Montgomery Marina RV Resort Introduce
If you are searching for "RV parks near me" in the Montgomery, Alabama area, Montgomery Marina RV Resort, located at 503 Shady St, Montgomery, AL 36104, USA, offers a convenient option, particularly for overnight stays. You can reach them at (334) 558-5202 or their mobile number +1 334-558-5202. Based on recent customer reviews, this RV park provides essential amenities and a strategic location, although it is described as "no-frills."
The environment of Montgomery Marina RV Resort is characterized by its practicality and accessibility. It is noted to be "close to the interstate" and "only minutes from downtown," making it a convenient stop for travelers passing through or those wanting to explore the city. The camping area features "hard packed level gravel" lots, which are appreciated for their stability and ease of setup. There are also mentions of "some concrete pads" that are likely reserved for long-term residents. The park shares its property with a boat launch, suggesting potential access to water-related activities, although this is not elaborated upon. While one reviewer mentioned that it "didn't feel like the best part of town," they also stated that they did not encounter any safety issues. The presence of a "security fence with coded gate" indicates an effort to provide a secure environment for guests.
In terms of services, Montgomery Marina RV Resort offers the fundamental necessities for RV travelers:
- Full Hookups: A significant advantage is the inclusion of full hookups at each site, providing 30/50 amp electrical service, water, and sewer connections. This ensures a comfortable and self-sufficient stay for RVers.
- Pet-Friendly: The park welcomes pets, which is a crucial factor for many travelers on the road. Specific pet policies (e.g., breed restrictions, leash rules) are not mentioned.
- Wi-Fi: While listed as a potential service, one reviewer reported that the "WiFi never worked" during their stay, even when parked near the center of the lot. This suggests that Wi-Fi reliability may be an issue.
- Playground: A playground is available, although it is described as looking "a tad rough." Its presence indicates an effort to cater to families with children, even if the condition is not optimal.
- Call-on-Arrival System: The check-in process involves calling the owner upon arrival, which one reviewer noted "worked ok." This implies that there may not be a traditional on-site office with regular hours.
- Proximity to Amenities: The park is conveniently located near a bike trail and a small park, offering opportunities for outdoor recreation. Additionally, a "fantastic 'down home' Oyster Bar" is situated just outside the back gate, providing a local dining option.
Features of Montgomery Marina RV Resort, based on the reviews, include:
- Level Gravel Lots: The "hard packed level gravel" is a practical feature appreciated by RVers for easy leveling and setup.
- Security: The presence of a security fence with a coded gate offers a sense of security for guests and their belongings.
- Water Access (via Boat Launch): Sharing property with a boat launch may provide access to a nearby waterway, although the specific opportunities this offers for RV guests are not detailed.
- Friendly Management: The owner/manager is described as a "very nice guy," suggesting positive interactions and helpful service.
While the location offers convenience and essential hookups, there are some drawbacks to consider:
- No Bathhouse or Guest House: The absence of a bathhouse or guest house means that RVers must rely solely on their onboard facilities. This could be a significant inconvenience for those with smaller RVs or those who prefer separate restroom and shower facilities.
- Potentially Higher Price for Limited Frills: One reviewer noted that the park felt "a little spendy for a no-frills" experience. This suggests that while the location and hookups are beneficial, the lack of additional amenities might not justify the cost for all travelers.
- Perceived Location Concerns: The comment about it not feeling like "the best part of town" might raise concerns for some visitors regarding safety and the surrounding area, although the reviewer did not encounter any specific issues.
- Unreliable Wi-Fi: The reported issues with the Wi-Fi could be a significant drawback for travelers needing internet access.
Promotional information is not explicitly provided in the reviews. However, the implicit promotion lies in its convenient location near the interstate and downtown Montgomery, the availability of full hookups, and its pet-friendly policy. These features cater to travelers seeking a functional and accessible overnight stop.
One reviewer indicated that they "would stay again" for a one-night stop if the weather is good but would avoid it during storm risk or for a longer vacation. This suggests that while suitable for a brief stopover due to its convenience, the lack of amenities might make it less appealing for extended stays or adverse weather conditions.
For local users or those passing through Montgomery, AL, searching for "RV parks near me," Montgomery Marina RV Resort offers a no-frills but conveniently located option with full hookups and a pet-friendly policy. Its proximity to the interstate and downtown makes it a practical choice for short stays. However, potential guests should be aware of the lack of a bathhouse, potentially unreliable Wi-Fi, and the reviewer's perception of it being somewhat expensive for the amenities offered. Contacting the park directly at the provided phone numbers can offer the most up-to-date information on pricing, availability, and any changes to the park's services or facilities.

Montgomery Marina RV Resort Reviews
Great spot for a night's sleep. It's close to the interstate and only minutes from downtown. There's full hookup included (30/50, water, sewer). The playground looks a tad rough but at least it's there. The WiFi never worked for us and we were parked near the center of the lot. The lot is all gravel and is level. There are some concrete pads that I assume are for long term stays.

Jul 16, 2022 · Lj KnowlesNOT QUIET AT ALL. A large flat parking lot located directly next to a railroad switching yard. We could not sleep even with white noise generators. If you want to sleep, this is not an option. The one plus we found is the proximity to downtown. We did have full hookups, but did not use them. Let me repeat, the train noise is loud and non-stop.
Dec 24, 2024 · Moose KernoffThe campground was conveniently located for us near the highway, but far enough from the road noise. It is a gravel lot, which bothers some folks, but it appeared to be pretty well kept and out site was level with electric/water hook-ups. I found that they've recently invested a lot in upgrading their bathroom/shower & laundry facilities. There's an affiliated oyster bar next door.
Oct 12, 2023 · Randy HeimosIf you just need a place to stay for a night or few and don't mind not having facilities then this place is great. The owner is very nice as well and the wifi is good.
