New Orleans RV Resort & Marina Introduce
Welcome to the New Orleans RV Resort & Marina, situated at 6001 France Rd in the vibrant city of New Orleans, Louisiana. For local users and those seeking "RV parks near me" with more than just basic hookups, this resort aims to provide a comprehensive experience with a variety of on-site amenities and services. However, it's essential to consider recent customer feedback alongside the advertised features to form an objective understanding of what this RV park offers.
Environment and Location:
The New Orleans RV Resort & Marina boasts a location within New Orleans, offering potential access to the city's renowned attractions, culture, and cuisine. One of the frequently highlighted advantages is the availability of Adam’s shuttle service and tour. This locally operated service provides convenient transportation to the French Quarter multiple times a day, with pick-up options in the late afternoon and evening. Additionally, Adam’s tour of New Orleans is described as fantastic, covering historical areas, cemeteries, the lakefront, and multiple trips to the French Quarter, albeit for an additional fee. This shuttle service is a significant convenience for guests wanting to explore the city without the hassle of driving and parking.
However, some reviews point out a potential drawback regarding the park's location relative to the main tourist areas. One guest mentioned that while it seemed close on a map, the poor road conditions and the actual location made getting to the hub of New Orleans a "pain," specifically citing severe potholes. This is a crucial factor for local users and visitors to consider, as transportation and road accessibility can significantly impact their experience of the city.
The RV grounds themselves are noted to be decently maintained. This suggests that the physical infrastructure for parking and hookups is generally in good condition. However, one reviewer observed that long-term tenants were allowed to have cluttered and disorganized sites, which might affect the overall aesthetic of the park for short-term visitors.
Services and Amenities:
The New Orleans RV Resort & Marina offers a range of amenities that go beyond basic RV parking. These include:
- Restaurant and Bar: Having an on-site restaurant and bar provides a convenient option for meals and socializing without needing to leave the resort.
- Pool: A swimming pool is a valuable amenity, especially during the hot Louisiana summers, offering a place for relaxation and recreation.
- Game Room: A game room provides entertainment options for guests of all ages.
- Adam’s Shuttle Service and Tour: As mentioned earlier, this fee-based service offers convenient transportation and guided tours to popular New Orleans destinations.
- Package Delivery: The resort allows guests to have Amazon and other packages delivered to the office, a useful service for travelers and longer-term stays.
- Laundry Facilities: The presence of laundry facilities is essential for extended stays. However, recent feedback indicates significant issues with the functionality of the dryers, with only one reported as working out of several. This led to considerable inconvenience for guests needing to do laundry.
Despite the advertised amenities, the reported issues with the laundry facilities highlight the importance of the operational status of these services. Potential guests might want to inquire about the current condition of the laundry facilities before booking, especially for longer stays.
One reviewer also mentioned negative interactions with the office staff, describing them as "aloof and unhelpful." Customer service can significantly impact the overall guest experience, and this feedback suggests a potential area for improvement.
Features of the RV Park:
Several features of the New Orleans RV Resort & Marina stand out:
- Gated Entry: The resort has a gate and provides guests with a gate code, implying security measures. However, one reviewer noted that the gate did not close at night during their three-night stay, raising concerns about security. Local users who prioritize secure premises should inquire about the functionality of the gate.
- Pet-Friendly (with Restrictions): The park allows dogs but has specific breed restrictions that go beyond typical "bully breeds." It is crucial for pet owners to check their detailed restriction list before booking to ensure their pets are permitted.
- Long-Term Tenants Allowed: The resort accommodates long-term residents. While this can foster a sense of community, as noted earlier, it can also lead to some sites appearing cluttered, which might affect the aesthetic experience for short-term visitors.
The allowance of long-term tenants can be both a positive and a negative aspect. It can contribute to a more stable environment but might also result in a less uniform appearance across all sites.
Another significant point raised by a reviewer was the cost, with a night's stay costing almost $90 even with a Good Sam’s discount. This price point suggests that the resort positions itself as a higher-end option. Local users and visitors should weigh the cost against the perceived value and the reported issues with services and location accessibility.
Promotional Information:
The provided information does not contain specific promotional offers or discounts beyond the mention of a Good Sam’s discount, the availability of which would need to be confirmed at the time of booking. Potential guests are advised to check the resort's website or contact them directly to inquire about any ongoing promotions, seasonal rates, or discounts for local residents or longer stays.
