La Porte Village Introduce
For local residents exploring "rv parks near me" as a potential long-term living solution or those considering mobile home options in the La Porte, Indiana area, La Porte Village, located at 1083 IN-2, La Porte, IN 46350, USA, presents a community to consider. While the platform category suggests RV parks, the provided information identifies La Porte Village as a mobile home park. This introduction aims to offer an objective overview based on the limited details available, including contact information and a recent customer review, to help local users form an initial understanding of this community.
Environment and Location:
La Porte Village is situated in La Porte, Indiana. The surrounding environment is likely to be typical of northern Indiana, potentially featuring a mix of residential areas, commercial establishments, and natural landscapes. La Porte County is known for its proximity to Lake Michigan and various smaller lakes and parks, offering recreational opportunities. The specific environment within La Porte Village itself is not detailed, but it would typically consist of residential lots designed to accommodate mobile homes and possibly RVs, along with communal areas such as roadways and potentially green spaces. Its location on IN-2 suggests accessibility to local amenities and transportation routes within La Porte.
Services and Amenities (Inferred from Mobile Home Park Nature):
As La Porte Village is identified as a mobile home park, the services and amenities offered would likely cater to more long-term residents compared to a transient RV park. These might include:
- Individual utility hookups at each lot: This would typically include connections for electricity, water, and sewer.
- Roadways and internal infrastructure: Paved or gravel roads for access to each lot.
- Trash disposal services: Provisions for residents to dispose of household waste.
- Management office: For community administration and resident support.
- Common areas: These could potentially include green spaces, a community building, or laundry facilities, although this is not specified.
Given the nature of a mobile home park, it's less likely to offer short-term RV amenities such as dedicated recreational vehicle sites with pull-through access, extensive recreational facilities (like swimming pools or clubhouses), or daily/weekly rates typically associated with RV parks catering to travelers. Local users specifically seeking short-term RV parking might need to inquire directly about the park's policies on RVs or explore other facilities in the "rv parks near me" category.
Features and Potential for Local Users:
For local individuals or families seeking a more permanent or semi-permanent living situation in the La Porte area, La Porte Village might offer a community setting with the potential for affordable housing compared to traditional homeownership. The features would primarily revolve around the infrastructure supporting mobile homes, providing a base for residents to establish their living spaces. The sense of community can be a significant feature in mobile home parks, offering opportunities for social interaction among residents.
The provided phone numbers, (219) 325-0240 and +1 219-325-0240, serve as direct contact points for local users to inquire about residency options, lot availability, and specific services offered at La Porte Village. This direct line of communication is a key feature for those interested in learning more.
Important Considerations Based on User Reviews:
The single, detailed customer review presents a serious concern regarding the management practices at La Porte Village, specifically involving an individual named Jackie. The reviewer alleges dishonesty and financial mismanagement during an attempt to purchase a mobile home. Key points from the review include:
- Allegation of a $1,000 deposit taken under unclear terms (non-refundable not stated).
- Disagreement over undisclosed taxes ($4,200) on a unit advertised for $2,000.
- Accusations of the manager providing misleading information and acting unprofessionally when the deposit was requested back.
- The reviewer's distress over the financial loss and the perceived impact on their family.
This review paints a negative picture of the management and business practices at La Porte Village, highlighting potential risks for individuals looking to conduct transactions or reside there. While it is a single account, local users should consider this feedback seriously and exercise caution when interacting with the management.
It is also important to note a brief, contrasting statement: "Good people there help us out when we need it." This suggests that some residents may have positive experiences within the community, possibly separate from the management issues raised in the more detailed review. However, the lack of context makes it difficult to fully assess the nature and scope of this positive sentiment.
Promotional Information (Limited and Cautionary):
Given the serious negative review, it is challenging to present standard promotional information for La Porte Village based solely on the provided data. Objectively, the park offers a location in La Porte, IN, and contact information is available for inquiries. For local users seeking potential long-term and potentially more affordable housing options within a community setting, La Porte Village exists as a possibility. However, the strong negative feedback regarding management practices necessitates extreme caution. Any potential promotional aspect is significantly overshadowed by the alleged dishonesty and financial mishandling described in the review.
Local users considering La Porte Village should prioritize thorough due diligence. This should include:
- Directly contacting the management to inquire about current policies, fees, and procedures.
- Visiting the property to assess the environment and meet current residents (if possible) to gather diverse perspectives.
- Carefully reviewing all agreements and contracts before committing to any financial transactions.
- Seeking independent legal or financial advice if significant sums of money are involved.
Conclusion:
La Porte Village in La Porte, IN, is a mobile home park that may cater to local residents seeking long-term housing solutions within a community environment. While it falls under the broader search category of "rv parks near me" for users potentially considering RV living as well, its primary function appears to be a mobile home park. The provided contact information allows for direct inquiries. However, a significant customer review raises serious allegations of dishonest management practices and financial mishandling, which should be a major consideration for any local user contemplating residency or transactions at La Porte Village. While a brief positive comment suggests some positive aspects within the community, the detailed negative review warrants thorough investigation and caution before making any commitments.

La Porte Village Reviews
Even one star is not even okay for this place The manager's name is Jackie and she is very dishonest human. She does everything she can to lie and get whatever she wants and can she stole $1,000 from me when I was trying to purchase a mobile home to put onto my land so that we could build over the winter. She had a listing that I answered that stated there was a trailer in her mobile home park that was full of stuff and it was 2000 and it was ours. I showed up and she said well there are taxes but I don't know what they are I will find those out and so to start the process I gave a deposit of $1,000 because we were going to purchase this unit. She never once stated it was non-refundable she never once stated that her mobile home park was being purchased by another mobile home owner. She made me make the check out to her first and last name and had the cashiers check given to her. She stated she was putting it into the petty cash and that it would go to the owners. I have a purchase agreement that basically states we were putting the money down on the unit It does not state it is non-refundable and when we ask for our $1,000 back because we didn't want to purchase any units from them after the dishonesty we had to deal with she has proceeded to argue with me hang up on me and tell me she's going to try to get my 1,000 or at least some of my 1,000 back to me and my family. I have asked for my money back because on the unit she posted for 2000 she did not disclose that there were taxes due of 4200 on that specific unit. We were thinking about buying a different unit from their location but as a whole our family does not feel comfortable since this wasn't disclosed and she had posted for this unit without having that information before posting. She of course states that it was my due diligence need to find the taxes out for the unit before I bought it but I did not have all of that information until after I had $1,000 to hand over to her. All I was trying to do was purchase a unit and have it moved off of their property onto my property. I I'm feeling extremely taken advantage of We are not made of money We have literally starved ourselves to get to the point that we are at right now and that $1,000 is literally taking away from my children.

Jan 09, 2025 · Amber MillerSo poorly managed and won’t even warn you before charging you for anything. Very rude and treats residents like trash. Please consider this when you visit or live here.
Aug 25, 2024 · Kylee RothDon’t know much about this place besides that they should revamp their speed bumps before somebody’s vehicle gets damaged or messed up they have some really hard speed bumps and they need to be replaced or something different maybe should be done instead ??
Apr 16, 2024 · Tracy TobaltAwful place to live. Management is horrible, roads and driveways are a disaster, most trailers are run down and pests easily get in no matter the precautions used. Poor to no communication with management, they are very rude and unprofessional.
