premium, paved site. The playground, especially the jumping pillow, were a highlight for my girls. The reason for 4 instead of 5 stars? Twofold, one of which - maybe - can't be helped. The first is that the camp ground seemed haphazardly put together. It almost felt as if the campground had been something else in the past and then Jellystone bought it and simply built a new office, ranger station thing, and then slapped "Jellystone" over the old stuff. The playground and surrounding areas seem new and shiny, while the pavillion and some other places don't. There wasn't a cohesive branding and vibe like at the other Jellystone we stayed.Lastly, and this is the bit that can't be helped, I suppose, was that we stayed in mid April for Spring Break and apparently that is still considered "out of season" for the area. While the gift shop was open, you couldn't enter through the doors, you had to go through the ranger station and then someone from the desk would come over to check you out. Skeleton crew, I suppose. Also, the restaurant wasn't open. You could order pizza, but that was it. Kids activities only began after noon and ended at 4. Nothing on the website prepared us for that. I get it....less campers means less revenue which means reduced programming. It just felt like we were camping in an abandoned business. Sad, but it couldn't have been helped. All that being said, we plan on revisiting Mammoth Cave and we absolutely plan on staying here again when we return.