Given the mixed reviews, it would be beneficial for the New Orleans RV Resort & Marina to address the concerns raised regarding road access, laundry facilities, gate security, and customer service to enhance the overall guest experience and justify its pricing.
Conclusion for Local Users:
The New Orleans RV Resort & Marina offers a range of amenities and a potentially convenient shuttle service to the French Quarter, making it an attractive option for those wanting to explore the city without driving. The on-site restaurant, bar, pool, and game room provide additional conveniences. However, local users considering this RV park should be aware of the reported issues concerning poor road conditions leading to the resort, the functionality of the laundry facilities, the inconsistent closure of the security gate, and potentially unhelpful office staff. The higher cost compared to other options should also be factored into the decision-making process.
Pet owners must carefully review the dog breed restrictions before booking. While the resort accommodates long-term residents, this can lead to a varied appearance of the sites. For local users seeking an RV park with comprehensive amenities and transportation options to the French Quarter, the New Orleans RV Resort & Marina might be a viable choice, provided they are prepared for the potential drawbacks highlighted in recent reviews. It is recommended to contact the resort directly for the most up-to-date information on services, conditions, and pricing, and to inquire about the current status of the laundry facilities and security measures.

New Orleans RV Resort & Marina Reviews
Great place to stay. Convenient restaurant and bar on premises with pool and game room. One of the best things provided by a local resident is Adam’s shuttle service and shuttle tour. His 12 passenger van takes you to the French Quarter several times a day and pick up throughout the late afternoon and evening. His tour of New Orleans was fantastic. He takes you through the old section, new sections, cemeteries, lake “P” and the French Quarter several times. The New Orleans part is huge. All for a fee but you can’t beat it. A must while visiting. In addition you can have Amazon and package delivered to the office too!
Apr 12, 2025 · Greg SThe office staff was aloof and unhelpful. Cost was almost $90 a night with a Good Sam’s discount. Our goal was to visit the hub of New Orleans and although it seemed close when mapping it, the horrible conditions of the roads and the location of this park made getting there a pain. Like potholes so deep you may lose a tire, bad. After staying here, I wish we’d spent the extra to stay at the French Quarters RV.Although, the RV grounds were decently maintained. Long term tenants are allowed to leave their site in disarray and cluttered. Although they have A LOT of rules, it does not seem to be upheld effectively.Laundry experience was tiresome. Only one working dryer. Seemed to have 4 working dryers (no signage saying out of order on any, except one). One dryer had clothes in it all day. One the drum would not move or have heat. And the other had no heat. Got a refund for one dryer, but just didn’t care about talking to the staff again when I realized the other dryer was also broken 🤦♀️I didn’t know that there was only one working dryer before starting four loads of laundry and had to spend the next three hours waiting for the only working dryer to finish drying my wet clothes. We heard gunshots that seemed too close for comfort one night. The gate did not close at night the 3 nights we were there (we were next to the entrance gate) but they give you a gate code indicating that at night the gates would close. It does not.Dog breed restrictions. Check their restriction list before booking. Goes beyond just pit bull/bully breeds.
Mar 09, 2025 · Jeri SimpsonThe campground is conveniently located off I-10, but after getting off I-10, the area surrounding the campground is a little sketchy and trashy. Drove to Walmart one day, 3 police cars in the parking lot and looking around, we decided we would keep moving. Once inside the campground gates, it was very nice. The sites are a little close together with palm trees in-between the sites that needs trimming. As the wind blew, they would scrape against the side of the unit. Site was gravel based, pretty close to level. Cable didn't work the whole time we were there, contacted the office about it 4 times during our stay, they promised to send someone to check it out, never saw or heard from anyone. Luckily there were plenty of over the air channels. About 25 minutes to downtown, traffic wasn't too bad most days. No noise from traffic, but pretty close to a busy small airport which could be somewhat noisy. Ate at the restaurant on-site, food and service were very good.
Mar 24, 2025 · RoadrunnermooreWe absolutely loved this campground. It was quiet and we had an amazing view of the marina. Restaurant was so convenient, food and service were excellent. We will definitely be back next time we are in town. ❤️
May 04, 2025 · amy bazemoreWe have stayed at 487 different places. Look elsewhere! They said they give a Military discount but don’t give it. When asked about it, I was told I sent it to my boss but we heard nothing. Might have been a nice “Resort” at one time but…. If you walk watch out out for the gravel all over the road. Very overgrown and nothing trim back for years. On a positive note, restaurant is good!
