Based on available information, Longhorn Mobile Home Park presents a somewhat complex picture for potential residents. It's crucial to weigh the provided details carefully to determine if this community aligns with your needs and expectations when searching for "RV parks near me" that offer long-term stays.
Location and Environment:
The park is situated within an industrial area, surrounded by warehouses. This location offers convenient access to industrial zones, which might be beneficial for individuals working in these sectors. However, it also means that residents may experience noise from nearby industrial activities at times. It's important to consider your tolerance for such environmental factors when evaluating "RV parks near me."
One significant environmental concern highlighted by residents is the park's susceptibility to flooding. The park is located on a downhill slope from the surrounding neighborhood, and the primary entrance and exit, as well as the entire park, are prone to flooding during heavy rainfall. This is a critical factor to consider, especially during Houston's rainy seasons, as it can impact accessibility and potentially cause damage to vehicles and property. Some residents have specifically mentioned their cars being flooded due to poor drainage, with ditches containing rocks and tall grass that impede water runoff.
Another aspect of the location is the presence of a large number of stray cats within the park. While some residents might not mind this, others with allergies or concerns about pet safety should take this into account.
Finally, the street names within the park are reportedly similar, leading to frequent issues with mail delivery. This could be an inconvenience for residents expecting regular mail service.
Services and Features:
Each lot at Longhorn Mobile Home Park includes its own driveway with space to accommodate two cars. While there is no street parking permitted, a designated guest parking area is available for daytime visitors. Overnight guests are required to obtain a pass after 10 PM. For residents with more than two vehicles, additional parking spaces can be rented on a month-to-month basis.
The rental agreements at Longhorn Mobile Home Park operate on a month-to-month basis, offering flexibility for residents who may not require a long-term lease. This could be appealing for those seeking short-term or uncertain living arrangements within the "RV parks near me" category.
For recreational activities, the park offers a basketball court and a field area located towards the back of the property. These amenities provide residents with opportunities for outdoor exercise and leisure.
While the park is described by one reviewer as "well kept" compared to other trailer parks, it's important to note that this is a subjective observation and may not reflect the experience of all residents.
Important Considerations and Potential Drawbacks:
Several concerns have been raised by residents that potential occupants should carefully consider when looking at "RV parks near me" and evaluating Longhorn Mobile Home Park:
- Flooding: As mentioned earlier, the significant issue of flooding, particularly during rain, is a major concern that can impact daily life and property safety.
- Security: The park's location in an industrial area has reportedly led to instances of car break-ins. Some residents feel that security measures are inadequate and have expressed concerns about increasing security charges without corresponding improvements.
- Management: Reviews indicate potential issues with management. One resident described the manager as rude and reported instances of being charged for parking within their rented lot and having a paid parking space given away without a refund. Another concern is the reported difficulty in contacting the owner to address management-related issues.
- Noise: Besides the potential noise from the surrounding industrial area, some residents have noted that the lots are close together, leading to noise from neighbors. This could be a concern for individuals seeking a quiet living environment.
- Parking Charges: The practice of charging a yearly fee for parking within a rented lot, in addition to the monthly rent, has been criticized by at least one resident.
Promotional Information:
While specific promotional offers are not available in the provided information, the month-to-month rental agreements could be seen as a form of flexibility that might appeal to some individuals seeking "RV parks near me" without long-term commitments. The presence of a basketball court and field area could also be considered a promotional point for those valuing on-site recreational facilities.
Conclusion:
Longhorn Mobile Home Park offers a residential option within Houston's "RV parks near me" category, providing month-to-month lot rentals and basic amenities like driveways, guest parking, a basketball court, and a field area. However, potential residents must carefully consider the significant drawbacks highlighted in the reviews, including the recurring issue of flooding, security concerns, reported management problems, the industrial surroundings, and noise from neighbors. It is highly recommended that prospective residents visit the park, speak with current occupants if possible, and thoroughly assess whether the environment and services meet their individual needs and expectations before making a decision.

Longhorn Mobile Home Park Reviews
The park is located on a downhill slope from neighborhood so anytime it rains the only entrance and exit to the park floods. When there is heavy rain the entire park floods. Each lot comes with its own driveway that fit 2 cars. There is no street parking allowed but they do have a designated guest parking area. Guest are allowed to park during the day but require an overnight pass after 10pm. Additional parking can be bought on a month to month basis if you have more than 2 vehicles. It’s month to month because the contract to live here is month to month as well. This is in the middle of an industrial park and not the “best” area so car break-ins have happened. They seem understaffed but the manager lives on the property and can always be reached over the phone. The lots are pretty close together so you can always hear your neighbor but most lots do come with a decent sized yard.Compared to other trailer parks it’s well kept. They have a basketball court and field area towards the back.As mentioned it’s in the middle of an industrial park so it’s surrounded by wear-houses and you are able to hear the workers at times. The streets have similar names so the mail boxes are always a mess. There is A LOT of stray cats.
Feb 16, 2022 · Hannah TabascoIt floods, my car got flooded, the ditch has rocks and tall grass which prevents water from running so it just sits and accumulates. The manager is rude and they charge you for parking per year in the lot you are already paying monthly rent. Paid for a parking space for a year only for manager to give it away after 2 months! No refund. It's impossible to contact the owner with any concerns regarding the manager's way of running things.Robberies and break ins take place often, they want to charge more for security when they should be driving around making the place secure. This place is going downhill fast, noisy neighbors! Don't get a night job or you will never sleep.
