Kit Carson RV Park Introduce
For local users seeking "RV parks near me" in the Flagstaff, Arizona area, Kit Carson RV Park, located at 2101 W Rte 66, Flagstaff, AZ 86001, USA, presents itself as an option with a notable location along the historic Route 66. To provide a detailed and objective introduction, it's crucial to consider the available information, primarily derived from recent customer reviews, to understand the environment, services, and features of this RV park.
One of the frequently mentioned aspects of Kit Carson RV Park is its location. Situated directly off Route 66, it offers convenient access for travelers and potentially easy navigation to and from the park. This could be a significant advantage for those looking for an "RV park near me" that is easily accessible from a major thoroughfare. The presence of "big pine trees" is also noted in a review, suggesting a natural environment with shade, which can be particularly appealing during the warmer months in Arizona.
However, the customer reviews also highlight several significant drawbacks that potential visitors should be aware of. One reviewer expressed strong dissatisfaction, stating they would "NEVER stay here again" regardless of their level of desperation. This strong sentiment is based on multiple negative experiences. The reviewer specifically mentions "poorly managed" roads within the park, suggesting potential issues with driving and maneuvering RVs on the property. This is a crucial factor for RV owners to consider, as ease of navigation and site access are paramount.
Another major concern raised is the condition of the laundry facilities. The reviewer describes them as smelling "like urine" and frequently being out of order, with the functionality being less than half the time. For travelers, especially those on longer journeys, clean and reliable laundry facilities are often a necessity. The negative feedback on this aspect could be a significant deterrent for those seeking a comfortable and convenient "RV park near me."
Furthermore, the value proposition of Kit Carson RV Park is questioned in the reviews. The high price is juxtaposed with a perceived lack of amenities or perks. The reviewer states there are "ZERO amenities or perks" for the "outrageous price" charged. This suggests that the park may not offer common RV park amenities such as a pool, recreational areas, a community room, or organized activities. For local users comparing "RV parks near me," the absence of amenities coupled with a high price point could make other options more appealing.
The environment of the park is also described negatively by one reviewer as a "giant dust bowl" and "all around just dirty." While another reviewer mentioned it being "very dusty," they also noted that the "bathroom and showers are clean but very small." This discrepancy highlights the importance of considering multiple perspectives, but the recurring theme of dustiness is something potential visitors should be prepared for. The small size of the bathroom and shower facilities might also be a concern for some RV travelers, especially those accustomed to more spacious amenities.
The experience with the new park manager is also a point of criticism in one review, with the manager being described as "less than a pleasure to deal with." This aspect of customer service and management can significantly impact a guest's overall experience. Poor communication and inflexible policies, as described in the review regarding the checkout process and the requirement to personally rake and bag pine needles, can lead to considerable frustration.
The specific incident detailed in the review regarding the end of the contract and the checkout procedure raises concerns about the park's communication and management practices. The lack of proactive communication about checkout procedures, followed by a demand to personally clean the RV site to a specific standard under the threat of additional charges, paints a picture of potentially unreasonable expectations and poor guest relations. The provision of only two complimentary garbage bags for a significant cleanup task was perceived as unhelpful and further contributed to the negative experience.
Another reviewer noted that the "sites are not very leveled." This is a practical concern for RV owners, as unlevel sites can make it difficult to properly set up and operate an RV, affecting the functionality of appliances and overall comfort. The combination of bumpy roads and unlevel sites suggests that navigating and setting up within the park might be challenging.
Considering these objective observations based on recent customer feedback, local users searching for "RV parks near me" should carefully weigh the pros and cons of Kit Carson RV Park. The location off Route 66 and the presence of large pine trees might be appealing to some. However, the reported issues with poorly managed roads, unclean and malfunctioning laundry facilities, a perceived lack of amenities for the price, dustiness, small bathroom and shower facilities, and negative experiences with the park management are significant factors that could detract from a pleasant stay.
There is no promotional information available in the provided text. Therefore, any decision to consider Kit Carson RV Park should be based on an individual's tolerance for the reported drawbacks and a comparison with other "RV parks near me" in the Flagstaff area. It would be prudent to contact Kit Carson RV Park directly at (928) 774-6993 or +1 928-774-6993 to inquire about the current conditions, amenities, and policies, and to potentially seek clarification on the issues raised in the reviews. Visiting the park in person, if feasible, could also provide a firsthand assessment of the environment and facilities.
In conclusion, while Kit Carson RV Park benefits from a convenient location on Route 66 and offers a natural setting with pine trees, potential guests should be aware of the significant negative feedback regarding the park's infrastructure, amenities, cleanliness, management, and value for money. Local users searching for "RV parks near me" are advised to thoroughly research and compare multiple options in the Flagstaff area to ensure they choose a park that meets their needs and expectations for a comfortable and enjoyable RV experience.

Kit Carson RV Park Reviews
I don’t care how desperate I am, I will NEVER stay here again. The roads are so poorly managed. The laundry facilities all smell like urine and don’t work half the time. For the outrageous price you have to pay, there are ZERO amenities or perks. It’s a giant dust bowl and all around just dirty. The new park manager is less than a pleasure to deal with. When my contract was up, it was never communicated to us that we had to come into the office to tell them we were checking out. Wouldn’t it be common sense that when my contract ended was the day I was leaving? I was given zero instructions as to what needed to be done and was then called to be told I had to come and rake my lot of pine needles and pine cones. Then I had to bag it all by myself. But don’t worry, they really helped me out by giving me 2 complimentary garbage bags. How generous. If the lot wasn’t raked how they saw fit, I was to be charged the daily rate until it was cleaned. I hate this place more than I can even explain. I will never ever recommend to anyone.
Oct 18, 2024 · Kaitlin JamesGreat location off Rt-66. Very dusty. Bathroom and showers are clean but very small. Big pine trees. Bumpy roads inside. Sites are not very leveled.
Aug 18, 2024 · Sachin JhaThis was simultaneously the worst and most expensive RV park on our 3000 mile tour of the southwest. The office was located away from the facility and we didn’t get to be greeted by anybody. You have to sign in with all your information and agree legally to all sorts of things long before you even see the place. The bathroom was small and cramped and had no hot water. our site was dusty and noisy and heavy equipment came by the road with lots of potholes. I don’t recommend this facility to anyone
Apr 19, 2024 · mary ann ewaldStayed here before and made reservations again. Not much going for it any longer. Arrived and office had relocated a couple minutes away. Didn't tell us that when we called to confirm our reservation. Asked for more paperwork than any place we have ever stayed. Asked where to get propane and was told a place that doesn't sell it. Really incompetent staff. The campground was just okay but overpriced with hardly any amenities.
May 16, 2024 · Lou Anne CarlsonThe park roads and sites are nothing but mud. On the best days they are full of rutts that will destroy your vehicle, even at the posted 5mph limit and on the worst days are a sludge of mess that will have your tires spinning to make it to your site. The permanent dwellers have left the park so disgustingly over run with junk, trash, and general disrepair that the majesty nature that one might expect is ruined by the eyesore these rejects have strewn about. Dilapidated rvs porches fences and carports are the norm yet they still have the audacity to ask you to clean up the pine needles that fall on your site. The service is lack luster and you can expect to not have your call answered or even returned for days and days. The ponderosa that full the park are gorgeous but it's hard to enjoy with the state of the park. Avoid if possible.
