Mountain Creek

I owned my trailer and my son lived here for about 4 years. I decided to sell because the rent kept going up and he could no longer afford it. In order to sell to someone they have to have an approved rental application from the office. The problem was no one was ever in the office to conduct business. This resulted in loosing several potential buyers. Finally after 2 months I sold it to someone who was gonna move it out of the park. My son moved out in November of 2022. The buyer purchased the trailer in December. I paid the rent for December so I no longer owned the trailer after that. The park charged me rent for January even though I didn't own the trailher and had terminated my lease with a written notice. This resulted in forfeiture of my deposit. My son always paid his rent even during Covid when alot of people were not paying. This is the most unprofessional and untrustworthy place to live and would not recommend to my worst enemy. - Joe Trent

For local residents in the Elliston, Virginia area seeking information about residential options that might appear under the 'RV Parks Near Me' platform category, Mountain Creek, located at 302 Crest Mountain Cir, Elliston, VA 24087, USA, warrants consideration. While the platform typically lists locations for recreational vehicle stays, mobile home parks often share similar infrastructure and can sometimes be included. However, it is crucial for prospective residents to thoroughly research and consider the experiences of current and former residents before making any decisions. The provided phone numbers, (540) 268-5505 and mobile +1 540-268-5505, offer a direct line of contact for inquiries, but the accompanying reviews paint a concerning picture of the park's management and living conditions.

The environment of Mountain Creek, situated in Elliston, Virginia, likely benefits from the natural beauty of the surrounding area. Elliston is located in the western part of Virginia, near the Appalachian Mountains, suggesting that residents might enjoy scenic views and a more rural setting. The address, Crest Mountain Cir, further implies a location with elevated terrain and potential mountain vistas, aligning with the park's name. However, the positive aspects of the natural environment may be overshadowed by the reported issues within the park itself.

In terms of services and features, mobile home parks typically offer essential infrastructure for long-term living, such as individual lots with utility hookups (water, electricity, sewage), paved roads, and possibly trash removal services. While not explicitly detailed in the negative reviews, it is reasonable to assume that Mountain Creek provides these basic services. However, the focus of the feedback is overwhelmingly on management practices rather than the physical infrastructure. The first review mentions a requirement for potential buyers of a mobile home within the park to have an approved rental application from the office, highlighting a level of control exerted by the park management over property sales within the community. The difficulty in conducting business due to the office being frequently unattended is a significant concern raised by this former resident.

The recurring theme in the reviews is the management of Mountain Creek. One former resident describes the park as "the most unprofessional and untrustworthy place to live" and would not recommend it even to their "worst enemy." This strong condemnation stems from issues related to rent increases after the termination of a lease and the forfeiture of a deposit under disputed circumstances. The lack of communication and the perceived unfair treatment are central to this negative experience.

Another significant concern raised by a current resident is the frequent rent increases, stating that the rent has been raised "at least 4 times" over a couple of years, occurring approximately every six months. This rapid escalation of costs can create financial instability for residents, particularly those on fixed incomes, and suggests a lack of predictability in housing expenses.

An update from the same current resident expresses serious safety concerns and feelings of harassment by the park staff. The allegations of staff driving around and taking pictures of residents or their homes create an environment of surveillance and discomfort, leading to a feeling of unsafety and an urgent desire to leave the community. These are severe accusations that prospective residents must consider with utmost seriousness.

Given the overwhelmingly negative nature of the provided reviews, any discussion of promotional information is rendered moot. The experiences shared by former and current residents serve as a strong deterrent rather than an endorsement. It is highly unlikely that the park would actively promote the very issues that are causing such distress among its residents and those who have tried to conduct business there. Any potential positive features, such as the natural environment, are overshadowed by the serious allegations of unprofessional management, frequent rent hikes, and harassment leading to safety concerns.

For local users in Elliston, VA, exploring residential options under the 'RV Parks Near Me' category, the reviews for Mountain Creek present significant red flags. While the location might offer scenic beauty, the reported issues with management practices, including difficulties in property sales, unfair financial dealings, frequent rent increases, and alarming allegations of harassment and safety concerns, should give any prospective resident serious pause. The lack of positive feedback and the severity of the negative comments strongly suggest that thorough due diligence and consideration of alternative housing options in the area are essential. Contacting the park management directly using the provided phone numbers is advisable for those seeking to understand their perspective, but the consistency and gravity of the negative experiences reported by multiple individuals cannot be ignored. Mountain Creek, based on this information, appears to be a residential choice that warrants extreme caution.
