Lake Conroe RV & Camping Resort Introduce
When searching for "RV parks near me" in the Lake Conroe, Texas area, Lake Conroe RV & Camping Resort, located at 11720 Thousand Trails Rd, Willis, TX 77318, USA, is one option that may appear. However, recent feedback from actual customers paints a picture of a resort facing significant maintenance challenges, which potential visitors should carefully consider.
Several reviewers have expressed considerable dissatisfaction with the maintenance and upkeep of Lake Conroe RV & Camping Resort. One particularly concerning account details a power outage experienced by the guest, where maintenance personnel reportedly stated that they were unable to address the issue promptly, citing a need for a certified electrician who would only be called when at least six power pedestals were broken. The reviewer claimed to have identified eight malfunctioning pedestals but was still advised to move sites instead of having the electrical problem fixed. This led to the cancellation of the remainder of their reservation and a move to a different campground. This incident raises serious concerns about the reliability of essential utilities and the responsiveness of the maintenance services.
Further compounding these issues, the same reviewer reported that the laundry room was also out of service due to a power outage that the staff was reportedly unable to resolve. This lack of a functioning laundry facility can be a significant inconvenience, especially for longer-term guests or families. Additionally, the hot tub was described as being "closed half the time because it's broken," indicating a recurring problem with this amenity. The swimming pool is also noted as being unheated, which may limit its usability during certain times of the year.
Recreational amenities at the resort also appear to be lacking. The mini-golf course is mentioned as having no available clubs or balls, rendering it unusable. Furthermore, concerns were raised about the general upkeep of the grounds, with reviewers noting that "the trees need to be trimmed and the roads are horrible." Poor road conditions can make navigating the park difficult, especially for larger RVs, and untrimmed trees can pose hazards to vehicles and campsites.
In contrast to the overwhelmingly negative feedback regarding maintenance and amenities, one reviewer offered a more neutral perspective, stating that "Park is nice." However, this positive sentiment is immediately followed by the confirmation that "the hot tub has been broken for the better part of a year and a half." This extended period of disrepair for a key amenity further underscores the maintenance issues highlighted by other guests. This reviewer did note that the staff at the "ranger station" were "nice" and that there were "a lot of courts for the kids," suggesting that some aspects of the resort, particularly the staff interaction and the presence of sports courts, may be positive.
Considering the balance of the feedback, it appears that while Lake Conroe RV & Camping Resort may offer a location on Lake Conroe and some recreational facilities like sports courts, the significant and persistent maintenance problems reported by multiple guests are a major concern. Potential visitors should be aware of the potential for unreliable utilities, non-functional or poorly maintained amenities, and general upkeep issues with the grounds.
The provided information does not include any details about specific services offered at the RV park beyond the mentioned maintenance, laundry facilities (when operational), hot tub, swimming pool, and mini-golf. It is reasonable to assume that standard RV hookups such as water, electricity, and sewer are available at the campsites, but their reliability, particularly the electrical service, has been called into question by at least one reviewer.
Similarly, there is no promotional information available in the provided reviews. Given the maintenance challenges reported, it is unlikely that the resort is currently running any special promotions. Potential guests would need to contact Lake Conroe RV & Camping Resort directly at (936) 856-7888 or +1 936-856-7888 to inquire about current rates, availability, and any ongoing offers, while also keeping in mind the recent negative experiences shared by other visitors.
In conclusion, while Lake Conroe RV & Camping Resort benefits from its location on Lake Conroe and may have some positive aspects such as friendly staff at the ranger station and sports courts for children, the recent reviews highlight significant and concerning maintenance issues. Potential guests searching for "RV parks near me" on Lake Conroe should carefully weigh these negative experiences regarding power outages, broken and non-operational amenities like the hot tub and laundry room, the unusable mini-golf, and the poor condition of the roads and grounds. It is recommended to seek further information and perhaps consider alternative RV parks in the area until the reported maintenance problems appear to have been adequately addressed.

Lake Conroe RV & Camping Resort Reviews
This campground needs a lot of work. Maintenance crews are unable to do anything to maintain the park. They always claim, "the city requires a certified person to do the work." Our power died while we were there last. Maintenance said I'd have to move. They won't call a certified electrician until they have 6 broken power pedestals. I told him they were in luck, there were 8 I counted earlier when walking the dog. He didn't care. We cancelled the rest of our reservation and went to a different campground. The laundry room was also closed because it had no power and, "they couldn't figure it out."Hot tub is closed half the time because it's broken. Swimming pool is not heated. Mini golf all the clubs and balls disappeared. The trees need to be trimmed and the roads are horrible.
Nov 21, 2024 · MullexwingPark is nice. The hot tub has been broken for the better part of a year and a half. Nice people at the ranger station though. A lot of courts for the kids.
Nov 26, 2024 · Mark MansfieldI enjoy this park a lot. Susan in the front office is very helpful whenever you ask her. The rangers are also great and very helpful. The park and pool are clean. The only knock I have is that some of the parking spots are not level so I had to manually level my RV because the Auto level was getting confused. The fact that it's not level also prevents my black and gray tanks from emptying completely. I have to walk the hoses to clear the remaining waste water out of the lines. In my opinion, they definitely need to level them and add concrete or gravel pads. The roads are also in terrible condition with some showing erosion from the rain. But the staff definitely goes out of their way to make you a satisfied customer.

Apr 28, 2025 · Subj3ctive** No Wifi at all - no paid options either **Our Fourth of July stay at Thousand Trails Lake Conroe was okay, but it had its ups and downs. The campground itself was decent, but we had a hard time finding a RV spot that wasn't already taken by annual members, since it is first come first serve and you are not assigned a space. Eventually, we settled on a site with no trees, which meant it was pretty hot during the day.One major disappointment was the lack of WiFi, despite it being advertised online. On the plus side, the lake and surrounding nature were nice, providing a relaxing atmosphere.Overall, Thousand Trails Lake Conroe has its charms, but be prepared to navigate around the quirks and confirm amenities before booking.
