3.0
I have lived here ten years now (two different houses) and I like it here. People complain about management and lot rent prices but this is Florida, everywhere is going up. Of course, there is always room for improvement, there is opportunity to make this place even better but home is what you make of it. People are friendly, they watch out for each other and for they most part, it is a very enjoyable place to live. ~Signed, (honorary) Governor Shawn 😀 ~ - Shawn Smith

Lakewood Travel Park Introduce

Are you searching for "RV parks near me" in the Hudson, Florida area, or perhaps looking at long-term living options in a mobile home or travel park setting? Lakewood Travel Park, located at 11517 State Rd 52, Hudson, FL 34669, USA, presents a community that has elicited a range of experiences from those who have stayed or lived there. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview of the park based on the available customer reviews, highlighting its environment and the services and features as perceived by different individuals.

Lakewood Travel Park can be contacted directly at (727) 856-1306 or via their mobile number at +1 727-856-1306. Reaching out to them will provide the most current information regarding site availability for RVs and mobile homes, rates, specific amenities, and any community guidelines.

The customer reviews for Lakewood Travel Park offer contrasting perspectives, indicating a potentially diverse range of experiences for those who visit or reside there. One long-term resident, who states they have lived in the park for ten years across two different homes, expresses a generally positive sentiment. They mention liking the community, noting that "People are friendly, they watch out for each other and for they most part, it is a very enjoyable place to live." This highlights a significant positive aspect: a sense of community and neighborly support among some residents.

This long-term resident also acknowledges some common concerns in Florida, stating, "People complain about management and lot rent prices but this is Florida, everywhere is going up." While not explicitly endorsing the management or pricing, this comment provides context by suggesting that these issues might be reflective of broader trends in the region. The reviewer also expresses an optimistic outlook, stating, "there is always room for improvement, there is opportunity to make this place even better but home is what you make of it." This suggests a degree of personal agency in one's experience within the park.

In stark contrast, another reviewer recounts a very negative experience as an overnight guest. They describe Lakewood Travel Park as "Probably the worst, nastiest place I’ve ever stayed." This is a strong indictment, suggesting significant issues with the park from their perspective. Their dissatisfaction was so profound that they chose to leave early, stating, "Only stayed 1 night and we paid for 4 nights. I didn’t even ask for my money back." This indicates a level of discomfort or dissatisfaction that prompted them to forgo a refund simply to leave the premises.

This negative review provides specific examples of the problems encountered. They mention logistical issues with their RV setup: "Had 4 campers hooked to one water supply the sewer drain was over 1 foot tall and the power box was on the wrong side." These are significant practical challenges for RVers, indicating potentially inadequate or poorly planned site infrastructure. The shared water supply among multiple campers could lead to pressure issues, a raised sewer drain could create drainage problems, and an awkwardly placed power box could pose safety or convenience concerns.

Furthermore, this reviewer notes an unpleasant environmental factor: "And the smell of weeds was horrible." This suggests a potential lack of landscaping maintenance or the presence of undesirable vegetation that emits an offensive odor, impacting the overall comfort of the stay.

The reviewer concludes with a dismissive assessment of the park's overall condition, stating, "This place is just a rundown old trailer park." This suggests a perception of neglect and outdated facilities.

Considering these highly contrasting reviews, Lakewood Travel Park appears to be a community with a dichotomy of experiences. Long-term residents may find a sense of community and neighborly support, potentially overlooking or accepting some of the park's shortcomings. However, short-term visitors, particularly RVers, may encounter significant issues with site infrastructure and the overall environment.

For individuals specifically searching within the "RV parks near me" category, Lakewood Travel Park presents a mixed picture. The negative review raises serious concerns about the suitability of the park for RVs, citing specific problems with water, sewer, and power hookups, as well as an unpleasant smell and a generally rundown appearance. Potential RV guests should be particularly cautious and seek detailed information about the specific RV sites available, including the layout, hookup configurations, and the overall condition of the grounds.

Conversely, the positive review from a long-term resident does not directly address the RV facilities, focusing instead on the community aspect. This suggests that the park might cater more towards long-term mobile home residents, with RVs being a secondary or less well-maintained aspect of the facility.

For those considering long-term living in a mobile home or travel trailer at Lakewood Travel Park, the positive review highlights the friendly community and neighborly support as key benefits. However, the negative review's description of a "rundown old trailer park" might give pause, suggesting the need to assess the overall condition and upkeep of the park and its facilities. The long-term resident's acknowledgment of complaints about management and lot rent prices also warrants further investigation.

When contacting Lakewood Travel Park, prospective residents or RVers should inquire specifically about:

  • The availability and types of RV sites, including hookup details (water, electricity, sewer) and site dimensions.
  • The condition and maintenance of the RV sites and the overall grounds.
  • The layout and functionality of the water, sewer, and power infrastructure at the RV sites.
  • Any pest control measures in place to address issues like unpleasant smells from weeds.
  • The management's responsiveness to resident and guest concerns.
  • The current lot rent prices and any associated fees for long-term residents.
  • The community amenities available to residents and guests (e.g., laundry facilities, restrooms, showers, recreational areas).

The provided information does not include any details about specific promotional offers or unique features of Lakewood Travel Park. When contacting the park, it would be beneficial to inquire about any current specials for short-term RV stays or long-term residency.

In conclusion, Lakewood Travel Park in Hudson, FL, appears to be a community that evokes diverse reactions. While long-term residents may appreciate the friendly atmosphere and neighborly support, short-term RV visitors have reported significant issues with site infrastructure and the overall environment. Individuals searching for "RV parks near me" should exercise caution and seek detailed information about the RV facilities before booking a stay. Those considering long-term residency should weigh the reported sense of community against concerns about the park's condition and management, and conduct a thorough visit to assess whether Lakewood Travel Park meets their needs and expectations.
