Karstens RV Resort Introduce
When searching for "RV parks near me" in the vibrant College Station, Texas area, Karstens RV Resort, located at 6685 Elmo Weedon Rd Ste. J11, College Station, TX 77845, USA, presents an interesting option with a mix of social engagement and specific reservation policies. Based on recent customer reviews, prospective visitors can expect a potentially lively atmosphere and certain requirements for booking.
One reviewer who visited on a Wednesday night had a very positive experience, highlighting the "MUCH fun" they had participating in beginning music bingo. This suggests that Karstens RV Resort offers social activities that can enhance the stay for those looking for entertainment and interaction with other guests. The reviewer also praised the "impeccable" service they received while enjoying two beers, one of which was a "fruity mix" they particularly loved. This indicates a focus on providing a pleasant and enjoyable experience for visitors, possibly with on-site beverage options.
The outdoor environment of Karstens RV Resort also received positive remarks. The reviewer described it as "inviting with lights, fire pits, picnic tables," suggesting well-maintained and comfortable outdoor spaces for relaxation and socializing. The fact that the resort is "set back off the major thoroughfare" implies a potentially quieter and more secluded setting, away from the noise of heavy traffic, which can be a significant advantage for those seeking a peaceful retreat within the "RV parks near me" category.
The mention of pizza being "really good" by a friend suggests that Karstens RV Resort may offer on-site food options, which can add convenience and enjoyment to a stay. This is a feature that some RV travelers actively seek when looking for "RV parks near me," as it reduces the need to travel off-site for meals.
However, not all feedback is entirely positive, particularly concerning the reservation process. One potential guest encountered a significant hurdle when attempting to book a three-day stay over the phone. They noted the absence of online booking, which they felt should have been a "first clue" indicating potential difficulties. During the phone call, the prospective guest reported being "interrogated" and asked to send pictures of their camper because it was more than 10 years old. While they understood the need for this requirement, they found the person on the phone to be excessively talkative about it, eventually having to interrupt to ask where to send the pictures.
The difficulty in reaching the resort by phone after the initial contact also raises concerns about their communication and responsiveness. The prospective guest reported calling multiple times later that evening and throughout the following day without receiving an answer. This lack of communication ultimately led them to book elsewhere, suggesting that the reservation process at Karstens RV Resort may be cumbersome or unreliable for some potential visitors.
The reviewer who experienced the challenging reservation process ultimately chose another RV park in the area, Aggieland RV park, where they were able to make reservations and pay online without any "rambling interrogation" or hassle. This comparison highlights the importance of a smooth and efficient booking system for travelers searching for "RV parks near me."
Based on these reviews, Karstens RV Resort appears to offer a fun and inviting social atmosphere with appealing outdoor amenities and potentially on-site food and beverage options. However, prospective visitors should be prepared for a potentially unconventional reservation process that may involve a phone call and specific requirements regarding the age and appearance of their RV. The lack of online booking could also be an inconvenience for some travelers.

B52 Review - Inaccurately postedVisiting the area and it was a Wednesday night, so MUCH fun. They were playing beginning music bingo. Service is impeccable. We had two beers - #15 and I had #16 which was a fruity mix. I loved it. The outdoors is inviting with lights, fire pits, picnic tables and the place is set back off the major thoroughfare. Festive and fun.Next time, we will order the pizza. My friend said it is really good.
Mar 23, 2025 · Lisa AnglinNo online booking. Should have been my first clue.Wednesday October 9th, 2:51 PM, called to make 3 day reservation arriving on Friday, was interrogated on the phone and told I need to send pictures of my camper because it is more than 10 years old. I can understand that. Person on the phone rambled on and on about the needing the picture so much I had to cut her off to ask where to send it.Got home that evening at 5:50 to take pictures, called at 5:59, who would have guessed.. no answer. 7:04… still no answer. Thursday, no answer. Friday, no answer.Maybe they didn’t like my camper?Maybe their phone stopped working lolIt’s all good though as I type this one star review from the comfortable, conveniently located, personally 5 star rated Aggieland RV park that I made reservations and paid for online, without a rambling interrogation, without hassle and I don’t care if their phone works…
Oct 12, 2024 · King WilliamWe were there for a month and moved to a nicer spot.Pros:Pool area was clean and mail service is a plus.Cons:Park rules aren’t upheld by owners. For example, the trailer across from us had a dog outside 24/7 in its kennel which is explicitly against the rules.Sites are tight with little space between the next camper.Cable is “included” but we never got it to work and that’s with both testing wiring and hooking cable up through the door. Talked to neighbors and they all had the same issue with this, however front office says nobody has complained about it.Probably 90% of the guests are very obvious full-timers with the way they’ve built up their sites. A bit junky.Washers and dryers don’t work well and eat your quarters.
Oct 23, 2023 · Taylor WNice, newer very clean campground. Cement pads for your trailer and tow vehicle. 30/50 amp electrical, water and sewer connections at each spot. Very clean relaxing pool. Clean and spacious bathrooms and seperate showers. There's also a nice big dog park at the front of the property. The owners/managers are very nice. A real country setting - surrounded by cows and fields but close to Veterans Park, the A&M campus, shopping, restaurants, churches, gas stations and liquor store. The only negative is the lack of trees and shade. One other "negative" - being so close to the A&M campus, the campground is packed with Aggie fans on home game weekends, you most likely won't get a spot on home game weekends without planning well in advance.
Oct 06, 2019 · Rob Nelson (2TexansTrading)Very clean and nice park. Great paved roads and sites including dedicated site parking. Nice restroom and shower facilities. As others have said, sites are fairly close together so hard to put out chairs or extend awnings. Also utilities are awkwardly placed in my opinion. I had to run 2 hoses to connect my water and an extension on my power cord to get the power pedestal. Camped in a 38 ft fifth wheel. All that said, we would camp here again.
