Willis RV Park On Lake Conroe can be contacted at (832) 800-3787 or +1 832-800-3787. As you consider this park for your RV stay, it's essential to weigh the various experiences shared by fellow travelers to get a balanced perspective.
Environment and Location:
The name itself, "Willis RV Park On Lake Conroe," immediately suggests a key environmental feature: its location near Lake Conroe. One positive review explicitly mentions being able to "go sit on the lake," indicating that the park offers access to the recreational opportunities associated with the lake. This could be a significant draw for those who enjoy fishing, boating, or simply relaxing by the water.
However, another reviewer paints a less favorable picture of the park's overall condition, describing it as "extremely dirty, run down and very unkept." This stark contrast in perception highlights the importance of considering multiple viewpoints. If the park's upkeep is indeed lacking, it could detract significantly from the enjoyment of the lakeside location.
Despite the concerns about cleanliness and maintenance, the positive review notes a "very peaceful" atmosphere. This suggests that while the physical condition might be an issue for some, the park could still offer a tranquil environment, potentially appealing to those seeking a quiet retreat.
Services and Management:
Experiences with the park's management appear to be mixed. One reviewer reported a negative experience regarding billing practices, stating they were charged for two nights despite staying only one, and that this policy was not disclosed during the reservation process. Furthermore, this reviewer mentioned difficulties in contacting the office staff, stating, "Anytime we went to the office to talk with someone we had to call a number and wait for someone to get there." This lack of readily available on-site management could be inconvenient for residents and visitors.
Conversely, the same negative review offers a single point of praise, noting that "when we did talk to the manager she was very nice." This suggests that while accessibility might be an issue, interactions with the manager, when they occur, can be positive and helpful.
In stark contrast, a separate positive review explicitly mentions "Great management," indicating a significantly different experience with the park's leadership. This discrepancy underscores the potential for varied experiences or changes in management over time.
Features and Community:
Beyond the lakeside access, the positive review highlights a strong sense of community among residents, mentioning "Wonderful neighbors." This social aspect can greatly enhance the living experience in an RV park, fostering a sense of belonging and support.
The same reviewer also mentions social activities such as "potlucks and get together," further emphasizing the community spirit within the park. For those seeking a more interactive and social RV living experience, this could be a significant advantage.
Nature enthusiasts might appreciate the presence of wildlife, as the reviewer notes "lots of birds at the feeder - even ducks!" This suggests a natural environment that attracts local fauna, potentially adding to the peaceful and enjoyable atmosphere for residents.
Another important feature mentioned is the feeling of safety, with the reviewer stating, "I should also add that I feel very safe living here (thank you, David)." This indicates that security within the park is perceived positively by at least one resident, which is a crucial factor for long-term stays.
However, the negative review's description of the park as "run down and very unkept" implies a lack of investment in maintaining the park's facilities and infrastructure. Without more specific details, it's difficult to assess the extent of these issues, but potential visitors should be aware of this feedback.
Promotional Information and Local Context:
As a platform highlighting "RV parks near me," Willis RV Park On Lake Conroe's proximity to Lake Conroe is a significant promotional aspect. Lake Conroe is a popular destination for recreational activities, attracting visitors from the Houston metropolitan area and beyond. The RV park's location offers convenient access to the lake's amenities and attractions.
The positive review, while not explicitly promotional, serves as a strong endorsement of the community and management, suggesting a welcoming and enjoyable living environment for some residents. The mentions of peacefulness, friendly neighbors, community events, and a sense of safety can be compelling factors for potential long-term residents.
However, the negative review acts as a cautionary note, highlighting potential issues with billing practices, park maintenance, and office accessibility. Prospective visitors should consider these points and perhaps seek clarification or additional information before making a reservation.
Willis, Texas, offers a more suburban or rural setting compared to the heart of Houston, potentially appealing to those seeking a quieter lifestyle while still being within reasonable driving distance of city amenities. The lakeside location further enhances the appeal for those who enjoy outdoor recreation.
Conclusion:
Willis RV Park On Lake Conroe presents a mixed picture based on the available customer reviews. On the one hand, it boasts a desirable location with access to Lake Conroe, a peaceful atmosphere, a strong sense of community among some residents, and positive interactions with management for at least one reviewer. The feeling of safety is also a notable positive aspect.
On the other hand, there are significant concerns raised about the park's cleanliness and overall upkeep, potential issues with billing practices, and difficulties in contacting the office staff. These are crucial factors that prospective visitors should carefully consider.
For those searching for "RV parks near me" on Lake Conroe, Willis RV Park offers the allure of a lakeside experience. However, it is strongly recommended to seek more recent and diverse reviews to gain a broader understanding of the current conditions and management practices. Contacting the park directly to inquire about their policies, maintenance schedules, and office hours would also be a prudent step before making a reservation or committing to a longer stay. Weighing the potential benefits of the location and community against the reported drawbacks will be essential in making an informed decision.

Willis RV Park On Lake Conroe Reviews
First off they changed us for 2 nights when we only stayed 1. Said that was their policy but they never stated that when we made the reservation. Second, the park itself was extremely dirty, run down and very unkept. Anytime we went to the office to talk with someone we had to call a number and wait for someone to get there. We will NEVER go here again. The only positive note is that when we did talk to the manager she was very nice. The 1 star on this rating is for her interaction with us.
Apr 24, 2025 · Melody SchionSo happy here. Wonderful neighbors. Great management. Very peaceful. We have lots of birds at the feeder - even ducks! We also have potlucks and get together. Wouldn’t want to live anywhere else. So nice to be able to go sit on the lake. I should also add that I feel very safe living here (thank you, David).
Feb 21, 2022 · Suzanne CharboneauThe owner David is AMAZING (During recent weather freeze, he was out getting customers fixed up for water, while all the while he didn't have water at his home due to storm!! His FIRST PRIORITY is always customers comfort and 😊 He also has good support people helping him out on site. This is our second time staying here... and we keep extending our stay!! We are RIGHT on Lake Conroe and fish every day:)
Feb 22, 2021 · Stacey CollinsThis place is horrible and manager and owner are stealing money from people on their electric bill be aware. Keep looking in these reviews and you'll see other complaints with the same problem . The managers fema trailer is disgusting and she's supposed to represent that place and she does a good job lol. She should be ashamed of herself living like that so the owner should check into that if that's park is held to a high standard. Our power constantly cut in and out and kept tripping our breakers and for that price you would think it would be safer work properly. Place is a retirement home for weirdos so enjoy yalls stay . Don't waste time renting there it's weird and there very invasive and in everyone's business.....truly nosy people. Showers suck , washer and dryers suck and the place all around sucks so don't go!
Aug 04, 2024 · Corey SweeneyWas a terrible place, yes the lake was nice but people were really nosey and management is horrible. Way overcharged on electricity bill. We moved our camper for the hurricane for 10 days to return to an electricity bill that was more than the previous month in which we actually stayed the whole entire month , makes no sense which is why I feel the manager was pocketing some money. After the hurricane we were told to remove the tarp off our camper while we were waiting on fema very rudely by the manager which came from the owner . It's just a weird place and if you don't fit in then then it's almost like your forced out per manager.i don't recommend this place to anyone
