Newhaven Estates Introduce
If you are searching for "RV parks near me" or considering a 55+ mobile home community in Apache Junction, Arizona, Newhaven Estates, located at 2015 S Wickiup Rd, Apache Junction, AZ 85119, USA, presents a mixed picture based on recent customer feedback. Reviews suggest a strong sense of community and enjoyable experiences in the past, but also highlight significant concerns regarding current management and the overall condition of the park.
One recent review expresses considerable disappointment with the current state of Newhaven Estates. A former visitor who described it as a "beautiful oasis at the edge of the desert" observed that the current management/owner has allowed the beauty of the park to decline, with weeds and a generally run-down and tired appearance. This reviewer also suggests that the residents are not being appreciated, citing a new requirement for the 55+ community to own a computer to pay rent, coupled with consistent issues of corporate losing mailed payments. Furthermore, they mention a lack of on-site staff for inquiries about available homes or for handling day-to-day maintenance issues, leading to a strong recommendation against the park.
In contrast, another review from February/March 2023 paints a much more positive picture of Newhaven Estates. This reviewer, who stayed for two weeks, described the park as "very friendly with a real sense of community and numerous activities." They noted a mix of mobile homes and campers, with level sites and additional parking available. The location on the eastern edge of Apache Junction was considered quieter yet still convenient for shopping. The clubhouse was highlighted for its well-equipped kitchen and gathering area. While acknowledging that other parks might offer more amenities at a higher cost, this reviewer found Newhaven Estates enjoyable. The only area suggested for improvement was the restrooms, which were described as adequate but needing renovation. For those primarily using their own camper facilities, this was not seen as a significant issue. This reviewer also mentioned the park's suitability as a base for exploring the surrounding area, including hiking.
The contrasting nature of these reviews suggests a potential shift in the management or upkeep of Newhaven Estates between early 2023 and the time of the more critical review. The earlier review emphasizes the strong community spirit and the availability of activities, which are significant draws for many seeking a social and engaging living environment, particularly within a 55+ community. The level sites and parking for towed vehicles also cater well to RVers who might be considering a longer stay or a base for exploration.
However, the more recent review raises serious concerns about the current management's impact on the park's aesthetics and the well-being of its residents. The decline in the park's appearance, the mandatory digital payment system (which may be challenging for some in the 55+ demographic), and the issues with lost mailed payments point to potential mismanagement. The lack of on-site staff for inquiries and maintenance further suggests a decline in services and responsiveness.
For individuals considering Newhaven Estates as one of the "RV parks near me" or as a potential long-term residence, it is crucial to weigh these differing perspectives. The sense of community and activities reported in the earlier review are valuable assets. The location on the edge of Apache Junction could indeed offer a quieter environment while still providing reasonable access to amenities. The presence of a clubhouse with a kitchen and gathering area is also a significant feature for social interaction and community events.
However, the more recent concerns about the park's appearance, the mandatory digital payment system, issues with rent payments, and the lack of on-site management and maintenance cannot be ignored. These factors could significantly impact the quality of life for residents and the overall appeal of the park.
Given this conflicting information, prospective residents and RVers are strongly encouraged to conduct their own thorough investigation of Newhaven Estates. This should include contacting the management directly using the provided phone numbers, (442) 260-4645 and +1 442-260-4645, to inquire about the current conditions, payment policies, on-site staff availability, maintenance procedures, and any amenities offered. A personal visit to the park would also be highly beneficial to assess the current state of the grounds, the atmosphere of the community, and the condition of the facilities.
When inquiring, specific questions should be asked about the digital payment requirement and whether any accommodations are made for residents who may not own or be comfortable using computers for rent payment. Information about the availability of on-site management and maintenance staff and the process for addressing resident concerns is also essential. Additionally, it would be prudent to inquire about any ongoing efforts to address the reported decline in the park's appearance.
Apache Junction, the location of Newhaven Estates, is situated in a scenic area near the Superstition Mountains, offering opportunities for outdoor activities and exploration. The convenience to shopping and other amenities, as mentioned in one of the reviews, is also a positive aspect of the location. However, the internal conditions and management of the park itself are the primary factors to consider when making a decision about residency.
In conclusion, Newhaven Estates in Apache Junction, Arizona, appears to be a community with a history of friendliness and a strong sense of community, as reported in early 2023. However, more recent feedback raises significant concerns about the current management's impact on the park's appearance, maintenance, payment policies, and on-site support. Prospective residents and RVers should carefully weigh these contrasting perspectives and conduct thorough due diligence to determine if Newhaven Estates currently meets their needs and expectations for a 55+ mobile home or RV community.

Newhaven Estates Reviews
This was a beautiful oasis at the edge of the desert. I just drove through and am saddened at current management/owner has allowed all the beautiful that was here to die and weed up. Park looks run down and tired. And the residents are not being appreciated, they are 55+ but suddenly are required to own a computer to pay their rent and corporate consistently loses payments that are mailed. No one onsite to talk to about homes that are available nor any maintenance staff handling day to day issues. Would not recommend.
Jul 29, 2022 · Mari CummingsWe enjoyed ourselves at Newhaven Estates for two weeks in Feb/Mar 2023. The park is very friendly with a real sense of community and numerous activities. There’s a mix of mobile homes and campers and the sites are level with additional parking for towed trailers or other vehicles. It’s located on the eastern edge of Apache Junction but still convenient to plenty of shopping so it’s probably quieter than parks located more in-town. The clubhouse has a well equipped kitchen and gathering area. Other parks may offer more amenities but also cost more. The only thing I’d recommend needing attention are the restrooms - they’re adequate but could use some TLC and maybe renovating - but if you use your camper then no problem. We brought our Jeep and did exploring and hiking in the area.
Mar 08, 2023 · Mark SmithWe have been coming here for years and we can truly say we love it now. There was a problem with previous management and things we're going downhill. But since Barb took over she has improved property here in the short time she's been here. Shes always available and so pleasant to deal with. So glad to be coming back next year.Bill and Ruth #84
Mar 14, 2023 · Ruth StullI have been reading reviews about about where we live at Newhaven Estates and I'm sorry those people had such a bad experience. We have lived here since 2017. There were problems with many things prior to our new manager Barb taking over. But you should come back again and give us another try. Barb has made so many improvements since she came. The park is looking great and if you have a problem, Barb takes care of it promptly. We are a great little community in a beautiful spot looking at the majestic Superstition Mtns.
Jan 19, 2023 · Jerri JenkinsWe have been coming to this park since 2017 and have watched it go through some rough times. The parks current management has been instrumental in cleaning up the park and making our winter home an enjoyable stay. thank you Barb.
