Environment: According to one reviewer, MADE IN THE SHADE RV PARK boasts a beautiful environment characterized by an abundance of trees, even within the campground area itself. This suggests a potentially shaded and scenic setting, which could be particularly appealing to local users seeking a respite from the Texas sun. The presence of mature trees can contribute to a more pleasant and cooler camping experience, enhancing the overall enjoyment of the outdoors.
Furthermore, the park's location offers proximity to several noteworthy natural attractions. It is mentioned to be near Sam Houston Forest and Lake Livingston, as well as other sites worth visiting. For local RV enthusiasts who enjoy exploring the natural beauty of Texas, MADE IN THE SHADE RV PARK could serve as a convenient basecamp for accessing these regional destinations. The opportunity for day trips to forests, lakes, and other points of interest adds to the potential appeal of this location for those seeking outdoor adventures near San Antonio.
Services and Amenities: One reviewer described the owners of MADE IN THE SHADE RV PARK as "friendly and helpful." This suggests a positive and welcoming management presence, which can significantly enhance the overall experience for visitors. Friendly and helpful owners can provide valuable assistance, answer questions, and contribute to a more enjoyable stay for local RVers.
However, another long-term resident's review raises concerns regarding safety and security within the community. This resident expresses a growing concern about the presence of "vagrants and or immigrants/transients" traveling through the area, leading them to feel the need to protect their own space. The reviewer also states that the property owners "do not care about personal safety." This is a serious concern that local users should carefully consider and potentially inquire about directly with the park management to understand their security measures and policies.
The same long-term resident also shared a deeply troubling experience of "too much racism" within the community, advising others to "keep to myself" if they were to live there. This is a significant issue that potential local users should be aware of, as it indicates a potentially unwelcoming or hostile social environment for some individuals. It is crucial to consider this feedback alongside the positive comments about the park's natural beauty and friendly owners.
Given the conflicting nature of these reviews, it is difficult to provide a comprehensive overview of the services and amenities without further information. Local users should contact the park directly to inquire about essential services such as hookups (water, electricity, sewer), Wi-Fi availability, laundry facilities, restrooms, showers, and any other amenities that are important for their camping needs. It would also be prudent to ask about security measures in place and the management's response to the safety concerns raised in the review.
Features: The standout features of MADE IN THE SHADE RV PARK appear to be its beautiful, tree-filled environment and its convenient location near natural attractions like Sam Houston Forest and Lake Livingston. These aspects could be particularly appealing to local users who appreciate nature and outdoor activities. The potential for a shaded campsite is also a significant advantage in the Texas climate.
The mention of friendly and helpful owners suggests a positive customer service experience. However, this is juxtaposed with the serious concerns raised by a long-term resident regarding safety issues and experiences of racism within the community. These are critical factors that could significantly impact a local user's decision to stay at this park.
The long-term residency of at least one individual for over 15 years suggests that the park may offer options for extended stays and has been a home for some. This could be a feature for local users seeking a longer-term RV living situation in the San Antonio area.
Promotional Information: Currently, there is no specific promotional information available in the provided reviews. Local users interested in any special offers, long-term stay discounts, or other promotions should contact MADE IN THE SHADE RV PARK directly using the provided phone numbers. Given the serious concerns raised in one of the reviews, it would also be wise to inquire about any initiatives the management has in place to address safety and community relations.
When contacting the park, local users might want to ask about current rates, availability of sites, specific amenities offered, security protocols, and the management's perspective on the concerns raised in the online reviews. This direct communication will be essential for gathering a well-rounded understanding of what MADE IN THE SHADE RV PARK currently offers.
Objective Summary for Local Users: For local residents of the San Antonio area looking for "RV parks near me," MADE IN THE SHADE RV PARK offers the potential for a beautiful, tree-filled camping environment with convenient access to natural attractions like Sam Houston Forest and Lake Livingston. The owners have been described as friendly and helpful, which can contribute to a positive guest experience.
However, it is crucial for potential local users to be aware of the serious concerns raised by a long-term resident regarding a perceived lack of attention to personal safety by the property owners and reported experiences of racism within the community. These are significant issues that should not be overlooked and warrant thorough investigation through direct communication with the park management.
While the natural setting and friendly owners are positive aspects, the safety and community environment concerns are serious and could outweigh these benefits for many local users. We strongly recommend that anyone considering a stay at MADE IN THE SHADE RV PARK contact the management directly to discuss these concerns, understand the security measures in place, and get a clear sense of the current community dynamics.
Ultimately, the decision of whether to stay at MADE IN THE SHADE RV PARK will depend on individual priorities and risk tolerance. Local users should weigh the appealing aspects of the park's environment and location against the significant concerns raised in the reviews to make an informed choice that aligns with their safety, comfort, and social well-being.
