One long-term resident expressed their strong affection for Los Pines, stating, "I love staying here at Los Pines!! The people are super nice and friendly. It’s always well kept and clean. It’s well shaded, so in the mid summer for campers is awesome. It’s electronically gated so there’s no suspicious persons or theft. The gated dog park is more than handy. And the owner Alvin is just an awesome guy. I’ve lived there for a year and never once even considered trying a different spot. 5 stars for sure!" This glowing review highlights several key aspects of the community. The friendliness of the residents and the owner, Alvin, creates a welcoming and positive social environment. The consistent cleanliness and upkeep of the grounds demonstrate a commitment to maintaining a pleasant living space. The ample shade is a significant benefit, particularly during the hot Texas summers, making it comfortable for campers. The electronically gated entrance provides a strong sense of security, ensuring a safe environment for all residents. Finally, the "more than handy" gated dog park is a significant amenity for pet owners, further enhancing the appeal of Los Pines.
Another long-term resident, with extensive experience in various living situations, declared Los Pines to be their "absolutely my favorite!" They elaborated on the unique appeal of the location, noting that it feels like "we are among the ones privileged enough to have a piece of land property." This suggests that Los Pines offers a sense of spaciousness and connection to the surrounding environment that is not typically found in standard RV parks. The entrance itself breaks away from the traditional "rv park vibe," indicating a more thoughtfully designed and aesthetically pleasing community.
The community's location, bordered by "untouched woods on one side and a properly maintained property on the other," provides residents with appealing views and a sense of being connected to nature. The smaller size of the community, combined with the gated entrance, trees interspersed among the lots, and decently sized spots, fosters an "inviting and welcoming neighborhood vibe" that blends both tiny homes and campers of all sizes. This integration of different housing styles creates a diverse and inclusive community atmosphere.
For pet owners, Los Pines is particularly welcoming, offering an "efficient dog park located at the end." This dedicated area allows dogs to run freely and provides amenities such as a "fake hydrant," occasional dog toys, waste bag dispensers, and a bench for owners to relax while their pets play. The dog park also serves as a natural gathering spot, providing opportunities for residents to meet their neighbors and socialize. Beyond the dog park, a "small piece of untouched property" behind it offers residents and their dogs a chance to explore nature within the safety and security of the fenced property, providing a sense of adventure without leaving the community.
The diverse mix of residents at Los Pines, spanning various ages and backgrounds, contributes to the vibrant and inclusive atmosphere. Whether residents are staying long-term or for a shorter period, all are welcomed and made to feel like they belong, creating a strong sense of community. The reviewer humorously noted that the only thing missing was a "welcome home sign," further emphasizing the strong sense of belonging they feel at Los Pines. The community intentionally maintains a limited number of spots to preserve its unique ambiance and quality of life, suggesting that availability may be limited and those interested should inquire promptly.
Based on these detailed and heartfelt reviews, Los Pines Tiny Home & RV Community offers a unique and highly desirable living experience that goes beyond the typical "RV park." Its well-kept and clean environment, coupled with the added security of an electronic gate, provides peace of mind. The ample shade is a significant comfort during warmer months. The dedicated and well-equipped dog park is a standout feature for pet owners. Most importantly, the friendly and welcoming atmosphere, fostered by the residents and the owner Alvin, creates a strong sense of community and belonging.
While the reviews extensively cover the environment, security, pet-friendliness, and community aspects, specific details regarding the standard RV amenities such as hookups (water, sewer, electricity – amperage not specified), laundry facilities, restroom and shower facilities, or Wi-Fi availability are not explicitly mentioned. Given the positive overall feedback and the focus on creating a comfortable long-term living environment, it is reasonable to assume that these essential amenities are provided. However, prospective residents should contact Los Pines directly to confirm the specifics of these services and ensure they meet their individual needs.
The location in Athens, Texas, offers a balance of a more rural setting with access to the amenities and attractions of the town. Athens is known for its natural beauty, including lakes and parks, and offers a more relaxed pace of life compared to larger cities. The "untouched woods" bordering Los Pines further enhance this connection to nature. The community's slightly more secluded feel, away from the typical RV park setting, contributes to its unique appeal.
For local users searching for "RV parks near me" that offer more than just a place to park their RV, Los Pines Tiny Home & RV Community presents an exceptional opportunity to join a welcoming and secure neighborhood that integrates RV living with the charm of tiny homes. The strong sense of community, the well-maintained grounds, the security features, and the excellent amenities like the dog park make it a standout choice for those seeking a long-term and fulfilling living experience. Oct 18, 2023 · Justin OwenThis place has been my home for many months now. Having much expirence in staying place to place, this by far has been absolutely my favorite! Starting with the location being in an area you feel like we are among the ones privileged enough to have a piece of land property. When pulling into the entrance, it doesnt feel like your usual options, not having the rv park vibe at all. Its up against untouched woods on one side and a properly maintenenced property on the other, creating an opportunity of a view. Being a smaller sized community with a gated entrance, trees amongst the lots, and decently sized spots, it has an inviting and welcoming neighborhood vibe mixed between Tiny homes as well as campers of all sizes. They also welcome the furry part of the family and have an efficient dog park located at the end. providing an area the animals can just run for a minute for a break from just your "yard", it has a fake hydrant in the middle as well as some dog toys (when the mower doesn't accidentally hit them) a spot for the bags and desposal of their business and a bench to observe them playing from. Also creates an opportunity to meet the fellow neighbors time to time or just have a moment alone w your pets. Behind the dog park is a small piece of untouched property in which myself and my dog really enjoy as we feel like we r exploring nature but still in the property and protected slightly from outside animals with a fence around the whole park that isn't an eye sore in the nature view. There's a variety of people, all ages, different walks of life. some live long term while others just a short stay, but all are welcomed as though they belong! The only thing missing would be the welcome home sign!! Am very grateful and feel blessed to have the opportunity to live here!!! Hope you get the opportunity to join the neighborhood as well. Does have a limited spots available to maintain the ombiance!!!
Oct 24, 2023 · Brittany KGreat little community perfect for our holiday weekend. New and modern with convenient dog park. Neighbors all really friendly and we would stay here again if in the area.
Jul 24, 2024 · Russ BrownWe did a long term tiny house rental here for our daughter and it was perfect for her! Quiet and tucked away in the trees but minutes away from her work in Athens, shopping and restaurants. The house was as new with great finishes throughout and we didn’t have to worry about her safety. We’d definitely recommend renting from Alvin!
Jan 24, 2024 · Derek StevensStayed a month here recently and we really enjoyed our stay. The gentleman who owns and runs it is very kind. There is a wonderful dog park and the grass was always kept trimmed. For an extended stay, this is the place you want to be. It was very quiet. I loved that it was gated so we had no worries about people coming and going that had no business there. Felt very safe and comfortable here, if we ever return to the area, we would definitely stay here again.
